A hushpuppy is some wet cornmeal rolled into a ball with some onions and corn and deep fried. It is standard to serve hushpuppies and french fries with fried fish where I grew up.
Five fish and only one over 14". This is only applies to the southern part of the everglades. Once you get up to Lake Okeechobee the bag limits are 5 fish but they have to be 18".
I can see the gator sittin about 25 yards out just chilling watching y'all. That's what I'm talking about son! I was fishing in a old rock quarry in St. Augustine chest deep with the tide in. No gators but Tarpon and sharks for sure. It was a blast.
Walter, the everglades are flooded right now. No place is good. When the water starts to fall areas like Holiday Park, Sawgrass Park, The Holylands can all, be very productive.
There are a lot of snakes in the glades, but I have never had an issue with any of them. Had to wait out a moccasin for a few minutes once so I could get through a small flowing cut. But again not really an iissue.
The bowfin are native so there are no issues with them. The snakehead is a killing, eating and baby laying machine that has raised concern from most all of us anglers in South Florida. They are excellent table fare...almosr as goos as a quality piece of salt water flesh.
+Richard Lollie Thank you Richard. I have to watch what I say at times. But i see a decline in mens attitude towards the outdoors and all the fruit of the land which this great country was built on.
In Louisiana it's 10 bag limit and no size limit, Some lakes it's 8 bag limit with protected size limits that differ. I think False River(actually a lake) is 5 bag limit over 14"
Capt, Thanks for the reply... i could have easily done the Google route, but i'm lazy.. thought i'd ask you! hope you dont mind... thanks for the information.! Cheers!
I've heard if you catch from like canals,Rivers and even the everglades, that you can't eat the fish because the water is dirty. Is that true or if you clean it good then you can eat it?
Shane, I enjoy your videos and have certainly learned a lot about fishing from them. Quick question, have you ever considered filming some salt water fishing?
I'm up here in Pa. and I wish I was out there with you guys fishing. So much damn catfish eating up the game fish we barely see any good bass fishing like you guys were getting. Keep posting these vids, yeah yeah.
There are so many bass in the glades that the theory is if you take out some juveniles then you will allow more food for the bigger bass. Not a bad theory....unless your trying to get some meat for a fish fry...then it sucks!
Captain Shane I used to fish with grandpa outta Port St. Lucie when i was a kid and still have fond amazing memories of fishing in Florida. Oh I miss it. Thanks for the vids bro. They are cathartic for this dude.
love ur videos captain! u are quite the pro! Florida is my dream place cause i love bass fishing and do a lot of it up here in NJ, but the bass fishing stinks up here :( cant wait to fish down there when im older! i love ur videos and u do a very good job! keep up the good work! are u using carrot stix in the video?
Haha... Fish Fry...Now we are talking. I'm curious to know what recipe you use on your bass? I mean is it store bought or you dabble in your own flour/meal/seasoning?
John the limits have changed since this video. The limits are 4 fish up to 16 inches and one over per person. At the time of this video it was 4 fish up to 14 inches and one over.
Hey captain, all your vids are pretty dang awesome! I'm plannin on comin down to the glades sometime to get away from small town GA. I was just wondrin, is that a shimano Sedona you got there?

Well i got a jon boat, which im actually tryin to sell so if u know of anyone that would be great. I tried joining the bass resource forum but they never sent me the email i needed to confirm the log in. Anyway, i think with a jon boat I'd be able to get through. Thanks capt!

Thanks pardner. The fishing is phenominal. Gotta keep some things on the DL.
Yes, i think i have tried it all. The rattle trtaps really fire up the gators so I rarely use them.
Yes you can....but my lips are sealed. Gotta keep some spots under wraps. Thanks for watching and I hope you understand.

Thanks Jeremy!
No problem bub. Your videos get me pumped about fishing. Matter of fact I want to go right now.
The glades cover 6000 sq. miles. I have sunk a boat in there and have gotten lost a handful of times. But that was before I got a GPS :o)
Walter, the everglades are flooded right now. No place is good. When the water starts to fall areas like Holiday Park, Sawgrass Park, The Holylands can all, be very productive.
I saw your other video you are an awesome fisherman!
I just use a standard cornmeal coating and peanut oil.
Saros 2500. Love it, have 4 of em.
There are a lot of snakes in the glades, but I have never had an issue with any of them. Had to wait out a moccasin for a few minutes once so I could get through a small flowing cut. But again not really an iissue.
