Just wanted to add a clarification on Fake Out since I think I could have explained it better: You can still click Fake Out on the first turn EACH TIME the Pokemon with the move hits the field (e.g., you lead with it, you switch it out and bring it back in, etc.), this still functions like normal. Once it's past the first turn (each time AFTER the Pokemon has hit the field), the game won't let you click it (this mainly nerfs your ability to get around mindgames around Sucker Punch, Thunder Clap, etc. & if you get Encored, you start Struggling). Quite a minor adjustment that's not super impactful but one that was still worth a mention. It's not just a 1-time use now.
I tricked a choice scarf onto an incineroar on its switch in, it used fake out, and then the following turn it was forced to struggle as a result of this. I assume it was the second slot Pokemon for my opponent and they got locked into that when clicking attack xD
At the 6 minute section where you talk about the available pokemon, it looks like tge image you used has comments from people on the right side that has some profanity in it. I'm not bothered by it but I know you run a very clean channel and wanted to let you know.
@ProfCypressYes it was, it was also given to Mega Golurk. You probably heard it already, but Mega Excadrill also received Piercing Drill which has the same effects of the new nerfed Unseen Fist.
Which i think is really stupid, this game is supposed to be the future competitive format, so making everything worse just so new players don't get frustrated feels dumb and the Abilities the new megas got are just insulting
@Pairfait_Cookie_Fan123 Stupid to you, maybe. As a new player, I really welcome not having such a high knowledge barrier at the moment to just figure out the cadence of a competitive match. Do you guys want this format to grow, or not? Cause this is how you grow it.
@TinyPrinceGames Which still doesn't give them a good reason to just cut the 6v6 battels out of the game. They are going to lose the whole draft league community. Which is a shame. They could even have added the whole smogon playerbase to their ranks with giving them a 6v6 ladder. Now they will lose part of their core audience.
@justme14357 There are Replica Teams, but in Justin Tang’s video, he said it looks like it requires you to already have the Pokemon for that to work. I haven’t tried it myself yet though.
Good video. Much more even keeled than others I’ve watched this morning. I understand people hate change or when their toys get taken away but give this some time to breathe and become what it is meant to be As a noob to VGC, this is so much more accessible to me than having to play SV, ZA, Arceus and S/S to catch up. If only I could transfer my garchomp from platinum….
Assuming mega gengar gets up perish with full health (maybe follow me on its partner) and then protects the next turn, Golurk is only doing 60-70% through protect with STAB super effective Headlong Rush, and is best-case guaranteed to be one-shot in return at -1 SpD with a Shadow Ball from a no-investment Gengar. Phantom Force is a guaranteed one-shot through protect, but its two turns, and also does that without Unseen Fist.
From what I understand from the Japanese news, which has more information than what we got in the US store side in game, is that items and pokemon will rotate between seasons/regulations and not just pokemon/restricteds
Seeing Archaludon lose Body Press kinda made me happy, now Goodra-Hisui has something that Archaludon can't do even if Archaludon is still better than it in every way that matters. I need these small victories for my boi, he's been down on his luck for years.
Starting with fewer items is certainly an interesting change that we haven't experienced before. I suspect they want certain items, like the 20% type boost items, to get some use before they bring back the generalist power items
That's honestly not a good idea tho, like it does move a lot of the power in this format towards megas without any way to match it, and type boosting items had some use even when the better items were used. (Mystic water urshifu, black glasses kingambit) also there are a lot of them who had utility which is missing, like covert cloak, safety goggles and clear amulet, which make disruption really good in this format
I know it’s partially my fault for getting my hopes up for Drizzle Drampa, but it’s also their fault for saying it literally SUMMONS STORMS upon mega evolving 😂
I’m about to start Champions in a few minutes, so this was actually very helpful to watch beforehand. For those who are unaware: don’t get Meganium from the recruit option as you can get it plus its Mega Stone for free in the Battle Pass.
I was thinking about that too. If you put it next to a faster Earthquake user (like Scarf Excadrill or Garchomp if Skarmory is Adamant) that is faster you could probably KO almost any Trick Room setter. Sadly though it struggles against incineroar fake out turn 1.
Mega Victorybell is going to be such a meme, can't wait to watch it knockout someone because they don't realize how much damage that ability can do when you knock it out, but I have zero expectation of it being any sort of meta relevant
@wormfury1823 Corrosion isn't incredible either tbh, being able to poison an enemy in doubles (without a damaging move, since corrosion doesn't stop steel type immunity to poison-type damage) isn't that impactful
Can I say I'm not too mad about the lack of Choice Band/Specs and Life Orb? It's going to bring down the power level of the format significantly, which should be a breath of fresh air with the years of fast paced SV we're used to
That will not be the case, now only strong attacking megas like ZardY will be viable, as you still need damage output. You have less damage dealing options and you will see the same 10 mons every game
I haven’t seen anyone talk about it yet, but mega clef is super interesting to me. Magic bounce + follow me is a combo we haven’t had before on any pokemon. Super good at ensuring TR goes up, for instance
Yeah problem is you're using a mega evolution to do that Meaning if the opponent just goes for damage you either waste a mega or an item slot on a pokemon
With no good damage boosting items, running a defensive mega makes no sense. You need your mega to hit hard considering there are less damage dealing options now
This is the best and most reliable, as well as reasonable, video about champions so far out of the 10.000 videos I’ve been assaulted with since this morning. Thanks for your fantastic work.
What stood out to me more is the omission of the change to the Parental Bond interaction- it still hits twice in gen 7 but the only the first triggers the attack boost
But its great for beginners to not have an overload and paralysis of choosing. They want to bring in new people, so having everything available from the start would be an instant hit in the face for new players
@Meetwadu learn better when introduced slowly. This way they can first learn about stats and moves and not having to worry so much about item distribution.
I really wished we got a Mega with Drizzle, being the only weather that can't be triggered with a mega evolution. And based on the ability-less Megas left, we probably won't get it. Love having my favorite weather be left out like that. (:
@tehjefeyjust shut up. The lack of substantial battle items is an objective criticism of the game, ESPECIALLY when Gamefreak claims that Champions is going to be how they host their official tournaments from here on. And don’t even get me started on the lack of a 6v6 mode
I used to watch ur content like 7-6 years ago when I was just beginning to take competitive serious, but kinda fizzled out from ur channel when I moved to just playing singles. with this game out, I still remember your channel teaching me a lot so im back!
Thing about trining out side of chempions- its one or two battles to complitly change a pokemons ev in chempions. So just do that. Moves abilitys and neture are more worth the time
Hey Aaron, big fan. Very excited for the content on the way. One suggestion, thumbnails. I think getting someone to do really cool thumbnails for you goes a long way
That encore change is kinda sad. My favorite S/V team had an Life Orb UBM with prankster encore support. Turn 1, I would use Hyper Voice or Blood moon with UBM Turn 2, I would use encore target UBM, and UBM would use Vacuum wave, and I got a priority Hyper Voice or Blood Moon. This was so fun. I won so many games off of surprising my opponents with it.
Crazy how you were my first VGC video I ever came across, a Torkoal & Oranguru team. Now I'm playing Champions, with Torkoal and Oranguru. What a world! Also been pairing Oranguru with Mega Drampa since its nice and slow, Instruct Calm Mind is very fun!
This is such a great rundown! As someone who owns Scarlet and Legends Z-A but has never played competitive Pokemon with any seriousness or outside of Showdown, I'm curious to see how the initially limited environment affects things; a unique lower-powered environment with no pre-established meta yet seems super appealing, and I'm curious to see which Pokemon will be worth pulling over from Home because I have never done any of that.
Legendary refresh pull. Keep it up Cybertron! Your content got me into VGC back in SwSh, and I already know I'll be heavily relying on your vids to keep up with Champions news
I wish they added all the full evolution lines for the Pokemon in here. They could also run some silly NFE events. Hopefully they add them with eviolite soon
I'm definitely putting some time on Mega Floette early in the format. It seems capable of hitting very hard even at low sp.atk investment and a lot of available mons would be useful supports. I'm thinking of some kind of bulky offense team with stuff like Floette, Volcarona and Sinistcha for redirection (no Safety goggles yet helps), Palafin and Incin. Still trying to find the 6th member, maybe something like Kommo-o to help check steel types under the rain.
I have been using Mega Scovillain with Flamethrower, Leech Seed, Rage Powder and Protect and he's insane. pair him up with strong attackers and have protect on most of your mons and the mileage of those burns turns/burning up tailwinds and trick rooms feels like a blast to use. Alolan Ninetales as a partner in particular feels like a fun weather war against rain and sun, even though it's a Max HP and Speed Aurora Veil Set, it continues to do numbers for some reason.
Ngl as someone that always played pokemon but never got into competitive I hope for the opposite, I hope they keep the formats limited like this cuz at the end of the day the goal of this game is to bring more players into the game and this is SO much more manageable to learn and beginner friendly
I used it and it's good but not the best right now the Charizard Y are running rampant even on not effective defensive pokemon it's doing way too much and there's not a lot of ice pokemon that can use it... And because there's no assault vest it's not like u can change and expect to survive
@thewheeloffate0yeah i’ve been using it and it’s been a little rough so far. found some mild success pairing it with garchomp, incin and whims/corviknight.
Just a heads up: there's a curse word in the "Pokemon in the game" section in the twitter comments :P Just in case you wanted to block that out somehow. Thanks for the content as always :)
I always say that if someone's old enough to be scrolling the internet unsupervised, they'll almost definitely already know swear words. I think he's fine. Plus, it's not in the first minute of the video so youtube's auto-moderation shouldn't nuke the video for it
@pippastrelle I personally don't think it's a big deal and majority of people probably feel the same way but he's officially associated with Pokemon and whatnot so I imagine it could be a sensitive subject.
As a casual player who's interested in Champions, I was so offended at the removal of Archaludon's loss of Body Press until you explained why. Went from angry/confused to "Oh...... That actually makes sense." lol
Champions feels very geared towards onboarding new players. Small dex, missing a lot of powerful items, limited Megas. It's not as steep as a learning curve
I've been loving how accessible champions has been early on, with the exception of 2 of the megas being locked behind a paywall. I finally got to run my bellibolt that I was messing around with on showdown at the start of s/v, but didn't use due to the inaccessibility of changing tera types. Also played a couple games playing around with Mega Meganium, and honestly with the limited time I had playing with it it might actually be my favourite mega to play in doubles, looking forward to seeing people bring out it's potential.
3:41 I’m surprised that he’s happy about the status chance reduction on dire claw, I would’ve thought he’d want those moves to have more of a chance to status, especially burn
2:07 I love your content since it is very insightful but as an audio listener, you should list off what is available. I listen to videos while working and there are times where I can’t pull my phone out to see what you are talking about.
I really like this format so far, I was planning to have Pokemon that want like Assault Vest or Life Orb etc. but I'm managing fine without them, I kinda like these lower power formats. It reminds me of like when VGC moves to a new generation for the first year and we have a more restrictive format with a smaller regional dex etc. This is very much giving like VGC14 vibes to me.
I really hope the freeze nerf makes it so they buff ice type moves to be more consistent. And for future Pokémon that could be cool as well. For example an ice type like amoongus with a spore like move that has 100% freeze chance
I have been having fun trying to make Mega Ampharos work. They gave it Parabolic Charge and Rising Voltage, which seem like two really interesting options. I know it's not one of the new ones, but i still hope we see it after all the new ones get their videos!
I think a video on best responses/individual mons into rain would be a great vid for everybody, because it’s a very set layout of mons (Peli Basculegion Arch) and is clearly gonna be relevant at the start of this game
I would love to see a mega victreebell team, innards out is such a cool ability. Thanks for making these videos I’m looking forward to seeing them all.
Can’t wait to watch more of your future Pokémon Champions videos! I will make sure I comment on and like each and every one of them. 👍🏻 A new era is upon us, the CybertronVGC Pokémon Champions era! 😍
Love the summary & analysis breakdown. I'm a huge fan of more limited/lower power regulations, it feels like there will be more room here for funny/niche teams. Minor feedback! Be watchful when recording full screens of Twitter (or any socials) - there's a swear word on screen for several minutes at 6:00 - the RUclips algo can and does read on screen text, and this can affect how much your videos spread.
It was certainly interesting that they not only have a limited set of pokemon. But also held items and mega evolution for the beginning of champions, I'm sure ovwe time they'll add in the other gimmiks, pokemon, held items, and remaining mega pokemon
I've been running mega drampa and mega golurk on a hard trick room team. Orthworm putting Golurk behind a sub so it can't be intimidated, Oranguru using instruct for double earthquakes, golurk healing Orthworm with Earthquake so you can get Incin/Oranguru back out safely is crazy. Mega Drampa isn't quite as powerful as Golurk in that regard but you can use Sinistcha to play around with its HP and try get more Berserk boosts
Just wanted to add a clarification on Fake Out since I think I could have explained it better: You can still click Fake Out on the first turn EACH TIME the Pokemon with the move hits the field (e.g., you lead with it, you switch it out and bring it back in, etc.), this still functions like normal. I tricked a choice scarf onto an incineroar on its switch in, it used fake out, and then the following turn it was forced to struggle as a result of this. I assume it was the second slot Pokemon for my opponent and they got locked into that when clicking attack xD
stupid change unecessary
At the 6 minute section where you talk about the available pokemon, it looks like tge image you used has comments from people on the right side that has some profanity in it. I'm not bothered by it but I know you run a very clean channel and wanted to let you know.
TLDR the move does not fail anymore when selected twice in a row?
If you encore fake put it will make them struggle hahaha
It's quite notable that unseen fist has actually been nerfed to do 25% damage when hitting through protect which is a large Urshifu nerf
Wait Unseen Fist WAS nerfed?
Mega golurk gets unseen fist and it also got nerfed.
@chungus4life818mega golurk has unseen fist and it was nerfed
@ProfCypressYes it was, it was also given to Mega Golurk. You probably heard it already, but Mega Excadrill also received Piercing Drill which has the same effects of the new nerfed Unseen Fist.
Golurk has Unseen Fist as displayed both visually and audibly commented on by Cybertron .
So we know Urshifu is nerfed.
This really feels like a "we held everything back so we dont overwhelm NEW PLAYERS"
Pokemon has always had a "every game is someone's first" mentality
Which i think is really stupid, this game is supposed to be the future competitive format, so making everything worse just so new players don't get frustrated feels dumb and the Abilities the new megas got are just insulting
is that the case with tcg live after all these years aswell?
Part of what helped it get big. I've never played a pokemon game
@Pairfait_Cookie_Fan123 Stupid to you, maybe. As a new player, I really welcome not having such a high knowledge barrier at the moment to just figure out the cadence of a competitive match. Do you guys want this format to grow, or not? Cause this is how you grow it.
@TinyPrinceGames
Which still doesn't give them a good reason to just cut the 6v6 battels out of the game.
They are going to lose the whole draft league community.
Which is a shame.
They could even have added the whole smogon playerbase to their ranks with giving them a 6v6 ladder.
Now they will lose part of their core audience.
Made it to Masterball tier with a 21-1 record using a Char-Y team earlier today, can't wait to show you all the battles and team soon...
Are there still rental teams?
@justme14357 There are Replica Teams, but in Justin Tang’s video, he said it looks like it requires you to already have the Pokemon for that to work. I haven’t tried it myself yet though.
I tried recreating your team based on the screenshot and got washed 😅
I guess I’m sticking with Sun Room until you drop that video
you are working fast congrats
Good video. Much more even keeled than others I’ve watched this morning.
I understand people hate change or when their toys get taken away but give this some time to breathe and become what it is meant to be
As a noob to VGC, this is so much more accessible to me than having to play SV, ZA, Arceus and S/S to catch up. If only I could transfer my garchomp from platinum….
Mega Golurk with unseen fist is THE Perish Song Gengar counter
Wolfe in shambles
I mean yeah but that implies that you run Mega Golurk in preparation of running into this niche strategy
Wait, they nerfed Wolfe? Talk about taking strays...
@chrayezfrom my experience, perish song Gengar relies heavily on getting protects off, even if Golurk doesn’t oneshot it severely cripples it
From what I understand from the Japanese news, which has more information than what we got in the US store side in game, is that items and pokemon will rotate between seasons/regulations and not just pokemon/restricteds
That's actually pretty cool
Would love that. Looking forward to seeing how this first meta forms
Any idea when the mobile release date is?
@Jake.The.Snake.not for a while like a year
It comes out in June lol what are you saying?
The dichotomy of wolfe's day 1 champions video vs Cybertron's is so funny.
I'm glad Freeze got nerfed, but I'm still waiting for Frostbite to come back. I never understood why that was only in Legends Arceus.
It was because its a fast paced turn system
@NaturalFlameOn so is vgc in general
@NaturalFlameOn that doesn't answer the question. A special version of burn is very much needed in Pokémon
@luluzin5022 no it isnt
What's the Freeze nerf? Less turns being frozen?
Didn't expect Archaludon losing Body Press
Thank God
RIP the long boi. At least he can still use Aura Sphere
Noooooo damn it
Anyone who actually plays this game LOVED this change
I did not know that until just know. I was fighting against one today with body press in mind
The worst part about Dondozo's non-inclusion was that it was in the game's *advertisement.*
It feels criminal in a sense.
They will add it eventually, most likely
there are a few things from the game's advertising that aren't in it yet, they will obviously be added in the future and probably soon at that
It's also in the opening scene🥀
One thing I found funny is that the Rocky helmet is featured on the shop icon in the menu, but is not yet available.
The best part of dondozo not inclusion is that i don't have to waste a slot move for haze
Seeing Archaludon lose Body Press kinda made me happy, now Goodra-Hisui has something that Archaludon can't do even if Archaludon is still better than it in every way that matters.
I need these small victories for my boi, he's been down on his luck for years.
Also stamina beat up rain would be insufferable in limited dex
Hawlucha 100% caught my eye. Entraintment no guard has to be hilariously busted
Worry Seed stocks rising 📈
To stop 1hit ko moves.
Wow that's a cool strategy
entrainment no guard fissure / sheer cold / etc
it's finally time to rebuild my awful vgc 2010 team.
Got your shuckle , so enemy got gastric acid
Ah stalling with shuckle never be this good 😂
Starting with fewer items is certainly an interesting change that we haven't experienced before. I suspect they want certain items, like the 20% type boost items, to get some use before they bring back the generalist power items
That's honestly not a good idea tho, like it does move a lot of the power in this format towards megas without any way to match it, and type boosting items had some use even when the better items were used. (Mystic water urshifu, black glasses kingambit) also there are a lot of them who had utility which is missing, like covert cloak, safety goggles and clear amulet, which make disruption really good in this format
there are literall no defensive items, so at least the choice of items it's not a good idea at all
They made it simple for new players pretty much. Im notna big fan or it either. Its very simple which is fine but ther eis no depth to it
@djuseppe97sash and sitrus and leftovers?
20% boost items should not exist...
Man I really wanted Drampa to get drizzle, having a mega for each weather type would've been so cool
The dex entry for the mega is a lie now ;-; we wanted drizzle gramps
I know it’s partially my fault for getting my hopes up for Drizzle Drampa, but it’s also their fault for saying it literally SUMMONS STORMS upon mega evolving 😂
I’m about to start Champions in a few minutes, so this was actually very helpful to watch beforehand.
For those who are unaware: don’t get Meganium from the recruit option as you can get it plus its Mega Stone for free in the Battle Pass.
Thanks for the heads up
@shinyseasaltMy pleasure!
Are you sure? I'm pretty sure it's only from the premium pass.
@PeterBoggs op is right. Meganium is the starter you get for free. The other two are in the paid track.
@Meetwad Guess I didn't look too hard when I "unlocked" emboar and it required the premium pass, and just assumed they were all like that.
Mega Skarmory being able to ignore Rage Powder and Follow Me could make it a very potent Trick Room counter
I was thinking about that too. If you put it next to a faster Earthquake user (like Scarf Excadrill or Garchomp if Skarmory is Adamant) that is faster you could probably KO almost any Trick Room setter. Sadly though it struggles against incineroar fake out turn 1.
Could be fun leading with farigiraf with “armor tail”
@magnusr.poulsen2437 Farigarif is good. I have been using Tsareena to block priority moves as her Queenly Majesty is the same as Armor Tail.
@RedeemedSteve Yeah I have been using Scarf Garchomp with Sand Veil and Tyranitar to set sand.
Mega Victorybell is going to be such a meme, can't wait to watch it knockout someone because they don't realize how much damage that ability can do when you knock it out, but I have zero expectation of it being any sort of meta relevant
I'm so sad it could have been so good😢
corrosion was right there T-T
@wormfury1823 Corrosion isn't incredible either tbh, being able to poison an enemy in doubles (without a damaging move, since corrosion doesn't stop steel type immunity to poison-type damage) isn't that impactful
Victorybell
Adaptability Glimmora seems like a ton of fun.
4:02 It seems like salt cure was nerfed as well, maybe doing half as much chip as before
Can I say I'm not too mad about the lack of Choice Band/Specs and Life Orb? It's going to bring down the power level of the format significantly, which should be a breath of fresh air with the years of fast paced SV we're used to
no bro, it will only buff the bulky megas, cause now you can't match their defenses without your mega
@piedra13 You mean, bulky megas will actually have a purpose? And do what they’re designed to do?
Yeah the meta in S/V is such a nightmare
That will not be the case, now only strong attacking megas like ZardY will be viable, as you still need damage output. You have less damage dealing options and you will see the same 10 mons every game
@NamerGaming which we already saw happen with scarlet and violet anyway with all the items, do y’all doomsayers even think before you type?
I haven’t seen anyone talk about it yet, but mega clef is super interesting to me. Magic bounce + follow me is a combo we haven’t had before on any pokemon. Super good at ensuring TR goes up, for instance
Yeah problem is you're using a mega evolution to do that
Meaning if the opponent just goes for damage you either waste a mega or an item slot on a pokemon
@kingt1954 Yeah but you don't necessarily need to mega Clefaible either.
@kingt1954 you can run multiple mega stones on a team and decide which one to evolve or even bring to the game depending on matchup.
With no good damage boosting items, running a defensive mega makes no sense. You need your mega to hit hard considering there are less damage dealing options now
@NamerGaming You really don’t? Dude, the insanely strong DEFENSIVE items are gone too. You can’t just ignore that lmao.
This is the best and most reliable, as well as reasonable, video about champions so far out of the 10.000 videos I’ve been assaulted with since this morning. Thanks for your fantastic work.
Biggest change is full time Aaron baby!
Ive always thought freeze should be changed to special burn
Legends Arceus did that by replacing Freeze with Frostbite, which deals damage each turn and lowers Special Attack.
4:10 technically Kang "lost" Power up Punch in gen 7 VGC as it was a transfer exclusive move
Kanga was given PUP back in Z-A, that's why it's worth pointing out
What stood out to me more is the omission of the change to the Parental Bond interaction- it still hits twice in gen 7 but the only the first triggers the attack boost
It starts with whims arcanine so free beat ups
The item availability was very jarring at first.
It still is
But its great for beginners to not have an overload and paralysis of choosing. They want to bring in new people, so having everything available from the start would be an instant hit in the face for new players
@shycano5685 not everything but should have a lot more known items so players can LEARN how to play with them.
@Meetwadu learn better when introduced slowly. This way they can first learn about stats and moves and not having to worry so much about item distribution.
@shycano5685brother you act like these items are rocket science. The items available rn are genuinely dog shit
4:14 the graphics you’re using look really clean/professional!
I really wished we got a Mega with Drizzle, being the only weather that can't be triggered with a mega evolution. And based on the ability-less Megas left, we probably won't get it. Love having my favorite weather be left out like that. (:
GameFreak: "this is where we're sending competitive players"
Also GameFreak: "BrIgHtPoWdEr"
Nah. We love oran berry. 100% oran berry usage
Cope.
@tehjefeyjust shut up. The lack of substantial battle items is an objective criticism of the game, ESPECIALLY when Gamefreak claims that Champions is going to be how they host their official tournaments from here on. And don’t even get me started on the lack of a 6v6 mode
This is a VGC channel, here evasion is a meme
@edman9953 COPE.
I used to watch ur content like 7-6 years ago when I was just beginning to take competitive serious, but kinda fizzled out from ur channel when I moved to just playing singles. with this game out, I still remember your channel teaching me a lot so im back!

That encore change is kinda sad. My favorite S/V team had an Life Orb UBM with prankster encore support.
Turn 1, I would use Hyper Voice or Blood moon with UBM
Turn 2, I would use encore target UBM, and UBM would use Vacuum wave, and I got a priority Hyper Voice or Blood Moon.
This was so fun. I won so many games off of surprising my opponents with it.
I'm already having so much fun with mega crabominable so I like this meta
Crazy how you were my first VGC video I ever came across, a Torkoal & Oranguru team.
Now I'm playing Champions, with Torkoal and Oranguru. What a world!
Also been pairing Oranguru with Mega Drampa since its nice and slow, Instruct Calm Mind is very fun!
Skill Swap Mega Starmie
Holy cow
Skill Swap Huge Power on say Extreme Speed Dragonite
@VainGlassI love both of those pokemon so this is hype
Even without Skill swap Mega Starmie is still getting 334 max attack with it's mega which is 50% more than Mega Rayquaza gets.
Archelodon losing body press was honestly really depressing lol
This is such a great rundown! As someone who owns Scarlet and Legends Z-A but has never played competitive Pokemon with any seriousness or outside of Showdown, I'm curious to see how the initially limited environment affects things; a unique lower-powered environment with no pre-established meta yet seems super appealing, and I'm curious to see which Pokemon will be worth pulling over from Home because I have never done any of that.

So happy to see Aegislash. I love him. I was worried he wouldn't make the roster.
me too, im currently working on an aegislash mega drampa team and im looking for ppl to help a bit, if you are interested
I've got my eye on adaptability glimmora, that thing looks nuts
I'm definitely putting some time on Mega Floette early in the format. It seems capable of hitting very hard even at low sp.atk investment and a lot of available mons would be useful supports. I'm thinking of some kind of bulky offense team with stuff like Floette, Volcarona and Sinistcha for redirection (no Safety goggles yet helps), Palafin and Incin. Still trying to find the 6th member, maybe something like Kommo-o to help check steel types under the rain.
Pyrax?
@josiahbranham1157 Look at me mixing up languages all the time x')
I meant Volcarona sorry!
@FloRoux42thank you
I have been using Mega Scovillain with Flamethrower, Leech Seed, Rage Powder and Protect and he's insane. pair him up with strong attackers and have protect on most of your mons and the mileage of those burns turns/burning up tailwinds and trick rooms feels like a blast to use. Alolan Ninetales as a partner in particular feels like a fun weather war against rain and sun, even though it's a Max HP and Speed Aurora Veil Set, it continues to do numbers for some reason.
I really hope we get more additions quickly. There is a lot missing that really limits both variety and fun. Items, mons, mega abilities
I would not expect anything to be added until a new format. So at least one month, possibly two until anything substantial is added.
@UncalibratedAimbotI was thinking about that and the update every format thing actually makes a lot of sense
Ngl as someone that always played pokemon but never got into competitive I hope for the opposite, I hope they keep the formats limited like this cuz at the end of the day the goal of this game is to bring more players into the game and this is SO much more manageable to learn and beginner friendly
The first cuss word has made it into the CybertronVGC universe 7:15
i’m really looking forward to a mega frostlass team. very exciting to have a fast strong pokemon that can set snow and use blizzard/aurora veil.
So excited for all the upcoming content! Happy to have you trying this full-time, and I wish you the best of luck!
Grimmsnarl was my biggest missed mon. It was a huge part of what I was planning.
Small Format Tail/Room All-Star Passimian!
Great video to start off this era of the channel
8:28 Aaron lowkey calling out content creators that farm Pokemon champion vids before they have all the info.
It's game freak's fault for advertising these pokemon only for them to not be avaliable to begin with 💀
As a casual player who's interested in Champions, I was so offended at the removal of Archaludon's loss of Body Press until you explained why.
Went from angry/confused to "Oh...... That actually makes sense." lol
8:02 hilarious comment on twitter about the elemental monkeys lol
Why do ppl hate them so much? I like the element monkeys
@syrupsippinniggathey are weak
@FruitOfLoops they have good bst but pisspoor distribution
Aaron, super excited for this full-time content journey of yours. Thanks for sharing your story, looking forward to seeing how far you take this
8:30 I mean...Dodozo was in the trailer.
blood moon also
I think this is the first time a new regulation/rule set has not only restricted the available pokemon, but also item availability
I think i get why there's no life orb/Choice specs band. They want your big damage guy to be your mega.
This theory actually makes sense by just looking at the choice items. Specs and band arent there but scarf is
The available items gives me "in game play through" vibes
Please do some guides for new players that never played VGC before
Just watch tournaments and take notes on what you see
@csquared3247 as a new player, I don't want to take notes and I want everything spoonfed to me. Don't you want to grow the game?
Giving unseen fist to more than just Urshifu is totally chaotic and I kind of love that 😂
Champions feels very geared towards onboarding new players.
3:41 I’m surprised that he’s happy about the status chance reduction on dire claw, I would’ve thought he’d want those moves to have more of a chance to status, especially burn
the most important question is how accurate will o wisp is in this game
Looking forward to more champions videos!
no way the video is 12:25 long funny deltarune number
Love the giant Piplup in the back there!
2:07 I love your content since it is very insightful but as an audio listener, you should list off what is available. I listen to videos while working and there are times where I can’t pull my phone out to see what you are talking about.
Fair feedback, will try to do more in the future!
The giant Piplup in the background is a nice touch 🥰
2:26 holy voice crack bro, at least im not the only one
Let’s go my full time goat, Side note you are looking great my boy
I really like Mega-Meowstic. Being able to use prankster and have trace for when it would come in handy is really fun.
So dondozo is not part of the game but it was one of the first pokemon who showed up in the champions trailer? Interesting
woah these move and status changes are big time -- also great presentation format, thanks a ton!
Magic Bounce Mega Clefable sounds pretty cool.
I really hope the freeze nerf makes it so they buff ice type moves to be more consistent. And for future Pokémon that could be cool as well. For example an ice type like amoongus with a spore like move that has 100% freeze chance
Champions is in maintenance so I can watch Cybertron now
i’m soooo looking forward to more regular uploads from you! and great video.
I have been having fun trying to make Mega Ampharos work. They gave it Parabolic Charge and Rising Voltage, which seem like two really interesting options. I know it's not one of the new ones, but i still hope we see it after all the new ones get their videos!
This is my first time diving into competitive so this is going to be a huge learning curve for me.
man I really wanted them to keep Tera, it makes the game so much more fun
my goat (CybertronVGC) is gonna pop off on RUclips in the next weeks. Excited for this
I think a video on best responses/individual mons into rain would be a great vid for everybody, because it’s a very set layout of mons (Peli Basculegion Arch) and is clearly gonna be relevant at the start of this game
Champions is gonna be mt first step into any sort of competitive VGC, I still got a lot to learn so I feel these videos will help a lot :)
Thank you so much for not making and speculatory content before release.
Really helpful initial breakdown
I would love to see a mega victreebell team, innards out is such a cool ability. Thanks for making these videos I’m looking forward to seeing them all.
Can’t wait to watch more of your future Pokémon Champions videos! I will make sure I comment on and like each and every one of them. 👍🏻
A new era is upon us, the CybertronVGC Pokémon Champions era!
This was so helpful! As far as mega build videos, I'd love to see some options for mega chimecho ^^
very high quality video! thank you so much! good luck on your creator journey :D
As a beginner I'm glad they are taking everything step by step. It also allows for interesting strategies to surface
Im just getting into competitive as a player after being an avid fan since 2013, thanks Aaron for another great vid and can’t wait for the others!
