Super cute! It would be great if I could find large covered paper clips with the red-and-white stripes, they look like Candy canes and just add to the cuteness! (This method would work for making baby booties too!)
Cute updated version of an OLD (Classic) crochet ornament! One of the first things my aunt ever showed me how to crochet. Unfortunately, you did not correctly use the paperclips on both of the skates. On one skate you did it upside down and the other skate you did not crochet over the inner wire. They look much better when the paperclips are more hidden. Also, a skate can't "skate" if there is a wire hanging out of the bottom on the upside down paperclip. You need the biggest flat part of the paperclip to be the bottom. Another tip: The fuzzy ends of the yarn that you snipped off could have been made to be like tiny pom-poms instead of snipping the yarn and throwing it away.

This came up on YT which is usually music related for me but loved watching these cute booties coming to life. Who knows I may take up crocheting in the future. Looks a very relaxing and creative hobby.... A YT algorithm took me to TwoSet Violin and as a result, I'm now learning to master this wonderful instrument so guess YT wants me to crochet next! Lol.

my mother has a pair of these that she made in the 1980's. It is very pretty on the Christmas tree. Red skates with white trim.
My mom had the same pattern ornament! Lol must have been a trend then. (I don’t know when she/someone made them, but we had them in the 90s at least)
