- Kyrie Irving. NBA Champion. 5x NBA All-Star. 2014 All-Star Game Most Valuable Player. 2015 All-NBA Third Team. Rookie of the Year 2012. FIBA World Cup MVP 2014. 2x USA Basketball Gold Medalist (2016 Rio Olympics, 2014 Spain Basketball World Championships). Kyrie is the most fearsome finisher in the NBA today. His handle is arguably the best in the league (at worst, he’s top 2). He really does have relentless range, and his creativity and ability off the bounce make him one of the world’s greatest at getting you a bucket (any kind of bucket), whatever the defense, whatever the situation. He has proven in Boston that he is an alpha and a willing playmaker. Add to that his fearlessness, ferocity, and the force and finesse with which he can finish, and you have the foundation for one of the most explosive offensive player in the league. Throw in easily the most outstanding off-hand in the game, and you’d be hard pressed to find a way to stop him. He finished his first season as a Celtic averaging 24.4 points per game (top 10 in scoring, just behind reigning Finals MVP Kevin Durant and reigning regular season MVP Russell Westbrook), in the top 10 in Player Efficiency Rating (PER), ahead of guys like Karl-Anthony Towns, CP, Jimmy Butler, Joel Embiid, and Victor Oladipo. He also finished with the same rating as Chris Paul in terms of Value Over Replacement player, JUST behind guys like Anthony Davis, Ben Simmons, and Stephen Curry. Finally, his offensive box plus/minus numbers round out a Top 5 consisting of himself, Damian Lillard, LeBron James, James Harden, and Steph. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until the next season to see Kyrie ruthlessly run through NBA defenses with the greatest of ease, but what a sight to behold Boston will be then.
The Celtics were 46-20 before Irving went out at halftime with an injury against Indiana. They’ve soldiered on, going 8-3 since, but they will truly miss him come playoff time. A veteran of 3 consecutive NBA Finals, Irving outgrew his injury plagued early career and proven that he is one of the most durable players in the league, especially given the how he attacked the rack so uncompromisingly early in his career. While he talks about his “Mamba Mentality” and how Kobe has influenced him, you can see some of Michael in how he maneuvers around the basket. I’m not making an outright comparison, but while you’re on RUclips, go back and check out some MJ film on how he finished…it’s not dissimilar. Both are essentially ambidextrous contortionists, with equal amount of flair for acrobatics and dramatics. He was also influenced greatly by his godfather Rod Strickland, the handle and craftiness are visible immediately if you know what you’re looking for. Regardless, Kyrie is a whole new breed. Allen Iverson admitted he never had the handle that Kyrie (and Steph) possess, and the way Irving initiates contact and powers through, you can see a shade of the Answer in the endless question that is how to solve Kyrie’s game. Basically, I’m saying this NBA champion is one of the most dangerous dudes on the court no matter who he’s out there with.
I was reminded recently of the running man challenge that Kyrie and Iman Shumpert did back in Cleveland. To start if off, Kyrie had an elbow pad that he ripped off, People’s Elbow style and that made me think…you know what? I’ll say it: when Kyrie Irving has the rock in his hands, it is one of THE MOST electrifying moves in sports. It’s entertainment. It’s borderline art. You think it matters what kind of defensive coverage he’s facing? It doesn’t matter what you think, because when he’s got a live dribble, the defense is dead in the water. He’s getting to a spot and making a shot, that’s just how it’s gonna go. I was primarily talking about defensive schemes overall, like the strong side overload, or walling up and packing the paint, hell, even a zone…but boy, if you think Kyrie is gonna get stopped by single coverage? Well, to paraphrase Dwayne Johnson, you don’t wanna go one on one with the great one (on an island). That itself would be an eyebrow raising tactic. All I’m saying is that he’ll lay the smackdown on any defense, any time.
Obviously it says in the title that this is part 2. I strongly recommend that you go check out part 1: • Kyrie Irving - Superb ...

Kyrie is just a different type of ball handler. Never really uses unnecessary moves, but dribbles a lot. He has set up moves, but just improvises on the fly. He takes his time, but has an insane change of speed. He's fast and has an amazing drive, but can instantly stop on a dime. He's a primary face up dribbler, but has post moves. He basically mastered every offensive move in the game, as well as his fundamentals. Top 3 in skilled players ever, most skilled PG of all time.
Steph.
Bro is easily one of the most talented players to ever touch a ball
That top 75 team is such a fucking joke.
I get you have historical players who need to be on there and players with lots of accolades, but I've never seen a player with his combinations of offensive skills. The only ones close are Curry and Kobe.
He is one of the top 10-20 players you'd ever want to see live because his talent and skill level is that great.
@@TyroneNBAFan Kobe is the closest. Curry ain’t got Kyries bag! He’s 1 of 1
kyrie foot movement is a karate type of moves if you watch him close.
Stargames looks try hard
@@jakeblaze7663 so did jordan

Excellent video as always. Been a subscriber for years now. I know he’s a rookie but I think that down the line Trae Young is gonna need a few of these videos ha ha

Lmao
who else got the best handles in the nba
Do you do any college players or just nba?
ARG32 the college stuff is more difficult because of all the different networks and clearance and stuff, but I wouldn’t say I’m opposed to doing it if I get the chance
Oh ok I was just curious because there are some really interesting players this year thought it’d be cool to see what you could put together for them.
Kyrie irving moves only 1 in the N.B.A.
Hey I'm a big fan of you man and Kyrie Irving. Can you make a mid range mastery for him if you get time?
I get mad when ppl say dame lillard or Kemba walker are better
Evin, Do you think Luka Doncic is the real deal?
ABSOLUTELY.
@@EvinGualberto superstar?
Mike Jones vision, size, shooting, already won at a VERY high level pre-NBA. If he can maximize his athleticism (besides his KILLER deceleration) and tighten up an already nice handle, HELL YES.
@@EvinGualberto Surprises me that you feel that way, looks like another overrated European to me.
Mike Jones well, I guess only time will tell. But I would definitely NOT bet against this kid.
Kyrie a player that could play in any era of basketball look at the contact he makes on some of those finishes whereas a James Harden would just flop and throw ball up in the air. If kyrie avg amount of freethrow attempts like that he be avg 40 no question
Lol harden is an even better penetrator and not far behind as a finisher. Just a different style you don’t have to prop your favorite up against an equally skilled player
did 1:22 count?
yea
I’m pretty sure I remember watching that game live and being pissed at smart because it didn’t count.
Idgaf I'm not guarding folks my teammates would be pissed and I'll say then switch mfs 😭😭😭😐😐🤦🏿♂️🙆🏿♂️
Also @kyrieirving snapped aye look While @gwallasmash talking it's a, Hold on like three people Like hold a conversation now,
2:45 travel
I agree but good finish nonetheless
true but tbh, it's too hard for the referee to notice that was a travelling. it's still hard to recognize it as we are watching replays.
Onjai1999 shit i still dont see it.🤣
That was wild lol
Travel? That nigga took 5 or 6 steps. I understand 3 steps..maybe even 4 if you're fast..but that nigga ran a touchdown at 2:45
