I have loved this song from the first time I heard it, one early autumn afternoon.. Was in an Indian summer kind of mood, and Morrison's voice backed by the gentle music- just reached out and grabbed me.. learned right then that the Doors were more than just a "Light My Fire" band..
This is my favorite Doors song of all time. Those little, delicate riffs that Robbie does after each line, following Jim's vocals, is musical perfection. So beautiful it makes me weep. This feeling of momentary bliss is exactly what music is about.

To be like The Doors you need an authentic mind and an original soul which is not seen as "cool" nowadays. If you are like Jim or Janis youll be ignored
To produce anything new or creative is very difficult today when it is so much easier to put your time and talents elsewhere. And furthermore, what is new or what is creative today still needs to rise to the standard of quality that was set 45-55 years ago. Never forget, that this is a standard that Jim Morrison himself could no longer live up to during his last days in Paris in 1971. That said, I do not believe we are yet at the point (late 2019) where this is no longer possible. It takes a truly insane amount of effort to go over all the material that one must and still be able to imagine what it might be in a given song that is lacking and then do it differently. In regards to all new stuff (new melody and new lyrics) you do not get there without having first done tons and tons of cover stuff. Difficult but not impossible.
actually, this was the first song the Doors ever recorded for an early promo reel. Before he met Pam Courson. I believe it is for his first love, Mary Werbelow. YOu can search here on RUclips for the early promo version which is much less polished than this but great to hear.
@@shannon6708 I think that is likely. Blue Sunday definitely written during the Pamela days. Here's the earliest version of Indian Summer. The first song they ever recorded!! ruclips.net/video/H69o9m3Mu6I/видео.html

I get a nice warm, fuzzy feeling from this song. The combination of Jim’s warm vocal overtones with Ray’s smooth bass lines on his Vox create a pleasant atmosphere… or maybe it’s the years of drug use that has softened my brain. Either way, this is great 😂
I'm jealous of the moon, because you look at it. I'm jealous of the sun, because it warms you. I feel you, even when I'm not feeling you. I talk to you when I'm not talking to you. I love you, even when I'm not loving you."... you know I love you ...

Sublimely astonishing song! Too bad is so damn short, yet so memorable. Indian Summer rules! Love The Doors since I saw the Oliver Stone picture! The Romanian young women in Sibiu were really crazy about seeing the film (Val Kilmer, Meg Ryan) and The Doors. Jim Morrison is my fav. American poet ever, but only after Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. Can you picture what shall be? So transcendentaly free?
Yes...probably the most heart felt and sensitive song by The Doors. I tend to think if Jim got past his demons he would have continued on making more songs in this vein. He was a soft and sensitive soul underneath.
I just feel love hearing this... Doors bring me so much love... I'm grateful for living in this world showed for this band, just sorry for be in wrong time, I'd rather be in that time to feel it strongly...

in retrospect, all the drugs made him a musical genius..but you must remember; if you live by the sword, you may die by it..
Drugs don't create genius. It just simplify the expression of the talent already in the person

sometimes they help the artist to break on to the other side :D

In regards to all new stuff (new melody and new lyrics) you do not get there without having first done tons and tons of cover stuff. Difficult but not impossible.
what a great name for a baby, Indian summer ~"I love you best. Better than all the rest !!!" "That I meet in the summer. Indian summer."
The most beautiful song of 1960s.....retired US Army....i survived....the madness....
Welcome home.
This song is about Jim Morrison's love for Pamela Courson. One of the most romantic songs ever.
actually, this was the first song the Doors ever recorded for an early promo reel. Before he met Pam Courson. I believe it is for his first love, Mary Werbelow. YOu can search here on RUclips for the early promo version which is much less polished than this but great to hear.
@@ACraig-og8tn I think I heard Ray Manzarek say that once but maybe he was talking about "Blue Sunday"!
@@shannon6708 I think that is likely. Blue Sunday definitely written during the Pamela days. Here's the earliest version of Indian Summer. The first song they ever recorded!! ruclips.net/video/H69o9m3Mu6I/видео.html
@@ACraig-og8tn Thanks. I am a huge doors fan and I appreciate it. that's interesting. I think he really loved Pam. "If they say I never loved you, you know they are a liar" L.A. woman.
@@ACraig-og8tn that is really beautiful. Thank you.
I get a nice warm, fuzzy feeling from this song. The combination of Jim’s warm vocal overtones with Ray’s smooth bass lines on his Vox create a pleasant atmosphere… or maybe it’s the years of drug use that has softened my brain. Either way, this is great 😂
This song is absolutely breath taking!
I'm jealous of the moon, because you look at it. I'm jealous of the sun, because it warms you. I feel you, even when I'm not feeling you. I talk to you when I'm not talking to you. I love you, even when I'm not loving you."... you know I love you ...
I like that..
This is beautiful
This yours? It's wonderful
Une autre dimension ! Ensorcellant...

JIM MORRISON IS AMERICA's TRUE POET, GENIUS and GORGEOUS ANGEL..... Kim
Jim Morrison A true legend
Grew up with the doors and first time. I hear this song. AMAZING!!
Jim Morrison is great! I'm a big fan of his writings. I love his music. I remember watching the movie The Doors. With Val Kilmer. And though I was 14 at the time when I saw the movie, something about Jim just wanted me to listen to his music! The Doors are a great band. But Jim Morrison is my idol! I write poetry here and their. And he's the main inspiration in my writings. A great writer.
this is The Doors' best song in my honest, pure, heartfelt opinion
cystal ship is pretty good too, and has a similar ethereal spacy feel to it.
I agree. I loved them since their come back in the 90's when I was 13. I became transfixed. I also started writing poetry. I still do. It takes me to my essence, so does this song 😀 It is MAGIK
Got the last three years I go to the sea coast and stay in the motel got two tree nights. Like Indian summer cuz the season is over here. Next week.
Our last Indian summer trip
🙏🏼😎🏖😎🌞🌞🌞❤️😎
Sublimely astonishing song! Too bad is so damn short, yet so memorable. Indian Summer rules! Love The Doors since I saw the Oliver Stone picture! The Romanian young women in Sibiu were really crazy about seeing the film (Val Kilmer, Meg Ryan) and The Doors. Jim Morrison is my fav. American poet ever, but only after Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. Can you picture what shall be? So transcendentaly free?
Thanks thats a great song from one of the greatest band ever
A truly beautiful song - I cannot wait to have this played at my wedding in a couple of months.
... the comment is now 4 months old, and you may be married by now :-) Congratulations !
Pure magic.

Madalajn N. hello happy holidays
Yes...probably the most heart felt and sensitive song by The Doors. I tend to think if Jim got past his demons he would have continued on making more songs in this vein. He was a soft and sensitive soul underneath.
Wonder
One of my favorite songs of all times.
I just feel love hearing this...
Doors bring me so much love...
I'm grateful for living in this world showed for this band, just sorry for be in wrong time, I'd rather be in that time to feel it strongly...
I ❤️❤️❤️❤️YOU,THE DOORS

Μaybe the best song of the band, simply and unique , like warm sun !
Give me just one band to listen to forever you know its the Doors.
such a beautiful song that goes against the grain for the doors. and for a beautiful song, it starts with a haunting dark note.
Hi I'm 21, and this is my favorite band, sometimes I think I was born too late.
You are not the only one bro 👊
