They’ve come on leaps and bounds Skoda since Volkswagen took them over. Nowadays they’re using Volkswagen group technology as well that 1.0 unit is the same as you’ll find in the VW Up GTI, and Audi A1 for example. Albeit, they’re a bit behind the likes of VW and Audi in terms of technology but for the most part it is up to date engine and mechanically wise and that makes them a bargain. It’s also a 3 cylinder that engine you wouldn’t be able to tell!
I lost interest in SKODA when they stop being skodas and start being cheap VWs. Skodas were great when they were proper skodas with engines in the back and they cost pennies to buy, run and fix.
