You know, for a satire, this felt surprisingly endearing to the original show.
Dude the show kind of makes fun of itself, though. It's so endearing because you can tell that Butch really loved the story and all the characters, and even though it took itself seriously it pokes fun at it's stupidity.

@@nouration9685 Kinda feel like it was a Hermione thing. Danny and Tucker were friends since,...ever, and then Sam shows up and starts hanging with them. They merely tolerate her at first, mostly cause she never gives them a reason to dislike her, nor does she give them a reason to like her either (voice of reason characters are almost always written this way). However she does eventually grow on them and they become friends.

It sucks how even though there were 2 different episodes where the world learned Danny's secret identity, we don't get to see Valerie's reaction in either of those. It'd be interesting to see which would take priority for her, her feelings for Danny or her hatred for ghosts, and he might've been able to help her realize that not all ghosts are bad. But noo, instead we just get more Danny/Sam shoved in our faces
There's way too much Danny Phantom popping up in 2017 for the show to not be making some sort of comeback outside of the Nicktoons movie being made.

I guess it's the combination of a pretty dark and ridiculously cool concept still full of untapped potential and the unsatisfying conclusion the fans were given. I still consider myself a fan of the series long after it's end and cling to it simply because of how much more could have been done with it. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

At the very least, it shows that he's aware of the still very dedicated fanbase to the show. He's not an idiot, I think he knows that he could get the support from fans to get more seasons going. Uma Nair Valerie and Danny have better chemistry, better build up, better development, their relationship is heaps healthier, they actually respect each other, and they’re two of the most interesting characters in the series.
Sam is only liked for being goth and rebellious but she’s basically the obnoxious personification of tumblr before tumblr was a thing. Pushy, ‘progressive’, shallow, etc etc. round the last two seasons at least.

I always assumed the reason ghosts aged in that one episode was because they were under a lot of stress with Dark Danny around. Like, anxiety ages them, but being proper evil ghosties keeps them the age they were when they died.

It sounds more like that person wanted to BE Ember rather than be with her.
Also the article showed that the shooter was more strongly influenced by the other mass murders in recent history. The Ember obsession seemed to be more motivation for the suicide rather than the killing.

Mandi Powell It's partially true, Season 3 is inferior than Season 1 and (specially) Season 2, but is not completely bad, it had very clever ideas like the Cryokinesis powers, the trips to another places in the Ghost Zone and more allies instead of Clockwork. Buuuuut... The season looked like a non-linear show (Like The Fairly Odd Parents), the new ghost presented, even it was good showing "Deity type" ghost, they didn't have an interest personality instead of the previous ghost.
And the Danny/Sam subplot, even I shipped them since Season 1, was SO annoying. And Sam was more and more annoying.
Season 3 had only a few great episodes. D-stabilized and Boxed Up Fury are legitinately some of my favorites in the whole show. But other than those it was pretty lackluster. Season 2 was far better in terms of overall quality. And wouldn't you know? Both of those episodes could have fit into Season 2's continuity practically without issue.

Can't stress enough how awesome Valerie's character was right off the bat. She was funny, badass, a great contrast to Danny and his parents due to being more compitent despite her lack of experience with anti-ghost gear and more. Vlad was still pretty funny tho. Hard to get tired of him if i'm honest.
Although I didn't like Valerie at first because of how shallow and mean she was, I grew to love her after her character development.

To be fair, even though it's super common amongst cartoons nowadays, this was actually kind of a more rare thing back when the show first aired.
C4DNerd Yess...And I watched the show as it premiered back then and I actually didnt know how much of what happened was just the first season O.o
Well back in the day before recording shows was even a thing, it was so easy to miss an episode and be completely lost on what's happening. In fact, I would say that's the main reason why shows (especially cartoons) typically didn't make stories that progressed much further and instead always opted for each episode staying within their own little self-contained story.
uh what cartoons are you watching, all the ones ive seen with plot progression have a season 1 of one offs and a finale that sets up the real story. only one i can think of is Gravity Falls, and thats not even fair since it only had two seasons.
I think the joke was that it ISN'T super common amongst cartoons nowadays.
Pretty sure the point was that it's super common today and probably those cartoons get a lot of praise for it even though Danny Phantom was doing it back in 2004 when it really was unheard of.

Even as a kid I liked Valerie a hell of a lot more than Sam. Back then I couldn't tell you why, but now I could very easily explain it. 1. Valerie is not a selfish bitch like Sam is. 2. Danny and Valerie actually take time to talk to each other about their problems, albeit in vague terms since both of their problems relate to a secret identity, but that just makes the dialogue more interesting in my opinion. 3. Valerie has a really fascinating dynamic with Danny since she is his romantic interest and enemy at the aame time, but nothing about it feels corny. Valerie has very understandable motivations for why she hunts him down, and Danny obviously knows who she is and doesn't want to hurt her.
Ah yes. Butch Hartman, truely the greatest villain in animation.
