    The charger in Kristiansand has uncooled Phoenix contact plugs which are limited to 200A. These Delta chargers there were built back then when there were no better plugs.

    • @KrisRifa

    Interesting that you managed to get the P2 twice to 0%SOC. I think it was Tom Moloughney on his 70 mph range test, that he had to stop the test at 10 or 5%, can’t remember exactly, because at that SoC the car was not able to maintain Highway speed.
    But that was prior Software 1.7, so maybe during the year they have also made some changes to the turtle mode.

    5:40 Germany voted to abandon "winter savings time" and not make it darker! 😅

    • @e-redj
      @e-redj 3 года назад +2

      The point is: it is no winter saving time. In winter Europe goes to its normal time, it is in the summer when we move the time to have one more hour of light in the evening as almost nobody is using that light hour in the very early morning.
      The other thing is that western Europe worked on two different time zones, the more western part had London time and Central Europe had Berlin time, but a rather small Austrian guy decided in the late 30s early 40s of last century that it would be better if central and Western Europe were on the same time zone.
      (Nerd fact)

Please consider. :D Love the way you take them down to Zero SOC, someone has to do this for the industry, and you are the only one out there doing this Bro.. Awesome.. Grats on the 30k subs..

  • @e-redj
    @e-redj 3 года назад

    At around 10:00 you can see that the current is capped at 200A. This fits with the indications at the Mer site that those are 90kW chargers. The Polestar has a very low battery voltage at low SoC, and that’s why it only charges at around 68kW.
    So, due to the low voltage the Polestar needs 500A chargers to charge at max speed.
    BTW, as of today (I think many days after you taking that road trip, the chargers are marked out of order by Mer).

  • @SliceUK

      @@KrisRifa Takk for sist. Sorry if I’m asking the obvious but does that mean that the ranges between the models are somewhat equal? I mean - does the SR SM with smaller battery and better consumption roughly equal the range of the LR DM with bigger battery but worse consumption?

    It’s a good result. 👍 I suspect the result would have been even better with soft, studless winter tires, which most people in Norway would be running in these temperatures. 🙂 Too bad Google, and none of the car manufacturers for that matter, are able to provide updated chargers maps. ABRP does a pretty good job at that, with live status, how hard can it be for some of the biggest companies in the world? Makes you wonder how serious they are about EVs.. There’s even a public database for this in Norway (which also includes Sweden), called NOBIL. With free API’s and everything. Even _with_ correct charger information, would the Polestar preheat though? Under a certain SOC.. 😬

  • @benjaminsmith2287

    I don't think they can change the overall shape of he vehicle that much. They can only squeeze out as much as they can and tweak some things for slightly better aerodynamics.
    I think Volvo/Polestar will have to catch up but I fear Hyundai/Kia are going to be way ahead by 2024 when Polestar gets out the P4, their more P2 priced ground-up EV crossover. Hyundai/Kia are working at so many EVs which all come out next year.

      The I4 is a great car, I like it a lot. Base-models pricing seems to be ok, but to have some good spec in it you must spend 65-70k euro (or more for i4 M50). Top spec Polestar 2 costs a 55-60k euro and I think this is the upper limit worth paying in the D segment.
