The reason why macaw parrots were eating soil is because they lack of Calcium and soil has a tiny amount of calcium. Not only macaws but also other animals like elephants and goats etc can be seen eating or licking soil or rocks because they need calcium to live a healthy life. Sometimes when animals need a lot of calcium in their diet like elephants, they wander into huge caves and eat lots of rocks that contains calcium. So the reason of Jack eating soil is because he needs Calcium to complete his diet. So, I request you dear Turab Bhai or Sabtain, if you're reading this, please provide some calcium to your birds to avoid them eating the soil and gaining infections from the mud ❤ Thanking you.
