Well, my opinion is, it’s positive and finally makes the area much saver, when its covered by lava.

Lava will definitely take care of any leftover UXBs (unexploded bombs) or other ordinance in the area. No worries. In any case it will be covered up.

Cool way to get rid of any residual devices. I hope there will be a camera set up to record the excitement.

Oh my gosh! So it is true! Well, at least if the lava finds anything from 70 years ago, it should be taken care of in terms of detination. Hopefully, the area will be safer in the future. Should also make for some interesting future geological anomalies!

It’s not like the lava can burrow underground, so it adds a level of protection correct?

@@JNosewicz7569 It has been attempted to be cleared before, most of what is left is likely inert training ordnance (sounds like mostly mortars, artillery rounds, aerial rockets and bombs, in this case). Even though most of what is left is likely inert, after the amount of time that has passed, it is nearly impossible to distinguish an inert round from the occasional dud (typically, inert rounds are painted blue, but after 70 years the paint is usually completely worn off). It should also be mentioned that there is also the possibility of training ordnance that had a live fuse but an inert payload. Dud fuses in this case are usually user-error in setting the fuse, but the fuse itself can still be explosive enough to cause severe injury to a nearby body part (like a hand or foot).
One major problem in cleaning these things up is that these types of inert rounds (and duds) all hit the ground hard enough to bury themselves. The freeze-thaw cycle will sometimes gradually lift them back to the surface, only to be found decades later.
