I have one since I was 18 years old. Yea I didn't know, I went to a gastroenterologist I told me u can live with it. He didn't told me what was , but gave me a cream to use but it didn't work , as it didn't bothered me I continued with my life, and oh man it was the worst decision BC it turned in something worse and I've been suffering with it for over 2 years. Bleeding and pain, went to 2 different doctors they wanted to perform a colonoscopy and surgery right away.
So I have to thank you Dr Chung BC you are the only that gave me hope and courage to not give up , and have faith that it has a solution. So thank you!

I totally agree I had a horrific experience but long story short even after surgery removal my skin tag is legit back and in same place which I was told it could come back but it really does add aggravation to a fissure problem. Thankyou so much for being so relatable and real!

It's refreshing to hear you address these as a real problem. I had to be pretty direct and insist that my doctor remove my skin tags. Even then, he only removed the largest one and I had to go back and insist that he remove anything that wasn't smooth. It was such a relief and didn't hurt nearly as bad as what they told me it would.
I am a bit baffled that you didn't talk about botox. All these problems stem from the spasming and over-tightness of the internal sphincter. To me that screams for botox to relax that muscle temporarily and allow things to heal. As a gay man, there's no way I will ever allow someone to cut that muscle. Forget it. Not going to happen. But botox seems like a perfect solution.

Great content doc! Thank you so much for all the information you share with the community! Could you please advise on what I can do with my situation?
Went through multiple laser treatments, ended up with a huge anal fissure (thanks to your videos got healed).
However on my last visit the proctologist advised that the tissue where all the laser treatments were applied is not healing properly, during the holidays I had more alcohol than usual, however I am under treatment for almost a year now, is there anything I can do better to support the healing process? (Currently under treatment with antiinflamatory suppositories)
After the fissure healed, I am left with two new things, an extra thick skin hanging from where the fissure was, literally hanging out, it's not painful anymore, could this be healed by the steroids cream as advised here?
Another issue is a huge internal pile that is coming out right at the edge of the anus after each defecation, this is a bit painful but after using lidocaine based cream to push it back it doesn't hurt at all, how can I best address this issue?
    Thank you

Hey there, I really enjoy your channel. I now have a decent sized skin tag after a painful two years of dealing with a chronic anal fissure. I believe I got this fissure after a hemorrhoidectomy. My surgeon told me to use miralax I believe to the point where I only had very thin stools leading to likely some anal stenosis and ultimately a fissure. I believe I finally have the fissure healed (combination of home dilation and topical nifedipine). The skin tag I have now is somewhat bothersome, occasionally gets hard/irritated and I think I'd like it removed. However, I'm a bit worried about my healing after removal given my recovery after hemorrhoid surgery. I myself am a physician and do not think this skin tag will resolve on it's own even with steroid cream. Do you believe cryotherapy/laser therapy will leave less of a wound/scar and allow for easier healing that an excision (which I think I likely won't do given prior surgery). Thanks so much!!

Thank you so much for your video, finally a great doctor that understands! I have a question that I hope you can help with. I’ve been struggling with a fistula and fissures/sentinel piles/ skin tags for years and have just had my 4th surgery. First was to remove a fistula, which then created a fissure and sentinel pile, I then had a Botox injection and laser treatment which didn’t work, I then had the same procedure again which didn’t work,l and left me with a fissure and another skin tag but further outside the anus ( very tricky spot). I was then getting silver nitrate treatment to try cauterize the wound as it simply would not heal. After some time I had the advancement flap surgery 2 weeks ago, and the removal of the skin tag, and after two weeks I now have two new skin tags. It seems this nightmare just won’t end and I don’t know what to do. How do I remove the skin tags without creating more fissures and break this horrific cycle?

I had sentinel pile, fissures on anal verge and hypertropic papilla and they give spasms. Removal of sentinel pile and the fissurectomy on anal verge removed the spasms in that area. I will get anal papilla removed soon in India. LIS gives incontinence. Its a mucosa skin problem and not a muscle problem. Pain is something patients can tolerate which goes away overtime but not lifetime incontinence by LIS.

I have been suffering for over 5 years now. I stopped going to the doctor after two years because they were not helping my pain. I develop a skin tag after my first child 28 years ago however, it has never given me problems until the pain started happening. 100% has caused so many problems for me over the past 5 years. Skin feels thin and burning all the time I feel like crying. I use a bidet and use general wash. I’m very careful. I have never been constipated. Any advice for me?
