That was the absolute BEST closing to ANY song I've ever heard, live or in studio. I love how the whole song goes from a such a dark and intense piece to a nice, calming and good feeling ending. Great transition. People who bash on this band have no clue...
thats because you probably listen to top list or something. I personally never get tired of the music I listen to. Ive been listening to tom petty, pink Floyd, muse for almost 10 years now and I haven't stopped since.
Damn I miss this Dave Matthews Band. I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have gone to shows in the early 90’s through the mid 2000’s. I still go to shows as much as possible but those days were special
This whole performance is perfect. I have not found a better iteration recorded anywhere. Everyone is so into it. Dave seems truly spiritually transformed by it. I really love this performance and watch it as a daily affirmation that even my dumb ret$rd self can be okay in life. Thank you to the ONES they celebrate in this song, and thanks to them for doing it.
@@shanebrant1763i watch Dave Matthew’s live videos as a Pick me up too. Trying to be nice to myself and find things that bring me joy. I wish the same for you. Don’t talk down on yourself. U only have yourself and God and each day is NEW!!!!!!!!!
The one from Wrigley Field is pretty close up there :) I like the climax of that one a little bit better, but Roi's melodies during the verses / choruses of this one are better
I just said wow five times out loud listening to this, 20 years later. This song, that night is one of the most iconic examples of the brilliance of the original band. I love them all forever.
This song will always give me goosebumps. I've been to 24 shows in the last decade and have never seen it live. I've resigned myself that I probably never will. :(
6:45.... the release.... awesome....best Dave performance....thanks for posting. I've listened to this song hundreds of times, didn't realize someone had the video to this performance. Dave in Chicago.
I've seen this band on video so many times and thought I already see Dave put all effort in a song but this song seems so raw and passionate I just get more excited the more I see of the best live band ever👍😺
Absolutely amazing. It's safe to say, and I am pretty bias, that live Dave Matthews is unlike anything. The sound is so full and powerful. Musicians playing in tune like they've played in a past life.
@@williampietsch2034 he certainly was. Grateful Jeff came on board very quickly but Leroi just had this gentle soul about him and you felt it in the music
Newcomer to the d Matthews band. Hearing this song off a friends recommendation due to middle eastern vibe, liking what I hear. Will keep you guys updated
What a great show. Went with 3 girls from college and ran into some hs friends and smoked some great grass with them during the show. Such an easier time back then, hell I had a buddy sneak in soldier field with a backpack full of beer. 9/11 fucked it all up, and technology.
i was at that show in dallas.. my wife had been a fan for years & i'd never been to a dmb show.. i knew from hearing this song at the opening that i was in for something that i would never forget.. words just don't do a live dmb show justice..
6:45 easily the best part of the song...and from 6:58 on how did they not put the camera on tim, he was laying down some insanely fast picking with just the sweetest melody to it, and they didn't pan the camera on him once, i wanted to see him playing those notes sooo badly
thank you...it might not be a fan's favorite album, but musically its the most genius album, incredible the melodies lyrics and musical variety in this album alone
Totally underrated song IMO, 5 minute mark on is some of their best work. Great job boys. Boyds part is my favorite in the entire catalog... and Leroi was something special. Miss those guys.
im still looking for the studio version of this...i like the song & i esp. love the way Dave does his vocals that nobody can understand but i can sing harmony with him...doggonit. it sounds so doggone good i guess im good at something....stay safe in 2020. aug 24, 2020. never get tired of DMB i love these guys
Mrs. Crenshaw!!!! Lol def my fave DMB song and one of their hardest.... just a musical masterpiece with Carter and Boyd crushing the polyrhythms into the outro, and god damn that outro
I had a burned copy of this cd in my old portable player, and would listen to it during my art class in high school. My classmate, who was mostly into Rap/Hip Hop gave it a try. He was appalled, but mostly confused. "How do you listen to this??" LOL that memory still gives me a chuckle.
Amazing! I've been watching all these DMB vids in anticipation of the new album :) Just bought the preorder deluxe version of Away From The World on itunes. can't wait for it to be released on 9/11!!

Not bashing. This is an elite version of The Last Stop. But check out the version from Live Trax Volume 1 in Worcester.
Genius
Masterful
@@jonathant.sutton9478 Oh yes - Worcester version tops them all. Thanks for the lead.
I always love that, remind me of seek up in that way
Most music, you listen to, and get tired of. I'll never get tired of Dave Matthews Band.
Never....ever
Amen
Miss the 90s!!! Brings me back to my childhood!!! And i miss the vhs live recordings!!! Cant beat the video quality!!!!!!!
thats because you probably listen to top list or something. I personally never get tired of the music I listen to. Ive been listening to tom petty, pink Floyd, muse for almost 10 years now and I haven't stopped since.
Jovi Hilario never....... ever
For me, this version is the most complete song I’ve ever heard
This is DMB's greatest album. Before these crowded Streets that is. Also, Carter's drumming is essentially a Master class on this live album. Amazing.
One of the few albums of any artist where you don’t skip single song.
My favorite Last Stop and 41 of all time.
if I only had 10 minutes left to live...
Damn I miss this Dave Matthews Band. I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have gone to shows in the early 90’s through the mid 2000’s.
I still go to shows as much as possible but those days were special
RIP Leroy......miss you brother!
LeRoi not Leroy. Roi himself did not like that. And thats well known
For me, that is the best ever song they have. The lyrics, the melody, the references, everything is perfect and atemporal.
After all these years, still one of the single greatest things I’ve ever heard. The man is an angel.
This whole performance is perfect. I have not found a better iteration recorded anywhere. Everyone is so into it. Dave seems truly spiritually transformed by it. At 7:56 dave is enjoying so much this beautiful sound all around him. We're lucky to have this band. I truly love them.
Its an artist meets God moment
Hes got this smirk that makes me happy
thank you for pointing that out. so cool seeing him bliss out like we do in awe of this amazing group of musicians.
When the edible kicks in... :)
They put out the absolute best loving and socially aware beats I’ve ever known❣️❣️
Best live version ever :)
The one from Wrigley Field is pretty close up there :) I like the climax of that one a little bit better, but Roi's melodies during the verses / choruses of this one are better
Greatest version ever. I hope they bring it back one day
Whenever I need a little pick-me-up, Dave delivers. 😊
At 6:44, how can you not smile when the song takes such a beautiful new breath of life? DMB. For. Life.
Elbert Adamos absolutely!

Best The Last Stop EVER!!! Great outro!!

I love dave, he gives every performance 110% and he is never afraid to go all out.
I wish I could watch that clip forever. At one point he looks so genuinely happy...
Stefan's bass is so smooth!
Man, I miss Roi. He was so wonderful. 💔
This, and Don't Drink the Water at Central Park are the two best live performances ever done by DMB, in my opinion.
I would put Bartender at Folsom Field in there
@Brewer 91 hello again yesssss
They both have amazing lyrical closings!

I have been trying to remember the name of this song! And find this video for ages!!! I'm so happy right now!
"War-The only way to Peace?I don't fall for that" So right!
8:00-8:13
The look on Dave's face is just sublime
This is my favorite song of all time, and for good reason. Dave Matthews is just so awesome in his delivery here.
Absolutely amazing. It's safe to say, and I am pretty bias, that live Dave Matthews is unlike anything. The sound is so full and powerful. Musicians playing in tune like they've played in a past life.
Arguably one of the greatest performances ever. Just wow.
We ascended into the universe !! what a ride!!!!!!!!!
I was 2 years old when this was filmed. I grew up listening to it in my father's car. I'd love to meet the band today.
This is such a great version. I especially like Stefan's bass line from about 9:15 - 9:30. Amazing music.
absolutely love that bass line and how it cuts through
Chicago... definitely a top 5 live performance for me. God, I miss LeRoi.
100% he was the “soul” of that band, brought something special to the others.
If anyone knows where his saxes are I’d like to purchase one.
