    You'll get there in the end. Hopefully it's something simple and you won't need a new oil pump. I'm learning a lot from this

    My 3TA did that when a bit of grot got lodged in a ball valve on the oil pump. The only time it ever did it. The grot looked like a bit of gasket about an eighth of an inch long.

    I run an '80s dry sump 600cc single and have to follow quite a strict procedure for checking the oil level.

    I watched both the videos on this event. My questions...If the engine wet sumps on engine oil, do you think the sumped oil can flow the other direction and get into the gearbox? I saw you calling attention to the pin hole locations in previous video. And in the event of contamination of either oil supply from the other, do you think it might cause damage to either engine or gear box?

      I very often use engine oil in my gearboxes, but I have gear oil in this one. I doubt there was any cross contamination as it happens, it turned out to be engine oil, after all, and even if that got into the gearbox, it would do no harm.
