I think draftsman should be licensed to stamp drawings. They perform the same duties and have the same education as a architect. There’s many draftsman that have a degree in architecture or engineering

Not if they have not done the extra two years education and registration.

How many g b of ram does a draftsman use for producing drawings so as not to spend an unnecessary amount of money for too many g b of ram that's not needed.

Words of advice watch out using the words architect or architectural as ARIA does not like that. Myself being a registered building designer in Sydney registered thru the BDAA had to change my business name because ARIA took offence to the use of the word " Architectural" in my business name and my formal qualification from TAFE NSW in 1991 lists my qualification as an "Architectural Technician". It’s crazy.

Thanks for sharing. I am now considering my career as a residential drafter. Is it possible for me to ask you some questions through email? Thanks

So if I study Building Design at TAFE I can be licensed as well?

If you wanna study for a diploma course for building and design in architecture, it's a two year course for full time students. But now at Granville tafe campus where I'm now going which is in the western Sydney area; I was told that they wanna narrow it down to one year for a big course which people wanna do. I will be doing a statement of attainment for drafting in cad software through tafe digital. That means, studying on line which is a short course your able to compete within 12 weeks. But they don't always offer it-: you have to be fortunate to enroll for a course like that online. It's equivalent to a diploma course for building and design. However, the statement of attainment has less modules than a diploma course for building and design people go for; and I was fortunate to enroll in this course through tafe digital. If you're able to enroll in the statement of attainment for cad software in drafting, it can better prepare you as a student for a diploma course for building and design in architecture; to study at tafe campus or either online if you wanna pursue it; or either go contracting for other people or open your own business after completing the statement of attainment for drafting in cad software. No, you will not be licensed if you study building design at tafe or online but you are only qualified to produce drawings not design them. You can do a masters degree at uni to be an architect to design homes which is further up the scale. That means, to train for a masters degree at uni to be an architect there are more building codes. But to train to be a building designer which is a new name for people who wanna train to be a draftsman at tafe or online, there are less building codes. But to be licensed, I'm not sure-: you will have to do your research on that one. To my surprise, to train to be a draftsman at tafe, it's a higher qualification than the masters degree people study for at uni. If there is a licence, feel free to reply for I may wanna still pursue it.

Also, if you wanna one day open your own business in this industry, make sure you're not spending more than you need for the amount of gigabytes of ram for your computer. I have 8 gigabytes of ram for my software and it seems like enough for me; and I was talked into getting 16 gigabytes of ram which I'm now speculating that it may be too many gigabytes for my computer and cad software. There are always people out there that are always trying to make an extra buck out of you so I suggest to do a research first before you dive in. You can save an enormous amount of money if you wanna by a computer desk top and a tower for your business. Hope this was helpful for you.

Also, I forgot to mention to you while I'm at it. You will need a graphics card which is different from a cad software. All the best, take care.

@@anthonybutto1925 16GB of RAM is the new standard bare minimum yet we still get cookie cutter bs coming out with 8GB RAM.
      Come on now.
No one is that hard up for spending too much on RAM when a graphics card is the most expensive piece. CPU then motherboard. You'll pay more for storage if you don't cheap out on that. Then RAM.
      Good luck with being stingy.

@@psyolytesaille I'm not sure for I'm only a student but if this is how much is needed for someone like me starting from scratch then that's good enough for me. If you're an expert in it and you advise anyone for that kind of information then I can okay it.
