1800 HA is a great foil for me at 100kg. Very easy to pump on foil and it’s just more fun to go fast with less effort. It’s also easier on your arms, shoulders, and elbows than the low aspect surf range. There is less drag and you don’t have to be as powered up to keep pace and glide.
Hi, amazing review Reuben, extra clear!… i’m trying to find the supboarderpro video to see the diferent configuration between front wings and stabilizars, and i do not seem to succeed, 😢can you help me out?
You should be able to see the extended video when logged in to your PRO account here: supboardermag.com/2022/04/08/2022-naish-foil-range-overview-supboarder-video/ Scroll down on the post and you should see the video player. Glad you liked the review. Thanks, Beau
Is the gloss finish an advantage? We used to sand our high aspect windsurfing fins with 600 grit wet sandpaper to achieve a smooth matte finish to try to keep the fin from cavitating at high speed and pressure. In other words, we thought it kept the water flow “attached” to the fin. Has anyone experimented with this?
Hi Randal, I too have played around in the past with windsurfboards and still I'm very undecided whether super shiny or super matt is the fastest option. I definitely feel with foils unless you're into racing it's less of a problem having that super top speed but more of a problem at showing up any scratches from the beach or rocks. Good question Thanks Reuben
Nice video, thanks. I agree naish foils are fantastic. I have a 1240ha and would like to buy a MA for waveriding in 20knots. Should i consider the 1240ma or the 1000ma ?
Hi mate. I have a 2022 1650 jet and it’s really great but I wish it was faster and glided more. I was riding waves the other day with the wing flagged and it stalls pretty fast. With all that in mind what would be my natural progression, I’m thinking the MA 1240 is it? Have you tried the new Mach 1? Cheers Andy.
Hey Andy, got yah, good question. No we haven't used the new Mach 1 yet but I know Naish want us too asap. New shape looks good , but Im just wondering if its too fast for some of the slower waves! The Jet HA could be a good option, more speed but not overly challenging to ride. The MA is a great foil and so much fun in the surf but it's not that quick ether. It's the sort of foil that likes to keep power to keep its speed. ie needs to be ridden in the steeper part of the wave or gain power from the wing to keep it flight. It just haven't got the glide of the HA, but saying that it will have more than your 1650 Jet!?! Its all about what swell size and speed you are riding in and if you are riding the right part of the wave for the foil. Sorry probably not the clearest answer. Does it help at all? Thanks Reuben
@@SUPboardermag hi Reuben, yes that makes sense. I guess I’m looking for one foil that does all but that’s impossible. I’ll look at the HA. Would love to see a review on a mAch 1 as I’ve heard great things about it. Thanks 🙏
@@SUPboardermag Ok, keep us updated, be great to see a review. I bought a 1600MA in the end, waiting for some wind and it not being - 5 degrees! Best regards
Yes I believe it is the same system to connect the front wing. You should be able to double check with a few of the close-up shots on this video. I know they have had this front connection system for a while now. Your Naish dealer will easily be able to tell you and make sure. I hope that helps. Thanks Reuben
We are lucky to have so many reviews because it’s constantly educating us. Supports the culture and innovation.
Thanks for the kind words!
Another really informative, and well balanced review, Thanks for the info.
Thanks for the comment John. Glad you found this review useful. Cheers, Beau

Awesome to hear the 1800 is working well for you. Keep the stoke alive! Beau
nice job!
How does MA wings work to luff? I know HAs are good for drifting. Or in both it is more a matter of pilot techniques. very complete review.
Hey thanks for the question, but im not sure exactly what you mean. Are you talking about parking your wing and riding a bump? Thanks Ruben

Depending on your overall weight. I would go for the 1240 yes. I think you need a little bit more lift than the HA foils
Very Very Interesting, Thank you for the video.
Great, I really hope that was helpful, thanks Reuben
Very good review
Thank you!

I have spoken to Naish to try and get a M1 foil. But apparently they are all sold out. So they do sound good. We will keep trying , thanks Reuben

The guys at the foil shop told me Naish is trash.
They work for some and not for others. Lots of good foil brands out there now
