I got locs because I hated combing my hair... who knew it will be so much work... 11 years laters and hair galor, I wanted a simple updo to attend an awards ceremony. This was the dang thing. Easy to do and looked GREAT! Thanks!

Ok, so you have CLEARLY earned yourself a spot in my top 10 loc crushes. I wanted to bun and wrap so bad, and had no idea how to even try it myself. These are simple and seem easy to do, so I'm gonna try. I especially like the one where you use the scarf to make the bun. That is GORGE!! I'm gonna try the Jamaican Black Castor Oil as well. You're locs are so freaking gorgeous. I'm thinking of cutting mine (only 9 months old) and starting over after looking at yours. Mine are sooooo frizzy and not pleasing to the eye. Lol. Love your locs, love your tutorial, and makeup was gorgeous. That eyeshadow was very neutral and pretty.
Deidra Addison - Hi Diedra and thanks SO much for the compliment. PLEASE don't cut your locs. IF they're under a year old, they're in their 'teenage' stage where they get extra frizzy and unruly. It's just a phase of the process, my locs did it too. Just keep palm rolling when you retwist and it will train the loose hairs to lay right on down and you will get the manicured look. Trust me, starting over won't change getting the frizzies. Check out my 6yr lociversary timeline video if you want to see how my locs have looked throughout the process. And yes, the eyeshadow I used turned out being more neutral than I thought it would be, but it worked lol. Thanks for the makeup compliment, I'm so addicted to playing in makeup these days!!! I think that's why I decided to go with larger parts at the root and larger locs; I have 98 locs total! It's very manageable, but I do have loc-envy sometimes when I see how all the body that those with smaller locs have, but then I remember all the work they have to do and I go back to appreciating my 98 lol. Haitian_Hunny You're most welcome Nat...I actually chopped off my 15" long locs last February (6 years' growth) due to thinning edges. However, they haven't yet grown back so I had them re-attached a couple weeks ago (also using a new Dermatology formulated cream to regrow my thin patches). So as you can imagine, my locs are a little longer now (with the reattachment to about 6" new growth). I've always followed Chescalocs, but wanted a little more variety for long locs and I was blessed to find you. Wore your wrap bun style to work today and gots lots of compliments, so keep up the great work.
Ingrid Williams - Wow! I would suggest using some Jamaican Castor Oil or Pimento oil to help with the patches that aren't growing back. My boyfriend got mugged and unfortunately had a few locks ripped out and the Pimento oil did wonders to help his hair grow back quickly, as it has castor oil in it as well!!! I'm going to buy some pimento oil. Tried the JBCO last year but it didn't really help, and I'm still so self-conscious of my edges. Can you imagine it's difficult to find real black castor oil in Jamaica??? lolol...only the processed one is easy to find. Please keep those beautiful styles coming.

Yes!! Your Locs are extremely shiny and smooth! I wonder if hair texture makes a difference? The water is very hard here where I live also, that may make a difference in the frizziness? Do I have any recommendations for frizziness and shine ?? Coconut oil? I do use.

They have come down in price since I purchased mine and if it's easier, you could also consider purchasing it via either HSN or QVC because they offer monthly payments and a reversed layway type of deal where you receive the item with your first payment and make the subsequent monthly payments. You're locs are so freaking gorgeous. I'm thinking of cutting mine (only 9 months old) and starting over after looking at yours. Mine are sooooo frizzy and not pleasing to the eye. Lol. Love your locs, love your tutorial, and makeup was gorgeous. That eyeshadow was very neutral and pretty.
Deidra Addison - Hi Diedra and thanks SO much for the compliment. PLEASE don't cut your locs. IF they're under a year old, they're in their 'teenage' stage where they get extra frizzy and unruly. It's just a phase of the process, my locs did it too. Just keep palm rolling when you retwist and it will train the loose hairs to lay right on down and you will get the manicured look. Trust me, starting over won't change getting the frizzies. Check out my 6yr lociversary timeline video if you want to see how my locs have looked throughout the process.
And yes, the eyeshadow I used turned out being more neutral than I thought it would be, but it worked lol. Thanks for the makeup compliment, I'm so addicted to playing in makeup these days!!!

ThandiNC - Thanks so much for that compliment, I appreciate it! And yes, the smaller your parts and the more locs you have, the more work it is to maintain. I think that's why I decided to go with larger parts at the root and larger locs; I have 98 locs total! It's very manageable, but I do have loc-envy sometimes when I see how all the body that those with smaller locs have, but then I remember all the work they have to do and I go back to appreciating my 98 lol. Haitian_Hunny You're most welcome Nat...I actually chopped off my 15" long locs last February (6 years' growth) due to thinning edges. However, they haven't yet grown back so I had them re-attached a couple weeks ago (also using a new Dermatology formulated cream to regrow my thin patches). So as you can imagine, my locs are a little longer now (with the reattachment to about 6" new growth). I've always followed Chescalocs, but wanted a little more variety for long locs and I was blessed to find you.
Wore your wrap bun style to work today and gots lots of compliments, so keep up the great work.
Ingrid Williams - Wow! I would suggest using some Jamaican Castor Oil or Pimento oil to help with the patches that aren't growing back. My boyfriend got mugged and unfortunately had a few locks ripped out and the Pimento oil did wonders to help his hair grow back quickly, as it has castor oil in it as well!!!

Haitian_Hunny Wow! I'm so sorry to hear about your boyfriend getting mugged and his locs being ripped out. I pray God will have mercy on those muggers cuz they need Jesus. I'm going to buy some pimento oil. Tried the JBCO last year but it didn't really help, and I'm still so self-conscious of my edges. Can you imagine it's difficult to find real black castor oil in Jamaica??? lolol...only the processed one is easy to find.

Yes!! Your Locs are extremely shiny and smooth! I wonder if hair texture makes a difference? The water is very hard here where I live also, that may make a difference in the frizziness? Do I have any recommendations for frizziness and shine ?? Coconut oil? I do use.

I use a Canon Rebel T3i. I'm a photographer so I justified the cost as I use this camera for videos and as a back up to my main camera. They have come down in price since I purchased mine and if it's easier, you could also consider purchasing it via either HSN or QVC because they offer monthly payments and a reversed layway type of deal where you receive the item with your first payment and make the subsequent monthly payments. Just a thought...
