As wicked as Ursula was when changing into a beautiful girl using Ariel's own voice to woe the man of her dreams, as much of a prick scar was for outright killing Mufasa and breaking all our hearts, as Evil as all the Disney Villains have been over the years, None of them have put the time and effort into singing and recording a whole musical number to play on a record while their nemesis dies.
So, let me get this straight: the English version of this song is about Ratigan saying goodbye to his archenemy ; the Italian version straight up turns it into a love song like Basil and Ratigan were former lovers, and the French version is somewhere in-between the English and Italian one.
Writing and recording a song just to taunt your archnemesis as he anxiously awaits a (seemingly) inevitable gruesome death = how you become one hell of a magnificent bastard of a villain - kudos to you Rattigan!

Indeed. He was a great man. But in a way, he's immortal- between his performances and films, he's left a legacy to remember him by. I remember him mostly for his voice- he did a great job with creeps like Ratigan and Zig-Zag. If I get a chance, I want to check some of his horror films. :)
