Stitching At The Cabin is a channel about cross stitch. We are a mother daughter flosstube that “specializes” in large projects including HAED, Chatelaine, Gecko Rouge, and Mirabilia. You will also catch us rotating through smaller projects like Mill Hill and Just Nan. We do full coverage, we do partial coverage, we do no coverage! Oh... well maybe thats just called buying excess stash. You may even see an occasional bird. Live ones. Like the ones that talk. Unless you have a fear of birds. In that case, they are puppets. We like to think we are funny, but more likely we are just easily amused. You decide.
Hi Julie. I think it's great you gave the garden gate finish to your mum. It's beautiful. Thank you for the way you broke the news about Taco. I hope you're starting to recover by now. 😭🤍⚘️
Alyssa, you did a wonderful job on the ending. Sensitive and beautiful. ❤
I still miss him so much. Every. Single. Day. ~J
@stitchingatthecabin It may sound odd, but I do too. It's been a full immersion month or so, watching all the videos, and Taco's been very present the whole time. I love chihuahuas. They have attitude! I love the story of how you 'stole' him. My brother's dog had the same tongue thing and my sister's was nearly blind, so Taco fitted right in. It was a privilege to meet him and he was lucky to have you. (And now I'm crying again. Sorry.) ❤️
Sending lots of love to you all as you go through this period of grief. Loved catching up with you both, thanks for sharing, and Happy Stitching!
Thank you. It gets a little easier each day. ~J
❤❤❤
I'm so sorry to hear of Taco's passing. You were a good doggie mom throughout your time with him. And I completely understand you wanting to be there until the bitter end and not wanting him to die alone. Once again, you're a good doddie mom. He will be missed. My condolences. 😢
Thank you. I don't think anyone wants to die alone and I would never have forgiven myself if I had not held him at the end. ~J
Hi Julie and Alyssa! I am so impressed by both of the full coverage pieces progress. Glad you are feeling able to stitch again Alyssa and make some progress on Universe in a Jar. Keto is absolutely amazing. Congrats to your mom on finishing her chemo and congrats on finishing Garden Gate, so pretty. I love your birdhouse SAL by Jardin Prive and, no, I'm not going to try to type the name in French. I am so sorry that Taco crossed the Rainbow Bridge and I know what a huge hole he has left in your heart, arms, and family. I hope it helps to know that he is now running free from pain, able to see and hear, and enjoy all the things that life took from him when he was so young of a dog. Prayers for your grieving process and healing for you, Julie, as well as the rest of the family. Dawn in Texas
Thank you! He has definitely left a huge hole. You clearly understand. I hope he's off enjoying all the things he couldn't at the end. ~J
So sorry for your loss Julie. It’s tough losing our fur babies because of our love for them & the unconditional love that they gave to us. Dogs leave paw prints on our hearts forever. Take Care ❤️
That is 100% true. His little paw prints will be there forever. That unconditional love is such a special thing. I miss him so much. ~J
Sweet, sweet Julie, I’m so so sorry for your loss! I seriously feel your pain, it’s the hardest part of having pets. But you gave Taco so much, he had a great life with lots of love, thanks to you!!😢❤
It's worth every moment, but it's really hard being a pet parent. I know it was the right decision, but I miss him so much and the selfish part of me wanted to change my mind and just keep on holding him for as many days as he could muster. I didn't want him to suffer though. ~J
@@stitchingatthecabin well done mama❤️
I have adopted old problem dogs from the pound and humane societies many times. One even was blind in one eye, deaf and had a pituitary tumor. He had been in a cage for 6 months without anyone wanting him. We gave him the best five months of his life until his seizures from the tumor made him unresponsive and we had to put him down. I know it’s so hard and you wonder why you keep doing it to yourself. But those 5 months were the world to that little guy and to me that’s all that mattered. You never fully heal, but know you did the best thing in the world following Gods command to care for his animals. ❤
I tried my absolute best to give him the best life possible. I love what you did/do for the dogs that don't have a good life. I wish there were more people like you. ~J
I'm so sorry you lost Taco. The hardest part of loving is when you loose them but it is always worth the joy they bring. Best wishes to all of you.
You are absolutely right. The joy was worth every bit of grief. ~J
I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my fur baby last year in April. She was 15, a few weeks from her 16th birthday. I still miss my furry stitching buddy. Sending you virtual hugs. ❤
Oh no. I'm so so sorry for your loss. Not having that furry stitching buddy has been the hardest for me. I imagine it's the same for you. It's when I'm working on a project and he's supposed to be warm on my lap that I feel that loss so intensely. There are a thousand other times too, but I think that one is the worst. ~J
Sending love to you all xx
Thank you! ~J
I an so sorry for your loss. You gave him some wonderful years. Remember all the loving times you had. Virtual hug to you Julie (())
Thank you! I think it's also fair to say he gave me some wonderful years too. I didn't realize quite how much I needed him. I'm very lucky he came into my life way back then. ~J
So sorry for your loss of Taco, I feel your pain, I lost my cat Timmy at new years, he was around the same age. I cried with you and I am sending virtual hugs and love. I still find white fur on my quilting and I tear up still, probably always will. 💙😢
I feel that pain so intensely right along with you. I'm so sorry for your loss. Timmy will always be in your heart just like Taco will always be in mine. I am so thankful I left his little white fur fibers in the stitching. I will think of him whenever I see them. ~J
I'm so sorry for your loss. Lots of love and hugs for you...
Thank you! I think my poor family is sick of my teary hugs. ~J
I am so sorry for your loss, sending lots of love ❤️
Thank you! It's getting a little easier each day. ~J
I am so sorry about Taco, he was a fortunate pup to be adopted by you
😢
No, I'm not adopting you too. It was a couple bags of cookies. But thank you. It's really hard and I miss him so much. ~J
I’m so sorry about Taco but I’m glad for your mom and continue to keep her in my thoughts.
Thanks for keeping my mom in your thoughts. The last year has been pretty miserable. ~J
Oh, you started Garden Prelude for your Birthday? If I would have known, I would have stitched on mine on the same days. I started Garden Prelude with Sarah Stitchin Mommy for one of our Birthday starts and hardly ever get her out to stitch on. 🙃
I am really sorry to hear about Taco❤He had a good life and knows you loved him.
I hope you are stitching, maybe a special piece to remember him by? Take care, both of you. 🪡🧵🥰
I didn't realize you had Garden Prelude started or I would've said something. I hope you show it on an episode. I'd love to see your progress. ~J
My Garden Prelude is not very far. I started with Sarah for our birthdays and then took it out one more time, that was it. I really should work on it a bit more, as Sarah did too and also did not tell me.... 🙃
I’m so sorry. Take care of you. We will be here when you are ready to come back. Much love and prayers
Thank you. I'm healing a bit more each day, but I'm not sure when I will be okay enough to not burst into tears every few minutes. That would be a terrible floss tube episode. ~J
So sorry to hear your sad news on losing Taco, I know how hard it is to lose a family pet, so know I'm thinking of you at this sad time x
Thank you. I'm sorry you have also experienced loss, but it is so helpful to know I'm not alone. I've never understood people that are like meh, it's an animal. No, not at all. ~J
@@stitchingatthecabin you're certainly not alone and yes there are many who just class them as just another animal, but they become a part of us, our family, which means we mourn and grieve for them just as much. Sending hugs x
Oh Julie ... I'm so sorry. {{Hugs}}
Thank you. A walk with you would really help right now. ~J
@@stitchingatthecabin walks with friends are the best. I wish I was there so we could do that!
Hugs 🤗luvs ❤im so sorry!!!
Thank you. ~J
Im so sorry 😢
Thank you. ~J

I know you are and I love you for it. I also know this is a really hard time of year for you too. ~J
