Just brilliant, entertaining and informative from start to finish, can't say anymore than that! The work you put into these videos is always appreciated! 💪🏻 Cheers 😁👍🏻
My Dad is a retired chippy, if you draw the saw along the underside edge nearest you before you start sawing you reduce the potential splitting of the wood, also take longer strokes with the saw, let the saw do the work. Love the channel thanks 🙏
Not seen shelving like his before, very nice.Ilike how you explain everything even down to the type of timber EGP "edge glued panels".Hope we see the etsy store expand over time.
Crikey I missed this one first time around 😭. You'll have stop cranking out so many videos Stuart😆 Seriously though this is a little gem of a project. I might adapt the sizes a bit & make something similar for our conservatory.
This is a fantastic guide. Production quality of your videos is excellent. I'm pretty sure you're already aware of forstner bits but as you didn't mention them I think they might be of interest to others who might want to build this. forstner bits are an alternative to the spade bit but create a much cleaner hole in soft woods.
Great video as always . Even though you have a snip saw you showed how to do it by hand ideal for the DIY . We have a saying in the trade (in glue and dust I place my trust if that won't do then putty must ) sanding before the glue is dry works well thanks for sharing kind regards Shaun
Great little project for the winter evenings in the shed. Another enjoyable video, one of many on your brilliant channel Stuart, I see you are near 100k subscribers, good for you my friend well done....!!!!!
Pro tip: the handle of a hand saw cam be used as a square of you lay the blade flat on your workpiece. In fact it also does 45 degrees of you rotate it. And it's a lot longer than a regular square.
Great project and, as always, clearly explained. I occasionally see something that makes me think that you may be ex-forces and another indicator is those that look like three SA80 (HK) mags. Of course, they could be something completely different! Cheers.
Just a thought - I would have offset the cut of the shelf board a few CMs so that the upper shelf is a little shorter. I feel it would look more "balanced"... But always so well explained.
I remember when you channel was small and had no more than 30k subscribers now your reaching a 100k this week (grown up now) 😭. You have finally entered the big world of an official content creators. Good luck and I wish you a happy journey through RUclips. And congrats on your future 100k RUclips play button.
Well thank you very much. Now I'm around 100k I supposed to know what I'm doing - still don't - but that makes it more fun! I do find the idea of being a 'content creator' or 'influencer' funny - just a bloke in a garage!
Another great, easy to follow video, great design too. I'm a little concerned that AR magazines, light aircraft flying manuals, rugged HDDs and vodka feature amongst the important stuff. You planning a coup somewhere?
That load of wood must have cost about £1,000 at today's prices 🤣🤣🤣. I really enjoyed this video, lots of useful tips. Have you done any tips how to keep the drill perpendicular to the wood? That the one area I struggle with. Look forward to seeing you achieve 100k followers, any day now.
I got a few pennies change from that! Good question about keeping the drill perpendicular as it's such a comment thing to do yet all of us have an issue with it. I will release a short video on this just for you in within the next month.
Just subscribed to your channel Stuart, thought I was going to be your 100K sub so you can get a shiny plaque from RUclips to hang in your workshop. Won't be long now though!
Hi there! Those drills are vicious! As they pull the bit in with the front thread I thought I was going to drill Thro ugh the piece and the board underneath and my work bench! I was constantly holding it back. I think they would be excellent for quick holes through timbers for cables and pipes.
Really Good Video - I do have one question? - Where do you get the 3D mini-me -replicate of yourself on the left-hand top of your shelves - Do you use digital scanning?
I recently ruined a desktop I was building because I used Titebond II wood glue to make my ‘DIY Filer’ and was horrified to see it did not dry the same color as the wood but was notable darker. The bog-standard non-Titebond yellow wood glue worked fine. Livid and irreparable for stain. I used dust from my sander as it was finer than sawdust.
I purchase from all different places as you can imagine and I find there is no one shop that ticks all the boxes. If I want a large amount of timber for a project, B&Q is the last place I would look. However, for the average DIY'er who wants to get something done over the weekend, places like B&Q are easy to deal with and you can see exactly what you are getting hence their popularity. My local builders merchants who have the cheapest timber will not allow you into the yard to even see it because of forklifts operating!
Just brilliant, entertaining and informative from start to finish, can't say anymore than that! The work you put into these videos is always appreciated! 💪🏻 Cheers 😁👍🏻
Thank you very much
Screwdriver to mix the varnish = classic DIY!
Paper on dowel trick = Genius. Top stuff!
Thank you
brilliant tip with the paper! I need to cut coasters out of a large hexagonal block by hand and this trick will be perfect for that. Cheers!
Nice one!
My Dad is a retired chippy, if you draw the saw along the underside edge nearest you before you start sawing you reduce the potential splitting of the wood, also take longer strokes with the saw, let the saw do the work.

Top video as ever.
Nelkon and Parker, A Level Physics took me straight back to the mid 70's and Mr Brown's class! 😀
Thanks. Yes a classic!
Brilliant.
Wood glue and sawdust, would never of thought of that!
Yes - works well.
So simple.......I love it!!!!!! I will be doing a couple of these this weekend! Got to say it again....I love it!!!!!! Thank you!
Love your tip for supporting the board when cutting. So simple, yet effective. Great video as always.
Glad you liked it!

No problem. Absolutely change everything for your situation and taste - thats the great thing about DIY and building things yourself.
Nice project and very good execution. And I like the humor that you imprint to your videos! 😁
Thanks
A great design and I loved those little finishing tips. Thank you.
Glad you like them!

The best drill bits, I've found, for use with a cordless drill are Wood Owl Overdrive bits. Minimal tear out when drill through ply or solid wood.
Great video! Little tip; use the almost full lenght of your sawblade. You won’t end up with a blund middle part.

Thanks. Yes aiming it at the average DIY' who doesn't have all the tools.
Some great tips Stuart in another well presented video 👍
Thanks 👍
Great video its good seeing things made without hundreds of pounds of tools involved .
Thanks - that was the plan
Brilliant video again ... proper inspiring work .. love it ... hope for many more to come ..Window seat comes to mind ...
Many thanks
Excellent video with a good explanation of the steps to follow and a good mood to the mix, greetings from Portimão (Algarve)/Portugal.
Glad you enjoyed it! Obrigada

I think I use my saw as a square more than my actual square 😅
Great little build.
Wow, absolutely brilliant, I must give this a try .
Brilliant video as always mate
❤️👍👍👍👍👍⭐️⭐️
Thank you

Well spotted
@@ProperDIY 😁👍
Look like Airsoft mags

But always so well explained.
You could do - good point
Might be worth looking at a cyclone separator for your dust vac Stuart, would make a good future video too
Yes - a future project there
🤣🤣🤣🤣 poor Goblin, he must be the grumpy one. Thanks Stuart, brilliant project…..you be safe as always from South Africa
I get such negative energy from him - it sucks my creative skills! - Hi SA!

Great content as always! Nice project that and really good to see you now have an Etsy store 👏🏻
Thanks. Yes finally there!
Very well done.
A good video with a trip to what we call head office…….B&Q the best man Cave😂
Over the years I've spent a lot of time in head office
Another great, easy to follow video, great design too. I'm a little concerned that AR magazines, light aircraft flying manuals, rugged HDDs and vodka feature amongst the important stuff. You planning a coup somewhere?
Could be. You never know who is working for the MI5
nice table and very simple in style but not in concept
I'm impressed!!!
Thanks
Interesting, may give this a go 👍
Go for it!
3 - 30 round AR Magazines Next to the bottle of vodka?
I hadn't thought of storing my mags that way.
Cool little project.
That's the way we roll in Essex!
Can you do a video on skirting boards please
Congrats on 100k!!!
Thanks- you're the first but a little early - prob another 2h to go!
nice job made there 👏👏
Thanks 👍
Another one bites the dust . Like the bit on how you caught the piece of timber with your ankle how many takes for that
Just one
I would've aligned the grain of the dowels to the grain of the frame before glueing 😁 😁
It depends if you want them to stand out or not - it's a feature of the build.
Great video, as always.
Thanks
Did you visit B&Q when it was closed!!! Great Video, makes a change from MDF
I go nice and early
Is that the b&q in norwich? Looks just like my local one!
Awesome video as usual. 👍
Thanks
Love 'em! Keep the vids coming 👍
Thanks! Will do!
Trevor Thom, The air pilots manual 1, 2 and 3. Do you fly a wood constructed aeroplane?
Not at the moment but I have flown wooden gilders and planes
That load of wood must have cost about £1,000 at today's prices 🤣🤣🤣.

Great video as always thanks. Out of interest what was the total cost of the wood & stain? Cheers
Thanks. Just under £50. The most expensive bit was the EGP sheet at £34
Just subscribed to your channel Stuart, thought I was going to be your 100K sub so you can get a shiny plaque from RUclips to hang in your workshop. Won't be long now though!
Thank for helping get there anyway!
Great project again Stuart, how did you find the new spade drill bit?
Hi there! Those drills are vicious! As they pull the bit in with the front thread I thought I was going to drill Thro ugh the piece and the board underneath and my work bench! I was constantly holding it back. I think they would be excellent for quick holes through timbers for cables and pipes.
Nice project
Thanks
Great project. Which is the best glue in your opinion?
Thanks. For something like this use any glue. If you are going for a better quality I would use Titebond
Awesome! How did you get a spade bit the exact same diameter as a broom handle?
B&Q broom handles are 28mm - so just used a 28mm bit
Brilliant my granddaughter loves these too, so I'll maker her some... I loved how you was blowing kisses on the final angle cuts 🤣
Thank you - go for it!
Really Good Video - I do have one question? - Where do you get the 3D mini-me -replicate of yourself on the left-hand top of your shelves - Do you use digital scanning?
Thanks. No, it's the other way around - I've spent years perfecting Grumpy from the 7 dwarfs
@@ProperDIY hi ho

Yes Titebond is quite dark and to start with. Good tip about the fine dust
Proper job again mate, we must be some what the same, cause my kids call me grumpy😂 better then dopey I suppose, quality video again.
I Think its an age thing may be
I couldn't find any Broom Handles at my local DIY store
Can I use Four Candles instead 🤣🤣🤣
i was thinking of actually doing something around that sketch but decided that a lot of the viewers wouldn't get it so changed my mind.
Nice video
Thanks
Have you got something special planned for 100k subscribers?
what tape measure are you using?
I think its called a Stanley 'White' which is one of the best I have but cannot find it being sold any more!
If that house has a woman living in it and has seen a woman's touch, I'm Arnold Palmer. Great video again.
👍
Is it just me that I find B&Q a lot more expensive than other stores of the same type?
B&q have panel saws which is good to get boards cut down
@@ryk3899 where do you buy sheet goods from?

Who's that grumpy sod at the end? 🤣
My family will tell you I'm sure!
On the wonk don't you mean Wonky .... By the way that spade bit is a bit Wonky LOL 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
There's lots of derivatives for wonky. The correct one is always what sounds funniest
When you fill the gaps with the wood/sawdust trick, it's better to sand straight afterwards, rather than leaving it to dry
👍
