honestly those who said it's only Taki fanboying on Niki aren't aware of the fact that some people tend to be "unexpressive" like in Niki case. He didn't cry and seems "normal" even when he choose Taki to the ground but he's actually felt heavy inside. But his feeling is genuine, he's truly happy to see Taki going to I-land, and even on the newest episode you could see a bit of their cute moments during the time they showed the 3rd test. Taki tried to sing and Niki teased him while smiling saying they should do the dance together. I hope I-land and Mnet will show more of their friendship's moments in the next episodes. And I hope they could debut together ❤

They take whatever moments there are and view it from the perspective of Niki that they've already formed: for example, when Taki got into I-LAND, and we saw Niki's reaction, even though the captions/subtitles said "as expected" showing that Niki felt happy for Taki, I saw people twisting the moment to say that Niki looked upset or jealous instead. To me, it was clear that he was happy for Taki, and even if it weren't, I'd rather give anyone the benefit of the doubt rather than label them the devil. But I'd also try to be understanding if some of that happiness for his friend, or at least his expression of that happiness, were dampened because of his own sadness in leaving I-LAND. There are many people who would find it hard to smile and congratulate someone who benefited because of their failure... and even though I think we should be understanding of this aspect of humanity, I'm also really proud that Niki obviously wasn't among those ranks--that he really did feel happiness for Taki, even if tinged with some of his own sadness for himself. To add on, we can see that Niki doesn't easily openly cry. In the newest episode, he was obviously devastated by not being able to rejoin I-LAND after taking on the leader role and trying so so so hard for both himself and the team, only to fail again and again. But while the others cried when they came back after the performance, he didn't express those same feelings that he was undoubtedly also feeling as obviously or openly. He didn't break down in their arms but rather even tried to smile to reassure them. If people try to look at things without their bias against him, and recognize that our understanding of him is limited by whatever few minutes of him (out of the many hours in their week of hard work) that M-net chooses to feed us, they will realize that he really does struggle with his decisions and considers the people around him a great deal. (He was asking Taki what he should do about being a leader for the fourth challenge--you could tell he wanted to give his best for his last chance, and that he was really stressed out when leading in the past, but he still chose to prioritize the team instead of himself ㅠㅠ)

I do think he should talk to Niki if he really was hurt so that they can work it out together. Niki a kid a 14 as 2 years later for my comment. Niki had the guts to make correct decision. By being practical and objective, without emotional attachment. Decision that lots of adults to this day cannot do. He is a leader of his generation and should be celebrated
Oddly enough, when Ni-ki voted Taki to Ground was when he gained my respect and became my favorite. He did not have to tell Taki he voted him to go to Ground but he still took him aside to explain why he thought it would benefit him more and I agreed with his reasons. They both trusted and respected each other: Ni-ki trusted and believed in Taki's ability to work his way back to I-land, and Taki trusted and respected Ni-ki's opinion as a more skillful dancer. But even more than that, the fact that Ni-ki was objective about it and made the decision after carefully evaluating the participants and didn't vote based on his personal relationships was very mature and professional. Taki is good at locking but his other dancing and performance aspects were weak when compared to the other intro performances and you can see the other participants also thought that when he was dancing to EXO's song. It actually angered me how Ni-ki sacrificed his time and performance to teach the other participants and most of them didn't even appreciate it. They were acting like spoiled, entitled kids. I almost threw my cup at the wall when they acted like it was Ni-ki's fault that they were leaderless when he said he wanted to concentrate on his performance instead of leading at one point. You have people in their 20's with years of trainee experience and yet they're forcing the 14 year old who is still struggling with Korean to lead them all? At least when Jay was there, he helped co-lead but once Jay left, no one else stepped up to help. I was so mad I wanted Ni-ki to just leave them floundering on their own so they could get kicked off and leave the people who were willing to be serious and work hard for their dream.

Fam, Mnet is showing just the bad side. Everyone has their own bad sides, but Niki is so hardworking. He is just realistic and straight to the point. 2ヶ月振りに観にきました。16人から12人に絞る時の投票でNI-KI君がTAKI君を選んだ時は情に流されずに実力を見てるNI-KI君はメチャ大人だなぁと14歳というのが信じられない思いでした😊日本の方はこの時の2人の感情は理解出来てたようですが、韓国の方にはNI-KI君が冷酷な子と思われたみたいで叩かれてて哀しかったな🥺でも2人は、いまだに連絡も取り合ってるし、TAKI君の話をする時は凄く優しい顔になるのがNI-KI君の本当の姿です💕

馴れ合いだけじゃやっていけない。
自分も部活でスタメンやポジション決めを任されたこともあったけど、やっぱり実力、他メンとの相性をよく見極めなきゃいけないし、そこに私情を入れるわけにはいかない。
特にニキは仕事としてアイドルを目指しているから部活なんかよりよっぽどシビアな考えを持つのも理解できる。
よくがんばったね。ほんと愛してるよ。ずっと応援してるからね。
後半ほんと目立たないとアイランドに上がれないし自分のことを見つめ直して良さを磨かなければいけない状況の中でみんなにダンスを教える選択をしたニキ本当に偉かったと思う色んなこと葛藤している姿に心を撃たれるし、タキも幼い中よかれと思ってやったことが裏目に出てしまったり辛かっただろうなぁ。アイランドは見ていて総合的にしんどい。今はタキのデビューも確定しているっぽいからそれが楽しみですね。

Oddly enough, when Ni-ki voted Taki to Ground was when he gained my respect and became my favorite. He did not have to tell Taki he voted him to go to Ground but he still took him aside to explain why he thought it would benefit him more and I agreed with his reasons. They both trusted and respected each other: Ni-ki trusted and believed in Taki's ability to work his way back to I-land, and Taki trusted and respected Ni-ki's opinion as a more skillful dancer.
But even more than that, the fact that Ni-ki was objective about it and made the decision after carefully evaluating the participants and didn't vote based on his personal relationships was very mature and professional. Taki is good at locking but his other dancing and performance aspects were weak when compared to the other intro performances and you can see the other participants also thought that when he was dancing to EXO's song.
It actually angered me how Ni-ki sacrificed his time and performance to teach the other participants and most of them didn't even appreciate it. They were acting like spoiled, entitled kids. I almost threw my cup at the wall when they acted like it was Ni-ki's fault that they were leaderless when he said he wanted to concentrate on his performance instead of leading at one point. You have people in their 20's with years of trainee experience and yet they're forcing the 14 year old who is still struggling with Korean to lead them all? At least when Jay was there, he helped co-lead but once Jay left, no one else stepped up to help. I was so mad I wanted Ni-ki to just leave them floundering on their own so they could get kicked off and leave the people who were willing to be serious and work hard for their dream.
Seriously, I had to do a double take on this comment as I thought it was mine but could not remember writing ✍️ it.
So thank you for stating exactly how I was feeling during the time watching Iland.

even both ni-ki and taki are young, they're so mature. they didn't bias anyone, taki don't care what other people say about ni-ki's action since he knows ni-ki well. it's hard for ni-ki to choose his own bestfriend, but still I think he knows he need to be honest and all of the participants have the same chance and want to debut.
ni-ki not selfish at all to vote for taki, he so mature. I will agree if anyone say ni-ki selfish if he didn't vote taki and want taki stay in iland just because they're bestfriend, how can you eliminate people who deserve better? I'm not trying to say taki not deserve it, but even taki agree with ni-ki's action. both of them know taki will come back to iland even taki was eliminated to ground. they trust each other and the friendship so beautiful.
if they're still people wanna blame ni-ki for this issue, sorry to say but you're not mature enough. ni-ki could make mistakes, but he still young and have much more time to learn and grow. even now he started being taller than his hyungs. he's loving and caring without mnet evil cut and edit. Fam, Mnet is showing just the bad side. Everyone has their own bad sides, but Niki is so hardworking. He is just realistic and straight to the point. Its unfair people are judgung him this way when he was just transparent. He is so freaking good. Id love to see him and bts together.. hobi and niki on dance performance. I just wish all 23 boys debuts. Niki voted for everyone on the first episode just like Jake. He is pure and innocent.
