Look at his hands. And when he plays the E, you always hear the low D first and he hammers down on the root E. I'm guessing D standard because he isn't barring, but it certainly isn't E standard.
Anyone know how they mic'd this? I'm working on something similar and I need to know how many mics, what type of mics and placement to record large room tone. It would be a huge help!! Thanks!
+blankbrian Consider how low the guitar volume is and the room reverb coming off his voice, I'd say maybe one microphone was used and possibly attached to the camera. I can't see any microphones anywhere. The acoustics of that empty pool would bounce the sound back, you could easily stand maybe 4 or so metres away with a decent mic and get a good sound. Wouldn't surprise me if you could achieve something similar with an iPhone 6.
You dont need much with a room like this, my friend. But it would be pretty sweet,to throw a couple of old Neumann U87's in a room like this, if you happen to have some extra cash lying around.
