But why did he paint the guard as a Black man? It is incredible and all his paintings are awesome. I just noticed it and I’m confused.

@@JulieSims-ug8fi I am not disparaging the Black guards at all. I just thought it was odd to paint the horse as he is, but not the guard as he is

1. He started his painting when a different guard was in duty and he did the guard before specifying the horse.
2a. He put the guards face in the shadows, thereby masking it look darker, rather than black.
2b. By keeping the guards face in the shadows, without a lot of detail, it now does not represent any particular guard, but all of them.

Never a dull moment with him not knowing what he will do from one minute to the next . He his like lighting when he going to bit . He has such a big flowing on face book and you tube . So many people need a floor length mirror before going out for the day!!
These people don't see the horse as a living being, a living creature like the rest of us. For them, it's just an object. They don't have any respect, not just because it's a horse on duty or even because of its Royal function, but mainly because it's an animal, it deserves respect.
Taking a photo with Ormonde is like ordering from the Soup Nazi.

So I noticed that the guard in the man’s painting is Black. Only the guard on Ormonde is white. Why would he do that? I’m just asking.
Possibly because his Previous Model was/or Is Black. Could be a commissioned piece.
Could be Commissioned Painting.
Watching it again I notice the horse only has socks on his hind legs. Ormonde had three socks, so the painting is not of him specifically. This too, could be either a specific horse in duty earlier, or a way to represent all the Kings horses.

The Household Cavalry is made up of two regiments. The Life Guards wear a red tunic with a white “plume” on their helmets. The Blues and Royals wear a blue tunic with a red plume on their helmets. They take turns on guard duty at Horseguards (that you’re watching now).
If you look closely you will see those wear gold helmet plumes wear red tunics and those wearing red plumes, blue tunics. The red/ gold are Lifeguards and the blue/ red are Blues &Royal. The 2 Regiments that make up the Household Cavalry.
They alternate daily between the Regiments at Horseguards ( seen here) but are on parade at events together .
I prefer John filming at least he comments on the horses and what is happening
