I have a drosera shizandra proliferator plant that does well in either low light or pretty bright light. It’s more of a pinkish red color. I have seen them before that are much larger than mine I should’ve bought them the moment I saw them. Mine is not very big and it grows very slowly it’s much more difficult to grow than any other drosera That I have seen. I’m so glad to have them crossover with proliferator because that way I could enjoy them as part of my collection and they’re not hidden away somewhere in the dark where I can’t see them.
My schizandras getting a lil bit of sun behind a greenhouse foil as long as they are used to it and its not too hot they kinda like it and get a lil bit red wich looks good ;)
Wow! That is an interesting form! Looking forward to seeing it offered next year. Do Drosera like these, with the large flat leaves, roll or move their leaves when a insect is trapped?
Some species like regia will wrap around prey (regia actually will do the most vigorous movement and wrap several times around!) but not all of them will do this trick
I am so curious about the relationships and evolutionary stories in the Drosera. Do you have any recommendations for learning more about the relationships? A recommended current cladogram for the group?
I would LOVE to buy one! I grow andromeda which as you know is half schizandra! VERY easy to start from leaf cuttings but takes a long time, 3-4 months I find.
How beautiful! I've never seen these before- they DO look just like lettuce!!
That is a great size plant very nice.

They’re definitely a little tricky but so so fun to grow!
Very unique- love it!

You may want to check out the International Carnivorous Plant Society’s website. They have some of the best banked information!
That would be different, trying to find a bad spot for light for a plant. Interesting. Kind of like the little lettuce guy.
Heard these guys like it a little bit cool. Is it true?
They do not love anything over 90F but mainly, they really need low light!
Love it but I do have to point out the spider cause I don’t really like how it be looking.
Well, you know what they say about Drosera... Sundew and Sundon't.
