My desire...relaxation and looking for purpose in retirement (retired from 44 years as software development engineer on March 29 2024). So far, enjoying relaxation, no more deadlines. Discovered running up and down small hills at the park, talking with someone on a trailside bench, mindfully chewing a leafy salad with berries for breakfast, the slowness of time, having no purpose at this moment. Thanks, Jonathan!
Thank you Jonathan and team. A really thought provoking talk tonight. What I desire was an interesting investigation, I have long been un-materialistic to the extent it irritates my husband as I find no joy in purchasing 'stuff'. I did focus on what I desire for my adult children, I am coming to the conclusion that I involve myself too much in wanting to 'help' them. I try to reason that I am not controlling them, just wanting them to learn from my experiences. How wrong is that 😀. Looking at it from the angle of 'I desire them to become more motivated' is going to be interesting. A most helpful talk, my adult children will thank you for it when I reevaluate this particular desire.
"The possibility of freedom is here!" Indeed it is.
All we have to do is remember this!
