Great Video Joe .... That album 101 strings tribute to John Lennon is amusing .. half of the tunes on it are Paul McCartney related.. (i.e. Hey Jude , Yesterday , Eleanor Rigby . Michelle , Penny Lane) ...
Great video Joe. I'm kicking myself for not taking you up on the offer to have them break out those Elvis records. I would have been in the dog house had you did, but with the weather the past 2 days that is an acceptable punishment !
I loved seeing Joe see that record - as you and I know that is probably the biggest reaction you'd get - but so funny he remembered the guy he sold it to! You know, when I fold a piece of pizza down here, they look at me like I have two heads - they've never seen that here.
Hey Joe, "The Pie Man was Paul!" Unbelievable that other Joe knew to who and when he sold that album. I can't remember Thursday! You did,'t grab the sealed TOW? Hey, I heard six feet by Wednesday. Take care Joe...
I finally started using the Discogs app on my phone. That way when I'm in the record store and I'm wondering which albums I have I can just pull out the phone and check quick. Granted I only have less than 400 records but it still comes in handy.
Jerry Lee live in Japan is..or as I have read is sought after, because of great sound..And his song “How’s my ex treating you” is tough to find. If you see something I might like pick it up buddy.

Great video Joe. I loved seeing that Clifford Brown-LP round five minutes in. I have that one on CD and i never thought i would see it on vinyl! :) Great album with a lot of swedish musicians on it! Take care! :)
Look like that Beatles' Second Album went through 4 or 5 generations of kids and the last one was a D.J. doing some hard core scratching during a mix show.
Finally got an up close look at that Lennon tribute album, *half the songs are written by Macca!* (LOL!). Somewhere McCartney would be having himself a good belly-laugh over that one. Anyhow, you are correct in that you really need to start cultivating a database of your albums as it will save you purchasing albums you already have. By using a spreadsheet program you can even create separate columns designating sealed, shrink, hype stickers or whatever you want. I don't know how I know this but the name of the pizza that Cory was munching on is called a "Grandma Slice" or a "Grandma Pie". Don is a national treasure period!
jldraw - For what it's worth, turns out I DIDN'T already have a sealed copy of "Tug of War", so that worked out good. Yeah, that "Lennon Tribute" album with nearly all Paul songs is a real laugh! John himself always got a kick out of that. Happened on the Mike Douglas Show in 1972, too. His bass player from Elephant's Memory Band related a story when John and the band were waiting backstage just before Lennon was to be introduced, and Mike Douglas sang "Michelle" before introducing John! So Lennon turned to his band and said "bloody hell!!" (or an exclamation to that effect). But when John went out with Mike, he politely explained that at least he wrote the middle eight to "Michelle", so it was okay.
Yep, some kind of inventory list is a necessity. When I first started collecting the Canadian Beatles album variations I built an Android app for my phone so I could have my collection with me while I was out shopping. Sure helps cut down on the duplicates.
I started with a spreadsheet, but it was too hard to read on the phone. I teach computer programming so I built my own phone app instead. Used it again today, in fact.
Mayo, do you have Lennon's "Roots" LP? Sort of a semi-legit album released by the notorious music exec/gangster Morris Levy, comprised of tracks from the "Rock & Roll" sessions. It was initially sold thru a TV promotion.
Funny he showed that Larry Gatlin album. Not a fan but I met him a few years ago. He sang at a dinner I attended. Nice guy. Is your health doing better ? Hope so.
He did seem to be amused to see the business card as I thought. Maybe not jumping out of his seat but you could see it in his face he loved to go back to that time of his old store. Great video once again. Never seen pizza like that before like cory had. The topping just being plopped on in a blob. But I guess you New York guys do stuff differently.
Jimmy M ..There are all different kinds of pizza here, this is only one unusual kind. I prefer the traditional type... and they say NY pizza is the best!
MeanMr Mayo I have heard that. Not gonna lie I much prefer NY style pizza to Chicago style. So you New Yorkers do that quite well. As far as CT version of NY style pizza pies they taste real good!
"What!" I Came So close to having My Name mentioned in a MeanMr Mayo Viedo, and with Jerry Lee Lewis! So Close But…………Just Kidding Joe! Thanks Joe There were a few shown I Don't Have. I need A better Copy of The First One "Southern Roots" Back To Memphis and , also Boogie Woogie Country Man Touching Home I'd Love to Have another copy of The Greatest Live Show On Earth! IMO I'd scoop that one up Joe Early Live Jerry Lee! I still Suggest you get the All Killer No Filler! Plus Reader Digest Put a Rock n Roll Series "Golden Great Of The 50's and 60"s" out With Jerry Lee And Connie Francis On the Same Disc Part 11 Jerry Lee And Side 2 Part 12 Connie! "What" Love The Don "what"
Thomasgene - Sorry I couldn't recall the name when I mentioned the Jerry Lee albums (too many commenters to recall who said what!). Yeah, Don's "WHAT!!??" is now a hit around here, and everyone's doing it.
Anthony Edwards - He does have his moods, and he's got a dry sense of humor. Once you know him you realize he's a good person, but I can see how people get the other impression. I tell him not to appear so humorless when the camera's rolling, but there it is.
I love all of these videos but am surprised by the way you guys put your fingertips all over the edge of the records (no offense!)...I've been taught never to do that as a child, and I never do !
dummytree - The edges of the records are dead space, they have no music. But I'm curious how you manage to remove certain albums from out of their jackets, especially if they're kind of snugly in there? Magic? Levitation?
I know that. It's just that sometimes you guys seem to put your fingers above the silent, dead space but maybe it's just what it appears to be on video. I noticed it when your friend was checking out records in a garage. Hey, to each their own. When I don't use magic or levitation, I usually and carefully make the records slide out of the inner sleeve and have my palm and fingers on the side of the records, not grabbing the record with two fingers. If they're kind of snuggly, well, it depends.A thumb on the side, and fingers on the label if I can. Grabbing with two fingers would be the last option if they're really stuck. But that's just me. I said, I love your videos, watch them all, and you shouldn't take this harshly, it was just a comment.
I hope to have a chill life like this when im older. Driving with a fellow record shop customer to another store!
*'W H A T!'*
- Don is a laugh riot!
He's interesting to watch. Too bad lots of record stores no longer exists in NY. I went to a few. Prices have gone up especially the oldies items.

Awesome records, love it 👍🏼👍🏼
I'm very impressed how sharp Joe's mind is working. Love that guy.

Funny video Joe! I loved...."WHAT!" Matty
I loved seeing Joe see that record - as you and I know that is probably the biggest reaction you'd get - but so funny he remembered the guy he sold it to! You know, when I fold a piece of pizza down here, they look at me like I have two heads - they've never seen that here.

A tribute to John Lennon. the first like five songs are Beatles solo Paul songs
I finally started using the Discogs app on my phone. That way when I'm in the record store and I'm wondering which albums I have I can just pull out the phone and check quick. Granted I only have less than 400 records but it still comes in handy.
Mark Pankratz - That will take some work at this point for me. Though with me it's also a matter of what condition a record is in too.

GL - Doing better, which is the reason I'm finally out and about. It took too long.
Don is awesome!
Best thing to do with that album.

That store owner comes off as kind of a jerk, maybe it's an East Coast thing.

Did you know? Jerry Lee Lewis is a first cousin to the televangelist Jimmy Swaggart.
