I just saw a version of this on Facebook where the voiceover guy sounded almost exactly like the guy from the 90s Trendmasters commercials. This one sounds similar, but a bit more strained. Almost as if he were trying to get back into shape after not doing it for so long. Is it the same guy?

I swear the quality of the toys when i was a kid were much better. They look like they are made from very cheap plastic nowadays
To be fair, materials used to make figures have skyrocketed in price over the last few years… of course they’re not gonna be as highly detailed as they used to be in the past with companies trying to cut costs, especially if they’re catered to kids. and the plastic quality in this new line has actually improved over the GVK line… Kong for example, feels heavy and durable compared to the softer plastic they used in the GVK toyline. the paint job is a bit wonky around the face, but sculpt wise… it’s not too bad.

Pretty cool. Still waiting on that $450 Mezco Ultimate Godzilla review from you guys. Looks great from what ive seen of it so far, but gotta make sure before I drop that kind of cash.
The big Mezco figure turned out better than we expected, but we do have a few reservations, and he ain't cheap. We hope to review it. I think Figure Mania Show just reviewed it. I plan to watch his review.
Hey Ronnie, I have that figure. Pre-ordered it two years ago at BBTS. I really do like it a lot. It's a lot of cash I agree, especially for a US toy of Godzilla, but it is priced around what I paid (used) for a giant 1962 Godzilla figure from Japan that is actually slightly smaller. Both figures have fairly limited articulation because they are designed to stand in a particular pose. That is probably the main downside (for some people) to the Mezco figure. It is really more of a statue than a poseable action figure. But the detail and paint are very good, and the light up fins are the best design I have ever seen. The Mezco fins light up very similarly to this effect in the 1962 KKVG film. The roar also sounds quite clear and is very loud. The eyes are realistic, I do not think they are painted eyes, it is some other process that makes them look alive. The figure itself appears to me to be based on the 1989 G design (Biollante). It has a really big presence to it and looks very much like it stepped out of the movie. It looks "right" when viewed from any angle. And it seems heavily made and durable. I think it is worth what I paid but not any more, hope that helps! It scales really well with the Mondo Mothra statue (with hatching egg) that was out a couple years ago - both figures being based on the 1990s films. - Rick

My only problem is with this line of toys is that playmates seems to be making more Godzilla toys when the movie is about Godzilla and Kong when the last movie came out they both had the same amount of figures that is how it should be.🦍🦖🦧
