Being a software developer myself (day-job), this Dorico team really amaze me! What they get done with such a small team is incredible! Congratulations on your effort!
Especially excited about true gliss pitchbends (no more steppy-chromatic string slides!); and playback finally observing fermatas is huge - no more workarounds! Also that History undo panel is going to save a lot of time. All the other small updates to engraving, playback, input, editing, and workflow look great. I look forward to trying out the new Iconica Sketch too. Thanks to the Dorico Team for all your hard work and listening to users!
Many many thanks for all your work! Whether the improvements are big or small, they‘re all huge and will make a massive difference to creating orchestrations quickly and creativly.
Wow, Awesome, Anthony ! Thank you for the 5.1 update. I still like all the 5.0 updates shown about MIDI import / export. Were there any MIDI updates in 5. 1 ? I have a 2020 Mac / Intel - at the moment. 3.5 still does great ! Hope to update to the M chip sometime before the next 2 years. Yep, leaving all the others in the dust, as the below user says. I'm still learning cool features in 3.5 - like (shft) 'Arrowing" through the Triplet '3's - which were moved to bottom of note from the Jazz Drum import from Sib. 7.5 Easy to make those (F)lip to top of stave. :~)
New feature in Dorico! Now you can rename your project anytime you want. We've added an update so that you can copy and paste each note separately and even together. Another nice and handy update: you can even change the name of your instrument.😂😂
Great job! I love dorico 5 but I haven't upgraded the new version for saving money, I still use 4, the new feature is not so attractive for me.When Dorico 6 present? By the way , Dorico 5 new theme music sounds like some Japanese Gal-game music. LOL
You can quantise played notes. Or at least quantise the score and then for those notes use Play > reset playback overrides, which remove the MIDI data so that the playback is exactly the same as the notation.
No, the gap between flows is set globally in Playback Options. You'd have to remove it and then add a manual delay with the tempo lane for other flows.
I will never regret the day I ditched Finale and bought and learned Dorico. It has changed my life and keeps on doing so!
Dorico continues to leave every other notation program in the dust. Great work!
wow this update had more improvements for my needs than version 5.0! Great work

Our pleasure!
As a senior application developer I couldn't agree more.
As a Principal Developer I also couldn't agree more, but I get paid more to do so.
As an Architect I recommend that we all agree, though I won't actually be doing this myself.
As a manager I completely ignore the agreement.

Continually reminding me that I made the right choice switching over from Finale 3 years ago. Congrats to the Dorico team yet again!
Wow. So many improvements in this one! I'm looking forward to fermata playback! That's always been a thorn in my side.
Same here!
The best Dorico free update ever!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Happy early Christmas
Monohonic legato is exactly what I needed! Now I’ll just need to redo all of my expression maps to remove the complex workarounds I was using.
So do I... (says John)
Wow! These are huge improvements and all in a .1 release! Can't want to use these new features.
Great work! The gliss playback is the one thing I am most excited about.

Outstanding!
Glad you like it!
Been using Sibelius for 15 years. I’m terrified of the new learning curve but this software looks so much more promising.
We have lots of information to help on Dorico.com/resources
Fantastic! Glad to have decided to switch to Dorico 5 pro this year.
But I'll have to learn all those clips by heart. 😉
Love it :) thanks again Anthony

Muy buena actualización! Gracias a todo el equipo de Dorico (y uno especial a Anthony).
These are massive improvements. Bravo!
Super well done :)
I'm considering about to upgrade from Dorico Pro 4 to this newest version. However, it would be lovely if Dorico will have the app for tablet too🥺🥺
There is already Dorico for iPad: www.steinberg.net/dorico/ipad/
😮 impressive !
Awesome!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳
Playback features like “play on pass x”, “first time only”, or “second time only” are available with this version?
They were added in v5.0 ruclips.net/video/1qe8_8LrItY/видео.html
@@dorico :O I will update right now! Thank you!

Nice work! but still waiting for quantize played notes function - iterative quantize is very usefull
You can quantise played notes. Or at least quantise the score and then for those notes use Play > reset playback overrides, which remove the MIDI data so that the playback is exactly the same as the notation.
@@dorico it is mechanical 100% quantization, but for keep a "live" in performance usually only iterative 50% needed
could you add per flow delay so some movements can be attacca and other not?
No, the gap between flows is set globally in Playback Options. You'd have to remove it and then add a manual delay with the tempo lane for other flows.
@@dorico Would be nice though if there was a setting, I agree.
