This really made me cry watching this. I am a grown ass man 24 years old, 6'6 250 pounds and against me has been one of the bands that has had the biggest impact on my life as a band ever could. I am drinking Irish tonight Andrew was an amazing human I will miss him and I hope Laura and James can figure something out cause I know the real fans are hurting right now. Whatever happens from tonight to tomorrow I will always have a place in my heart for this band and my kids will grow up on AM!
Wow, just fucking awesome. This is one of the best performances I have ever seen. The whole thing is so fucking punk, the energy of the band/crowd. the fact they are on the floor surrounded by fans, the total unison of everything. Just amazing.
Grainy low-quality video, can't see the band for shit, vocals are completely drowned out for the entire song and somehow this is easily my favorite video of live music of all time... Fuck this is good.
I keep coming back to this, even though I've seen higher quality, better produced videos and live feeds. Because this is the crowd all around, passionate playing, zero fucks given kind of punk rock! EVERYONE is singing along. Who cares about the quality? That's punk fuckin rock right there!
Man. I got such crazy goosebumps watching this. I had the good fortune to see against me end on this once, and it was hands down the greatest ending to a show, ever.
I saw them in 2004 at a show like this on ground level, and I've seen them play large clubs. I have to say, there's a realness and intensity to these ground level shows. Sadly, if you didn't see them before 2004, you'll probably never get to see them like this again. Heartbreaking.
man, this video gives me chills. its awesome to see a band play music right in the middle of their fans without a stage. i still havnt gotten to see them and they dont do this anymore since they put out New Wave so i guess ill never get to go to a show like this...
I've seen them play before and after. They still play amazing, some better then others. They still play their old songs even on the new wave tour. They are still drunk when they play, at the buffalo ny show tom dove into the crowd at the end. they still know how to rock, nothing has changed about them on a personal level
I just wonder if anyone has video from the concert Against Me! did at the Freebird Live in Jax, FL. That was the first and only concert my boyfriend and I went to before he had to go to New York. I love these guys! YAY FOR AGAINST ME!!! ~Kitty
I will always hate that I was not at this show. But I will always love that people who appreciate it as much as I would have were there and got to be part of that.
I was debating going to see them in two days and this video literally almost brought a tear to my eye because I know I'll never see this AM! again....I don't even want to go to the show now. I want my memory of them to be times like these.
This is totally how an against me show should be, gnarly and raw- everyone screaming till they cough up blood. I love how everyone is involved. Then again in my eyes there is not much space in this world for such hypocrites, still, this band changed my life.
thank god. I've been freaking out. I was expecting to see them at warped tour and see new wave played in a different order. If they play one song off Reinventing Axl Rose the day will be worth it.
alrite i must say ppl who are saying they changed to a larger label to secure their future for their families and all thts shit i mean they started playing because music was their passion and u can hear the emotion in their earlier songs now it seems kind of lifeless and i dont even care that theyre on a major label its just the fact that they deliberately let tht label change their sound so more people would like it instead of playing the music they love for the people who love it awesome vid
Nietzsche talks about the nature of greek bachaean rituals and the catharsis they provided for the inert will of creation inside of us - he then talks how we only have rare interspersed examples of this in our lives today in modernity - here is a great example .... This is the potwntial of what life can be
i agree with keeger75 watch their documentary they said numerous times theyd never sell out. they were dissing bands who rode up in semi trucks and who were signed to big label records.
cooljayhu.. i feel them chills to man, i keep replaying this and its how shows should be dude!!! this is the best in the fucking world! i love it when i see shows like this... fuck! i need another show in my basement
yeah, i know the only time I have seen them live is when they were opening for the foo fighters but it was a big arena show and most of the people (to be honest at the time including myself) had almost no idea who AM! was so it wasn't quite this crazy. They still rocked though and honestly were better than the foos
Good to know. That makes me want to go to the Ventura date (Against Me! is literally the only band worth going to see) and the LA date (Against Me! Bouncing Souls and Rise Against...) hmm...decisions.
I also love how personal this gig is, its how punk should be, no divides or social barriers. Obviously they had a right to sign to sire, its their choice. I just hate seeing a band play to a massive mainstream audience, no real interaction, just sterile, mediocre shit. Wheres the passion gone, thats what matters most? without that its basically fucked.
can somebody who has seen Against Me! BEFORE and AFTER new wave tell me if they are worth seeing anymore? i heard they used to play shows like every show was their last but now they dont play like that anymore. i was a fan of them a year before new wave and ive been waiting for a chance to see them. they wouldnt fucking come to VA for some reason and now everyone says theyve changed. can someone who knows what theyre talking about(meaning no New Wave fans) tell me if i should see them?
The music they made when they just didn't give a fuck is the music that I'll always think of. A lot of fans were disappointed when they put out the new album...I wasn't a fan of the new album either, but I won't complain. I just won't listen to it. Their old songs, however, just mean too much to me. Pints Of Guinness, We Laugh At Danger, and Baby I'm an Anarchist are songs that I'll always shout along with. Those songs are still a huge inspiration to me, whether I like their new sound or not.
I've never been in the pit, but the barricade for AM is significantly better than sex. I'd go to this show rather than getting laid any day of the week. Just, y'know... Context.
I wish I was there. This is so epic, man. This is how a rock concert suppose to be. AM! come to Brazil.!!!But I'm going to the USA in july. I'll try my best to go to an AM! show.
The New Wave album shouldnt have been that big of a suprise they have reinvented themselves since the beginning of their careers the fact that this album sounds different shouldnt gage on whether or not they sold out and also to the "fans" who disagree with them signing to a major label Sire carries alot of good bands they didnt sell out they grew up but as the way the world works there will always be haters Jimmy Beers
What happened to these days and these shows? What happened to ethics, morals, and a backbone??? Man, talk about selling out! And I'm not some dumb kid using that phrase lightly. I'm 40 years old and I've been going to shows for over 26 years. THIS is the definition of "selling out"!!!
by the way, im thinking about seeing Against Me! at warp tour, but im not sure if its worth it. I see videos like this all the time on youtube and it looks like the best day of my life, but i looked up videos at warp tour and it looks like everyones just standin around. Are they worth seeing at warp tour?
Yeah but they're finally going to be playing with their brothers again at Warped Tour...still, don;t go see them, just hope the two bands finally make that Split CD. Last time I asked, both bands were willing to do it.
anyone who says against me are sellouts deserves to die. Their music thorughout their history has remained consistently good, and the message has been the same, they are no more mainstreem now than ever, theyve only matured.
@vadermask they "sold out" by evolving into a different music form that they enjoy writing/performing and also happen to get paid well to do it? Now if they suddenly became bubble gum pop, and started singing about bitches and money, then yes, you could call them sell outs. For a 40 year old, you sure need to grow up.
Or the guys who wanted a band that plays loud and hard every night. And doesn't care how many people are counted at the door. That would travel one million miles and ask for nothin but a plate of food and place to rest.
Times change. Would you rather stay poor for the rest of your life to make 500 people happy, or be able to make money doing things you love and bring in 100,000 new fans even if it's at the cost of the original 500, who "don't like" your new direction? They became successful. If you don't like that, you can go ahead and live off extra buns at fast food places and squat in abandoned apartment buildings.
I will answer that. First of all they are on UNIVERSAL RECORDS! Secondly, they play huge arena shows with mainstream bands. Third they said in many interviews that they would never go with a major label. Fourth they play shitty fucking mainstream music now. Fifth i dont know where youre from but im from buttfuck canada and they are on the radio alot. Finally i see oh SO MANY PEOPLE who like them who of no interest in punk rock. "If she wants to dance and drink all night." Fucking joke
Oh, sorry. I just thought you were one of 'them' fans which looks down on every other fan who doesn't know everything about everyone to do with Against Me!. I was obviously wrong.
This really made me cry watching this. I am a grown ass man 24 years old, 6'6 250 pounds and against me has been one of the bands that has had the biggest impact on my life as a band ever could. Best moment in human history

Chris Bastedo This is my favorite live music video of all time.

Best live song ever. Period.

That's A Real Show.
This was always one of my favorite videos
I will always hate that I was not at this show. But I will always love that people who appreciate it as much as I would have were there and got to be part of that.

am! looks so awesome in this vid rocking right in the middle of their fans. must had been an awesome intimate exp
i wish i liked them back then... even though im still too young to go to a crazy show like that
i saw them last night and they played this song last and everyone rushed the stage. it was amazing.
This gives me the chills! soooooo frigging good! Wish I was there man!
last time I saw them It was like 4 years ago. oh man where did the time go??
Fucking amazing still until this day. I can't wait til they come back to Michigan, whenever that will be.
against me! is amazing this song is amazing
I need a time machine.
This is totally how an against me show should be, gnarly and raw- everyone screaming till they cough up blood. I love how everyone is involved. Then again in my eyes there is not much space in this world for such hypocrites, still, this band changed my life.

seeing this gives me some serious chills I wish I was there
This gave me chills.
i agree with keeger75 watch their documentary they said numerous times theyd never sell out. they were dissing bands who rode up in semi trucks and who were signed to big label records.

@rainbowchakra90 words cannot describe the feeling you get in the pit of an AM! concert ...
Live is love? Something kitschy and ironic. Fuckin awesome
I swear by the alter of everything that means anything I will never stop laughing at danger!
No one's spoke truer words.
Just….holy crap…there are some moments in our lives …
@LeeCanterProductions That is fucking epic. I couldn't even hear Tom!
Would give anything to have been there.
maybe the best punk concert ever
Wow, what a great video.
THIS SHIT MEANS SOMETHING TO ME!!!!! 😭 😭 😭
Good to know. That makes me want to go to the Ventura date (Against Me! is literally the only band worth going to see) and the LA date (Against Me! Bouncing Souls and Rise Against...)

good fucking christ i wish i were there for this
Wish I was there

Yes, I do.

Things I have to do before I die:
1.See Against Me! live.
lol me too.
lalallalala
Sire is a Division of Warner Brothers who most certainly ARE a major label. do your research next time.
clarity isnt as bad as all u guys r makin it, although its their worst by far. hopefully the new one in july takes a turn in a better direction
Yeah but they're finally going to be playing with their brothers again at Warped Tour...still, don;t go see them, just hope the two bands finally make that Split CD. Last time I asked, both bands were willing to do it.
I was a denier, I defended them but I've given up now. I just want them to go away and come back when they've got some decent music again.
this is at SUNY Purchase right? or something like that? In 2001/2002?
"the new album shoud be named Reinventing Tom Gable not NEW FUCKING SHITTY WAVE"
rofl nice
anyone who says against me are sellouts deserves to die. Their music thorughout their history has remained consistently good, and the message has been the same, they are no more mainstreem now than ever, theyve only matured.
If you could bottle awesome, itd pretty much look like this.
about 200
Ok no one cares what you think. DOnt listen to them if you dont want to! I still like against me

where does this video take place?
Where is this?
Story of your life?
Sea of limbs
@mjd341 k
hehe, quag7, if they are so boring why are there so many people watching it? maybe we don't find it so effing tedious after all...
Times change. Who gives a fuck? THIS SHIT RULES!
Oh, sorry. I just thought you were one of 'them' fans which looks down on every other fan who doesn't know everything about everyone to do with Against Me!. I was obviously wrong.
They shouldn't go because the Warped Tour is an over-hyped shopping mall with mostly generic bands.
