This is a beautifully kept Jaguar XJ-SC example that has been maintained by only two owners from new and displays a gorgeous Dorchester Grey exterior with Savile Grey Leather, chrome wire wheels, and auxiliary hardtop included! This particular example is a rare find in the luxury market as it represents one of just 1,710 built for the 1987 production year! A fantastic investment example!
    History About Jaguar's XJ-SC Model:
Introduced in 1982, the Jaguar XJ-SC Targa Cabriolet was an early design solution to provide consumers with a convertible version of the popular XJ-S Coupe. Exceptionally unique, it consisted of two removable roof panels, and a folding rear section similar to a 1930's landau cabriolet style roof. Used together or individually, they offered owners an easy way to choose the style appropriate for either their mood, or weather conditions. An accessory hardtop was offered to fit in place of the soft top framework for the colder months that provided additional insulation and a glass back window with electric defrost. These XJ-SC models were manufactured from 1982 until early 1988, with just a total of just 5,013 produced for the entire world. Of those, 3,415 would be left-hand drive, with 2,915 were equipped with the powerful V12 engine and automatic transmission. Rarely seen on the market today, they have become a unique conversation piece at Jaguar events and club gatherings.
About Our Previously Sold Jaguar XJ-SC Model:
Seen here is a 1987 Jaguar XJ-SC Cabriolet finished in a gorgeous factory color combination of Dorchester Grey Metallic over Savile Grey leather interior. Under the bonnet lies its original 5.3L High Efficiency V12 SOHC power plant with durable 3-speed automatic. Features on this special XJ-SC include climate-controlled air conditioning, on-board trip computer, power windows/locks, power adjustable mirrors, cruise control, AM/FM/Cassette audio system, telescoping steering column, burled elm dash and door caps, rear locking storage compartments, body side moldings, glove box vanity mirror, locking gas cap, and more. In addition to all other features, this example also comes with the auxiliary hardtop!
This lovely 2-owner 80s Jaguar example sold new to a Ballwin, MO resident who enjoyed it thoroughly for the first 13 years of its life. The luxury classic would then be sold, to the second owner in July 2000, with just over 50,000 miles on the odometer. This particular Jaguar enthusiast was a talented body shop owner who was rather particular of the quality of finishes his collector cars displayed. The new owner would have this example fully refinished in the early 2000's in its original color utilizing a base coat/ clear application. The results are excellent! Even the factory pinstripe was re-applied using a painted stencil. The weather stripping on the doors, t-tops, along with, convertible top seals all remain in excellent condition with exception to some minor tearing at the driver side entry where shoes likely caught the soft rubber over the years. All factory VIN stickers are present on all panels.
It retains all of its original Triplex XXX glass, factory leather interior, tire changing tools, original alloy spare tire with cover, convertible boot cover, t-top storage bag, and clean Carfax report. The factory leather-wrapped steering wheel is included with the sale, but this Jaguar XJ-SC is currently fitted with a beautiful MOMO hardwood steering wheel. Additionally, the factory alloys were replaced with optional Jaguar 15” chrome wire spoke wheels wrapped in Pirelli P4000 Super Touring tires measuring 215/70R15. Today, the odometer reads only 58,509 miles! Recent service since May 2020 includes oil/filter change, new battery, new air filters, hood support struts, new transmission spring mounts and bushing, fuel sending unit, front shock absorber bushings(4), coolant flush with new thermostats, rebuilt brake master cylinder, rear brake pads, front brake reservoir replacement, brake fluid flush, new steering rack boots, and retrofit to R134a with air conditioning service. It continues to impress in all respects and should be an excellent addition to any Jaguar collection!

And as I understand only about 1500 actually brought to the US. I have a black 86 XJ-SC bought new in Germany and imported into the US by my buddy's dad then fitted with a Lister ground effects kit and gold BBS wheels. I ended up with it whin my friend died a couple of years ago. Absolutely beautiful car.
