    Just got mine and all I can say is thanks for this video, there are a lot of things on this Scooter that arent exactly instinctive to teach oneself especially the central control knob.
    I could have waiting until I got mine and then spent a couple hours sitting on it and reading the manual but thanks to having watched your videos a few times before getting it I already (mostly) knew how to operate those features.
    Thanks again!

    Great review. My first scooter was a pcx and now I have xmax 300. It’s a great scooter with enough power, I would also consider a nc750x DCT in the future.

      The Xmax 2023 is the best Maxi scooter on the planet for price with its huge storage speed gas mileage comfort etc.....6299 out the door is what I paid Nov 2023 😂

    Thanks for your video. I've bought my AK 550 last year and had kinda rough time getting used to ride it because of my low back issues too. If you would like to get it to run better, I can recommend putting Techpulley sliders in it 16 gram and a Rapid Bike Easy module. I've done those two things, and now it runs smooth as butter, and has a lot faster acceleration. As standard it is set very lean on the air/fuel ratio, so that makes it a bit hard to run it comfortly at low speeds. But Rapid Bike Easy fixes that.
    Just my two cents :D. Take care.

      I have heard of a module for my ktm390adv. I will look into the one you recommend for ak. Seems all new bikes are too lean. Thank you.

      @@omoddthey are. I asked the dealer which sold me the bike, and he said that it's a problem with any new bike today, because of the strict regulatives about how much CO2 they may spit out 🙄.
      Rapid bike easy is such an easy way to deal with that problem, and it really runs like butter afterwards.

      Options are limited for cvt tranny in the U.S. Maybe the X-ADV if it comes here, like the idea of foot pegs and style. I rode my AK yesterday, it fits my physique/lower back issues very well when I use the passenger pegs, very planted and sporty. Still not a big fan of clutches, but keeping my KTM 390 adv for a while, these two bikes seems to complement each other.

    Another great and informative video. I have to ask, what was or were the issues with the c400gt that detoured your interest? The power, leg room, price , comfort or just bang for buck?

      I have a review video when I test drove it. expense, rough ride, lack of utube repair/maintenance videos. I had test drove the AK a week prior which spoiled me.

    For a new rider, if you are looking for a Kymco in the U.S., I would go with the X-TOWN 300i ABS. So far it has been great and I am a new rider. From a support and aftermarket parts point of view, you will have the same issues. Kymco really wants you at the dealer to do repairs and they really don't like the idea of adding aftermarket accessories, but there are a lot of dealers considering Kymco is relatively new in the in the U.S.

    • @ariesmarsexpress
      @ariesmarsexpress 28 дней назад

      @@brunothepug8807 I didn't because it was twice the price of the X-Town the BMW had a similar issue. It is a nice bike though. It is pretty much the same bike they might even both be manufactured by Kymco. For sure the BMW is. I wish Suzuki had not gotten rid of their 650.

      What is hard to believe 100% of the BMW C400 GT is made entirely in CHINA !!!! All parts, motor, panels, everything is made and assembled in CHINA . Why is for profits ......and that is sad
      I've just purchased in Nov 23 a 23 Xmax 300 which is made entirely in Indonesia ...BUT is well made and quality is perfect !!!! I think for the $6299 out the door price is the best buy for the money.......I tested all of them and this Xmax has huge storage 75mpg going 70mph......easily goes 87mph ....I've cruised all day long distances at 75mph easily !!!!! Very comfortable and roomy and much more agile because of it weighing 397 lbs as opposed to a tank 500 lb scooter like all the others !!!! It zips around as if it's a smaller bike......I'm sold on the Xmax 300 ......I studied for months and rode all of them and I'm happy !!!!

    I'm really confused. I'm stuck between xmax 300 and AK 550, which one do you think is better?

    • @omodd
      @omodd 3 месяца назад

      I have not ridden the xmax. If I could go back in time, I think the xmax would have been better for me than the honda pcx which I ended up buying 1st. More heavy rider, and fwy friendly, yet not too powerful. The ak550 is a handful for new riders, weight and power and cost. And not as good with mpg either. Fun If you have more experience.

    Unfortunately, this video was not around when I bought my 2022 Kymco AK 550 around six months ago. I'm 23 and have never ridden a scooter or a motorcycle. I also have low back issues like you. It's very painful to ride and the throttle is very sensitive and I've found myself whisky throttling the first few times I rode. I was able to ride around a few blocks without incident and make a few turns. But I'm pretty scared to ride it and I still have $9,000 left in payments.

    • @omodd
      @omodd 4 месяца назад +2

      I think the ak is too powerful for beginners. I keep two fingers straight over my front brake which is good for emergency braking, but also reduces whisky throttle. Lots of riding straight, in stop and go traffic, will make you comfortable with throttle.

    Can you lane split on this motorcycle?

    • @omodd
      @omodd 14 дней назад

      I do not lane split often, even tho i’m in cali. On local multi lane roads, i do sometimes. I find the cvt smoother w/ no fear of a stall compared to my ktm390adv, when i am squeezing between cars, the kymco front mirrors fold in a little.
