Masterful fold, one I don't think many people make, even at *this* level! Also, folding so quickly leaves me to believe Tony had him on his exact hand, one that completes on the turn. At least a set of 8s, 7s, and yes a lot of kings, considering the preflop action. This is a hand where most people go broke with aces, myself included.

One of the most difficult but most important parts of getting better at poker is having the discipline to fold. It's so counter-intuitive to a beginner and even intermediate player but hands like these just prove how fold discipline is probably the most profitable attribute a poker player can have. We've all been in spots where we absolutely know we should fold but we call anyway and immediately regret it, and this hand is one of those spots that 95% of poker players including myself would've continued on... Tony G gets the rep of a loudmouth gambler but this just shows how actually good at poker he is.
I used to play a lot of FPS and I was kind of the guy that would get people acclimated to the team. I always told them the greatest skill you can have is knowing when to run away. As a developing poker player, I had to learn the fold lesson the hard way and am still learning it from time to time. It always sucks ass when you get the run bad and the few times you actually have a hand, you have to let it go. I don't know if I will ever get over this one fish binking his 1 out 3 times in the same hour against me. I have stacked that guy so many times it isn't funny and yet every time I see him, he brags about it. The annoying part is when he tells the story, he literally says, I got my money in bad and sucked out, and still has the audacity to brag about it. Rant over, I saw that guy today and he told me about that time. Best part is I have gotten like 5x the money he got from me that night since then, and he still brags about it.
Tony G is so entertaining yet so skilful. Most people would take time before laying that down but he knew instinctively he was beat. Brilliant. His fake tantrum was awesome, he’s been on the Airball side plenty of times.
Nik Airball did his homework with his 'I played it like a set' which is a reference to an old hand where Tony yelled this at his opponent when he got it in bad and won with a suckout.
Yep 100% agree, he bet too much and also too quickly. If he had stalled after the 6 came for even 10-15 seconds and possibly even checked it he could have been paid.
I feel even LESS bad for him the way he played his aces and his bitch-ass attitude towards others And of course the guy with the WORST etiquette would be too much of a pussy to aggressively shove on the flop to try to get Nik Airball off the hand.
I used to enjoy televised High Stakes poker way back when PAD still existed, one of the reasons being that most players had a certain style about them, at least they weren't goofily celebrating a fold by your opponent. This, however, is hard to watch.

The fact that this is against Airball is what makes Tony’s lay down so good that it might be bad. Everyone knows Airball has a huge preflop range even in three-bet pots. Against most players in this spot as Tony G, you can accurately rule out Airball’s position having any T9, any T6, or any 54, and certainly KK. For check-raise flop and bomb turn from most players in Airball’s position, you’re looking at 88, 77, or air like QJs. We know, however, that Airball himself can have all straights (suited and unsuited), all sets except KK, and all kinds of crazy bluffs (like 74c) even as played. I think against the maniac that can have any two cards, aces on that board is just too strong to fold. A lot of people talking here about the live read on Airball of betting so fast and big on the turn means he’s strong should watch more Airball. The dude does the same with absolute garbage. Maybe Tony G got some other live tell.
