Very nice. The carpentry fitting is called a "dove tail".
a high profile angled case would be incredible!
What 3D printer do yall use?
Could you explain how did you make these switch notches?
Nice! Thanks for including some information about measurements, especially as relates to going from the 1.5mm to 4mm with notches... that’s useful to think about.
How does it sound when you actually type with it? Not as good as steel plate right?
Those are for cherry, what would be the size in case of using Alps switches? Would work too?
alps switch hole would be 15.5×12.8 I might add that too in the future
Is this compatible with gk61?
can i use alps switches for this?
no, the switch hole is different, but would be easy to fix
@@MatteoSpinelli thanks for your answer, man! What about the stabilizers? Can i use the normal cherry ones or do i need special alps stabilizer?
@@juno_99 depends on the keycaps you use! if you get them from an old alps keyboard you need special stabs
hi how long is the space beetween the switches ?
Wow great timing, just got a 3D printer last week, so will definitely try this soon.
Could you give me the dimensions of those threaded inserts? M2.5 with a M3.5 OD? What depth? I just want to make sure I buy the right ones!
Thanks!
They are 4.2mm external diameter and 4.8mm deep! Anything around that size should work, it doesn't need to be exactly like that.
Great thanks for the info, will order those now. Thanks for all your hard work!
Thank you very much Matt3o!
Broooo Ant Colony music nice.
Completely new to 3d printing, but would you advise to print the case parts using the top of the case as the first layer?
absolutely! that's how you do it
Perfect, I will give it a shot and report back. Thank you so much for putting this together, looks amazing!
Hi!
I´m looking forward to 3D print an ISO version of the Whitefox as my first DIY keyboard.
I´ve been looking your OnShape file and I can see that everything is based around Sketch1 which has The True Fox Layout.
Please, could you tell me how can I achieve an ISO layout sketch including the stabilizer holes?
Thank you!
I know it was years ago, but did you managed to find/ make an ISO version?
I've wanted to try my hand at handwiring and also really like the 65 percent layout, I might have to take this and give it a shot. If only I had my own 3d printer
there might be a makerspace near you
Get an Ender 3 - it's cheap and good
@@SuryanIsaac same person different account, I have since gotten an ender, but it got all kinds of messed up when I tried to replace the main board with a quieter one, I don't know what happened but there was a short and the magic smoke. Killed all the electronics except the motors. I've since gotten a prusa mk3s, I should get back to this, I've got a proton c laying around.
@@toyvo Nice! I also had magic smoke once when I dual powered the board from both the PSU and my computer.
I still have a heavily upgraded Ender, though I plan to build a hypercube soon.
cool
What kind of material did you use to print it? PLA?
Can you please tell me where I can find a pcb that I will be able to use with your case?
can you use a pcb with this design or is manually wiring the only option?
hi, where did you get the gold screw socket you used for the 3d print?
they are pretty common, "threaded inserts" I believe they can be found even on amazon
This is awesome, may ask, why did you make the case in two parts with the interlocking system?
the overall width exceeds the average print bed size, but I'll also post a version in one block!
@@matt3o Oh I see, that's good to know, I will be waiting, thanks for these videos man they are very encouraging.
Awesome! ;) What a great job. Ben fatto Matteo!! What can u say after one year using this kb? Is the case still holding?
