As a lover of amber fragrances I had to get my nose on Diptyque's Benjoin Bohéme, a 2015 release from the house that originally packaged the juice in a tall, 100 ml, exclusive bottle and years later, rebottled the fragrance into one of their iconic black smoky bottles we all recognize. Benjoin Bohéme is a very resinous, warm sweet fragrance that also has balsamic facets and overall has a dusty wear. Very comforting and cozy !

I agree with your take. I wish Diptyque felt comfortable communicating these things re: their perfumes. If they were to say "Benjoin Boheme will be 20% more powerful in 6 months so you best purchase from this first batch..." Then it would sell out. My nose struggles detecting the fragrance at the diptyque botique in bev hills. I'm saving up for another gold label in the same collection, Eau Rihla. I recommend you get your nose on it - raspberry + leather.
Fabulous review as always❤I love Diptyque & always keep Eau Duelle EDT & EDP plus Volutes EDP in my collection-lifers! I love that you cover the main fare then often bring in a comparison so that we get to learn about a similar frag🎉 I’m throwing in my vote for your entire collection video because I imagine it’s stunning!🤩
I ordered Volutes and its on the way so I can't wait to get it!! I like to talk about other fragrances that smell similar. I think it helps the description of the scent profile. I know, a few have suggested I show my collection :)
Beautiful products
What a truly wonderful scent. This and Bois D’Armenie are my favorite Benzoin forward fragrances of all time!
It is! I have to check out Bois D'Armenie as I have heard it mentioned alot!! Thanks for watching.
@ since you’re a fan of ambers and benzoin I think you’d enjoy it too. However, the performance and longevity like most Guerlain’s is pretty light
Ugh I ADORE Bois D’Armenie & just paid dearly for a giant bottle😅Sad it was discontinued.
@ yeah the discontinuation is super disappointing, but thankfully I have a 200ml bottle as well
A lovely take! Loving the black aesthetic btw. 😉🖤
Thank you!! and the black aesthetic... I didn't even realize until you mentioned it. It always helps to match I guess ! lol :)
Nice review
Thanks for validating my purchase! ❤ I do wish I had that old gorgeous bottle.
I love that old bottle too :)
Beautiful
beautiful video
Thanks Eloise! Appreciate your reviews. Eau Duelle is in my top 10😁❤️
Thank you!!! I think I am going to order that one blind b/c there is a pretty nice price :) I just don't want it to be too sweet but I don't think Diptyque does "too sweet"!!
@@Eloisescents0309 Eau Duelle is not sweet. I get primarily vanilla and juniper. I hope you love it!
@@Eloisescents0309I recommend the EDT over the EDP for that one.
@@tresbonoeufI love both they are different to me & I love both for different reasons/seasons. I do find it slightly sweet.
Great video thanks. If I may say, very lukewarm. And I appreciate that. I’ve not tried these two but if you love Ambers, I wanted to recommend two I’ve discovered in the past few months that I think are just divine. One is Ambre Russe from Parfum d’Empire, no doubt you know it. The other I discovered recently at Stéle boutique (which is phenomenal btw) and it’s called Towédé from Notes de Bas de Paje. This was a new house to me and I’m so delighted with this beauty.
Thank you!! Yes, I know Ambre Russe and I wasn't crazy about it but I should revisit my sample because sometimes things change. The house of Stéle I have heard of but never tried. I will take a look and I appreciate the recommendation.
I own this gem in an old bottle and love it. Works for both myself and my husband ❤️
I love your channel, Eloise , you have your way with words when describing perfume👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Any chance we’ll ever see your entire collection? 😍
My entire, ENTIRE collection? lol Or the Diptyque collection. Yes I would do either or both... I will try :) and thank you for watching. You are lucky to have the old gem of this!!!
@ honestly I jump on anything that you put out! RUclips needed a reviewer like you, I mean it, so sophisticated and thoughtful ❤️
If you would do your entire collection, I’m sure you would make many people very happy 🤩🤩🤩
@@YaFeya13. I couldn’t agree more!
Nice products
Thank you for the comprehensive review! It’s been on my wish list for a while.
Thank you for watching! It was on my wish list for a bit as well !
I just ordered a decant of benjoin boheme not long ago,and i am excited.to try it❤ i think my decant is from the older bottle so we will see how it will.perform. glad i found your channel. Youre a gem.
Thank you!! Glad you enjoy the videos. The performance is an issue so.... just beware :)
For reference, I have an older 100ml bottle and when it was new, I had the same performance issues. The parfum felt tight and it was short lived. And very, very soft. Move onto the next season and wow, it opened up concededly and the performance lasts all day. It's more of a scent bubble without much sillage, but the performance is great.
Hopefully, the same will be true with the newer bottles. Yes, give it some time, give it some air and it should blossom.
Also, for me, it has always reminded me of Guerlain's Bois d'Armenie. Both are excellent.
Now I need to try SNM's Ambre- Thanks!
Oh really!!! SO Sebastian may be correct then. I am glad you shared that. I like this sort of fragrance so I am definitely keeping it. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts :) I personally like SMN's Ambra (a fresh take on amber but not too fresh!)
Thank you as always, I do not own any Diptyque fragrances, have tried a few but have never liked any well enough to buy a full bottle. Thought I would suggest a few you might like due to previous reviews, Two from Sisley, both are chypre florals-Soir de Lune & Eau de Soir. A leather you might enjoy is Sekushi No.7 by Lengling Munich. Was going through my fragrances and when I came to these my thoughts went to you, they are all available at discounters and won't break the bank, may possibly check Scent Split for samples:) Have a blessed day!
Thank you so much!! I am a little familiar with the Sisley ones but never actually got my nose on them. I will take note of the suggestions! much appreciated :)
Love Diptyque 😇
Yes! I like their fragrances as well!!
Nice video
Nice👍👍👍
Quite by coincidence, I picked up a sample of this in store yesterday, and am testing it side by side this evening with L'Artisan Parfumeur's 'L'eau d'ambre extreme. It is much softer and more diffusive than the L'AP. I love them both , though. Decisions, decisions... Love your videos - thank you! :)
Ah so is it in the same realm of scent profile? I love L'Artisan fragrances and I have one oldie!! It seems according to another person here that Sebastian may be correct about the fragrance performing better with age so ... we shall see. Thanks for watching and I will check out the L'Artisan perfume you just mentioned.
@@Eloisescents0309 Yes! The L'AP is richer and sweeter; the BB is, as you say, softer and more dry. But both very chic and warming ambers ;
@@justinelawtonI also have both & agree with your description. I haven’t found either to have the best sillage but I do think longevity increases in time. Neither is a beast 😝
Hi Eloise. I love Diptyque (I have Eau Duelle, 34 Boulevard Saint Germain and Tam Dao and I want to add to my collection Fleur de Peau, Orpheon and Le Papier soon). I wish you could do a review of two niche houses... Widian and Ojar. I've recently got some samples and they are top notch!
I own Fleur de Peau and Orpheon! I love Orpheon. I want to purchase Eau Duelle and 24 Blvd St Germain (as blind buys)... Is the 34 Blvd St Germain masculine? Thank you for watching and I have one two samples from Ojar (Wood Whisper and the yellowish bottle which I am forgetting the name) and both are a bit too sweet for me. Widian I have not delved into at all. I will try. I like the Ojar quality and style though and was looking at others hoping to find. a less sweet one :) thanks for watching and sharing!
@Eloisescents0309 I own 34 Blvd EDT and it's not masculine at all in my opinion. Unisex, just right in the middle. It's classy, aromatic, a bit woody, little floral and spicy. Not too sweet. I think you would like it as it seems we have a simillar taste. I have a sample of OJAR Wood Whisper and find it nice but little too sweet for my liking. I have Red Redemption as well and enjoy that a lot! Want to try Infusion Velours, Stallion Soul and Eagle Eyed Stranger
@Eloisescents0309 If you can get Widian samples please try Sahara (love, love, love it - such a cosy scent) and Liwa, Baniyas, London (leather and raspberry)... I would love to hear your opinion on those ones. Quality is excellent
@@Eloisescents0309I own the EdP of 34 Blvd St.Germain and I agree, it’s not masculin but I would say that it could be unisex. It’s a bit woody, spicy, a bit powdery and a bit ambery, the opening also has a very, very light rosy floral note, more a whiff, which all blends together with the rest. It’s quite a dense fragrance but still airy enough. From what I can remember, the EdT is a bit less spicy and woody
@ Ok I will take a look. Thank you!
