    I agree with the workers! The staff worked so hard! And there will be no hotel without these hard working people!!!!

    This is a new generation. More educated and will not work just to have a job. They want to make a livable wage so they can take care of themselves and their families.

    The hotel is pretty nice looking, but surrounded by a lot of competition. 4 star hotel, just increase the service fees on the guests 🤔

    If understand the workers frustration but if you walk into a interview and you are offered X amount of money to perform a particular job. You agreed to take that job for the X amount of money. Now why are you coming to protest that you are being paid X ???. You are not being held down and being forced to work against your own will

    They need to get paid more than they are being paid. Jamaican government and hotel owners have gotten rich over the tourism in Jamaica. Everyday Bartlett him rave about how much money Jamaica has made off tourism, yet where are the better roads, schools, hospitals, infrastructure, etc?!. Jamaican government and hotel owners sick my stomach.
    One day all knees shall bow and confess the sins we have committed in the name of greed and selfishness towards each other!!

    Look. If all these people get raises then they charge foriegners more to come so less arrive so they need less wages. Due to needing less workers.

      @kenrickfrancis9699 common math. If too much pay in wages and customers leave to pay less elsewhere then people lose jobs.
      Ask the people who worked at Safeway in Atlanta what happened after management raised prices to pay highe wages. And now no Safeways in Atlanta. Ask yhe ladies that had been on yhe Safeway Retirement program love the no retirement only social security.. because the company closed due to low sales due to high wages

      @yagga8885 3 дня назад +5

      @@brotheradamI don’t think they’re asking for “too much.” That’s the false narrative that these hotels sell. They make an ungodly amount to be profitable even with the meager increase the workers are seeking. The people are not looking for Ritz Carlton salaries.

    • @brotheradam
      @brotheradam 3 дня назад +1

      @@yagga8885 do you realize the taxes they pay daily for the rooms? Each room is taxed daily by the government, even if empty. Plus they must replace beds and other items on a regular basis, and look at the cost for matresses, and everything else.
      But we say the workers must get higher pay. I agree decent pay is needed BUT, we must also be careful that they do not force places to close, due to the high prices.
      Look at the number of older hotels, like Decameron Runaway Bay, that used to be 5 star but now are barely able to stay open. Or Inn on the Beach in Oche, where the idiots ran off the only decent offer that was looking at the hotel, because St Ann figured that the price should be higher for the property..
