How To Make Pong In Scratch | Scratch Tutorial

- In this video you learn how to make pong in scratch 3.0. This video teaches you the basics but you can improve it and make it more "playable" on your own.

Here's how to fix some bugs in this game:
1. On the Ball 2 script add a "when green flag clicked, hide."
2. On the Pad Left and Pad Right scripts under every "change y by -10/10" block add a "if touching edge move (the opposite of the move y block above, for example: if the block above says to change y by 10 make it change y by -10 on the if touching edge block and vice versa)"
3. Remove the set left and right score to 0 blocks on the Ball 2 script.
It was so helpful and it still works even though it’s 3 years old.
This is the BEST tutorial i have found in a while!

Picking a random bounce off of the paddle just doesn't seem right. It should bounce off at an angle opposite from what is was before it hit.

how would I make the ball speed up if I hit 10 points or any other amount?
Make a new variable and make it so that when Ball 2 Start is broadcasted set the new variable to 1. Under the when W key pressed make it so that if Ball 2 Start is equal to 0 then move 10 steps otherwise the amount of steps you want after 10 points. Also make it so that the new variable changes to 0 every time you click the green flag.

Hi, I made a countdown in the pong game, but the problem is that the ball moves around + the left and right pads.
How do I make it start after the countdown and not make it move when it is countdowning?

I know da solution even tho its prob too late but just put "wait (how ever long your cowntdown is) seconds" before your movement script for your ball and paddles and it works
Example: If my countdown is 5 seconds I would put "wait 5 seconds" before my ball movement script and my paddle movement script

@@dejddeefff651 So that way you don't lose your score once the second ball comes it. At that point any score earned from before the second ball comes out is lost.
