I like how you still articulate with the puppet when you are not using him for an actual role. You got the puppeteer in your blood!
I can vouch that if you have the puppet just stare at people all the time, it DOES creep them out.

You usually want to use the "arm pump" when the puppet is showing very particular forms of expression, like when its being sarcastic, for example.

I apologize for not getting back sooner, but my internet has been down. :(
I will try to post a video on making voices, and give my best input for an old man, :), but till then I would just recommend looking up some other old man puppet voices on RUclips, and another option is that some old men actually have high pitched voices, which can make it that much more funny! :)
