Last week I was chatting about cars to one of our customers, and in the past few years they’ve owned a BMW i3, Abarth 695, Audi Q7, Porsche Carrera 4S, Mini Clubman Hybrid, Audi RS6, a 3-wheeled Morgan and a Ferrari 458, and I got onto saying I was looking at getting a Tesla and she literally scrunched her face and said “err no I’d never get another electric car”, I was quite shocked! Even those who are extremely well-off are shunning EV’s!
@JacksonFairweather Simple, make a point of asking before you sign. Then, if they've lied then they've already broken the deal and you see them in court.
Deffo true, friends of our bought a new car back in October, with a delivery for December. They were told in November the delivery date has been pushed back to mid January. They've been back to the show room and they've been told it's because of these EVs. They were told if they changed it to an EV they could have it straight away. They've now cancelled it and bought an almost new secondhand one!
To be honest manufacturing deserves a bollocking. New cars are literally built with an expiry date built in…ice or ev. I noticed a huge downturn in quality in 2015 ish. Owned new VW’s (Passat and golf) since 2002 but B6 and MK5 were the last decent, it’s been downhill since then. B8 wagon was the killer for me and the facelift went back from there so I’m out. Main wagon now is the 2004 outback that’s been the farm wagon is now the main car…has never asked for more than maintenance. Will keep the 2020 V8 tdi Touareg purely because it’s a monster they won’t do again. Haven’t brought a new car in 5 years and won’t again I’m afraid…I’m off the disposable band wagon and the money I’ve saved 😳. They no longer get my money…and until they grow a back bone I’m afraid they deserve to go tits up
When are the Government going to realise a fact that I was taught at engineering college back in the 1970's. The fact was that electric vehicles simply shift pollution from the high street to the power station.
While that's partly true, it's in no way a 1:1 transfer. Even a highly filtered coal power station yields better fuel efficiency than burning petrol locally and the emissions are less. That's the worry case scenario. Now move up to nuclear, solar and wind...
@@djtaylorutube Solar and wind destroy the environment, kill the wildlife and the plant life and leave the land radioactive at the end of life, so no food can be grown in that land for a very long time.
Saw a post on Facebook today (obviously evangelist page) that EV sales are skyrocketing 😆 in November and December as 1 in 4 cars sold are electric. Nothing to with fiddling with statistics I guess 🤔🤥
My daughter purchased a new car from KIA in May, she picked it up 6 months later in November as they were all on pre order and they did try very hard to sell her an EV but I told her not to fall for the EV scam.
"Then they came for the car manufacturers, and I did not speak up because I was not a car manufacturer... " the real question is why didn't the car manufacturers speak up about this before they were going broke?
They're idiots, they're big enough to band together and actually lobby the government to get shit done. Nissan, Toyota, JLR, Vauxhall and some others could have all threatened to pull manufacturing out of the UK and take it to some lower tax country in Europe. Government would have folded straight away.
If it’s bad now imagine the car-nage when we get to next December! I see almost 50% discounts on EV vans now trying to pump up registrations in 2024 period. If you want a bargain buy your new EV before the 31st! Who in their right mind would be swayed into buying an EV instead of an ICE as a last decision hurdle. The VERY FIRST decision would be “petrol or leccy?”
I bet there are millions of drivers who wish they kept their pre 2010 vehicles, I kept mine and won't give it up,not even for 60k as not one of the new high end cars is as reliable or even capable of quality and power!
The figures to look at are January and February. If EV sales are still rising then we will know that the EV revolution has finally arrived. Of course if the sales/registrations of petrol and diesel cars suddenly shoots up then we will know that the manufacturers were holding back registrations to avoid the fines. Somehow I don't think I would place any money of EV sales being up...
I feel sorry for the people who ordered a new petrol or diesel car as a Christmas present for a loved one. The EV mandate nonsense has ruined the present. That is unforgivable.
We was taught photo symphasis all the time at school about how plants take co2 out of the air and produce oxygen, I think I got that right been a long time since I went school
Just keep buying the old cars and leave those with more money than sense to buy the milk floats until they can't, because the car manufacturers went bancrupt and died.
There will not be anywhere to plant trees when Rayner gets the millions of homes built for all the doctors, dentists, engineers, professors arriving by ferry into the UK... 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
And yet, if you look at the delivery mileage cars currently for sale ie pre registered cars that have failed to sell e.g. via Auto Trader or other platforms, then the number of petrol cars outstrips the number of EVs and hybrids combined. Diesel cars on the other hand…
The average net absorption per tree is about 30 kg of CO2 per year, so it will take 22 trees to compensate for the emissions of one year's commute of 20 km per day. That means that if you planted 22 trees, the CO2 absorption every year would offset your 5000 km of commuting every year. .......theres that '66' again! Damn! lets round it off to 100 saplings! They will ha e to eventually sell all.stock due to vastly reduced profit margins, due to the crazy discounts on EVs. That or maybe EV are only worth the discount price and they been exploiting the market.
All current combustion engines have an efficiency value of between 25 - 40%. It's the pattern we've seen since the pandemic and it's the pattern that we shall continue to see.

Not only that, but dealers are pre-registering EVs en-masse to make it look like it's booming. But it's enough to look at the used market to understand where the demand is. Even diesels hold their value better than the most desirable EVs
I’d just walk out of the showroom after telling them to shove the EV where the sun doesn’t shine, simples. In the US the Donald will repeal the electric car mandate and stop subsidies. The US car buying public don’t want EVs, GM & Ford will breathe a sigh of relief and return to making vehicles that they can sell. Ram,Dodge,Jeep, all Stellantis products are looking sick.
If they penalise the manufacturers enough then they will push ev's to avoid the fines or try to. It's the same as gas boilers being put up by £150 each which in turn turns in to millions in fines for the manufacturers which are posed over to the customer to show the company to survive. The government want 4% of heat pumps to be rolled out which isn't happening not to mention these heat pumps seem to be not lasting that long or setting on fire, seems they have something in common with ev cars. 2030 isn't far away, you think it's bad now. Exactly this mate, I love it, you've hit the nail on the on the head (as we in the UK say 👏
They aren't coming for the manufacturers (for now), they're coming for the dealers. Dealers worry their doors could be forcefully closed if the sale targets aren't met. Absolute disgrace...
It's more than so many EVs are coming to the end of their 3 year leases and are then being dumped onto the market cheap.
How cheap is cheap?
Cheap enough to buy as a runaround for going to the shops?
You wouldn’t have to plant many Oak trees when you consider they’d live for a couple of centuries.
Give it a couple of years road tax on all new ICE will be £5k for first year. Taxed out of buying ICE
That will only increase the price of second hand ICE cars. Many people can't charge at home, so will not buy EV.
You could not give me an EV for free, I would destroy it if I was given one rather than pass it on to some unfortunate other person.
All these manufacturers need to get together and tell the governments to p1ss off!
The Western manufacturers will all end up going bust, and we'll be left with nothing but Chinese EVs, who will the inevitably put the prices up.
китайские авто потом тоже пропадут,в дивном мире автомобиль для простых граждан будет запрещён! это нам показали в фильме Дающий 2014 года,там всё про новый мир,если внимательно смотреть то всё станет ясным!!!
The west manufacturers are going bust because half their profits came from China and now that the Chinese market is going to EV their sales and profits in China are disappearing. They should be able to continue selling cars in Europe of any type they want but they will still end up going bust if they dont figure out how to compete with Chinese EV cars which are eating their lunch
Any dealer that wanted to sell me a new car but make me wait till January would lose the sale.
they don’t tell you until after they get your money
@JacksonFairweather Simple, make a point of asking before you sign. Then, if they've lied then they've already broken the deal and you see them in court.
Sorry lads. You want an ICE car. You wait. In 2025 you won't take delivery till 2026 if you buy in October. Even longer wait the following year.
There is no way I'd spend my money on an ev
The government wants to concrete over the countryside.
Where are the trees going to be planted?
Fuck your trees plenty of them were not going to drop dead
On farm land
@@BobCarolgees-p8f Is that before or after they've built the free houses on it?

Quentin Weasel’s ZEV mandate…?
Deffo true, friends of our bought a new car back in October, with a delivery for December. They were told in November the delivery date has been pushed back to mid January. They've been back to the show room and they've been told it's because of these EVs. They were told if they changed it to an EV they could have it straight away. They've now cancelled it and bought an almost new secondhand one!
Have no intention of ever buying a new car. Simples.
The fact was that electric vehicles simply shift pollution from the high street to the power station.
а когда вы поймёте что они враги всего человечества???
While that's partly true, it's in no way a 1:1 transfer. Even a highly filtered coal power station yields better fuel efficiency than burning petrol locally and the emissions are less. That's the worry case scenario. Now move up to nuclear, solar and wind...
@@djtaylorutube Solar and wind destroy the environment, kill the wildlife and the plant life and leave the land radioactive at the end of life, so no food can be grown in that land for a very long time.
And you haven’t even factored in the original manufacturing process, including mining the minerals and rare metals for batteries…..
EV sales: Small...far away.
Awesome 👍
When they tell you ICE sales quota are Filled ,tell them to phone you when they're available again , Meanwhile you'll try other Dealers.
I don't want a milk float
Even if they stop the manufacturing and sale of ICE vehicles and I needed one, it still wouldn't make me buy an EV. I rather walk at this point.
Blackmail, ICE held hostage, gov propaganda, gov subsidies aka the real story behind eV sales.
So what will happen next year when it's 28%? If you want to buy a petrol/diesel you'll have to get it before July???
Oi! Mini Geoff!
In a traffic jam last night, quite funny seeing the EV's turning EVERYTHING OFF!is that not illegal when blue lights are around and it's dark!!ffs
I bet there are millions of drivers who wish they kept their pre 2010 vehicles, I kept mine and won't give it up,not even for 60k as not one of the new high end cars is as reliable or even capable of quality and power!
It’s all down to stakeholder capitalism
The figures to look at are January and February. If EV sales are still rising then we will know that the EV revolution has finally arrived. Of course if the sales/registrations of petrol and diesel cars suddenly shoots up then we will know that the manufacturers were holding back registrations to avoid the fines. Somehow I don't think I would place any money of EV sales being up...
I feel sorry for the people who ordered a new petrol or diesel car as a Christmas present for a loved one. The EV mandate nonsense has ruined the present. That is unforgivable.
But they are not all EV sales, a good % of them are just pre-registered and have not actually been sold
We was taught photo symphasis all the time at school about how plants take co2 out of the air and produce oxygen, I think I got that right been a long time since I went school
Was Victoria the Queen when you were there?
😂😂😂
We were taught that in Infant school - which says a lot about the intelligence and wisdom of the devil's cabal aka the world's Govts.
The UK market(RHD) is small compared to Europe(LHD).The manufacturers will just stop selling ICE cars in the Uk.Its not rocket science.
N52 engine here with 130,000 miles on it! 34mpg if i can be bothered to be a good boy with my foot, also Ulez compliant! Keep up the good work Geoff!
this is a real tragedy geoff. thanks for pointing it out. happy christmas to you.
small Geoff walks up and down them stairs like a elephant ! :)
Boards allowing destruction of these companies but none of them will become poor for doing this.
What! Central planning doesn't work! Who knew?!
This is like something out of Atlas Shrugged.
Trust THE SCIENCE.........and then you won't need a car or ANYTHING !!!
Geoff ..what happens to the £15000 fines per petrol or Diesel car ??
They will ha e to eventually sell all.stock due to vastly reduced profit margins, due to the crazy discounts on EVs. That or maybe EV are only worth the discount price and they been exploiting the market.
They will sell the excess vehicles to non white , non western countries yes
ice ice Baby God help the motor trade !!!!!!!!!!
All current combustion engines have an efficiency value of between 25 - 40%. Currently secret work in progress is being done which achieves over 85% efficiency, however they cannot be brought to market because whoever even tries will come by a nasty accident, just another little fact in our wonderful world.
It's not really very secret though is it?
🤔
Not if you know about it!
And if you know about it, who else knows about it?
😂😂😂😂

EV's would be viable for a lot people if the 10 thousand pound Chinese EVs weren't banned.
This was a tory idea!
Agree. Tories put the deadline back to 2035, in line with the rest of Europe. But Labour unilaterally decided to put it back to 2030. No thought, no impact study, no consultation. Just blindly carrying on, as it has done with all of their decision making.
No it's the brainwave of the WEF stuck farmer and rishy washy are just there puppet's
No all governments follow policy set by the tony Blair institute
I believe its agreed in the Brexit agreement
@@wynhughes9072It makes little difference 2030 or 2035, the ZEV mandate (Sunak's) kept the same volume: date targets.
His move back to 2035 was populism theatrics to fool people who shouldn't see past it.
How many years do you think it will be before little Jeff will be considered big Jeff! 😂😂😂
Anthony Howe Browne MP was who bought in the zero emissions mandate, claiming that transport is the biggest emitting sector, and within that petrol and diesel cars are the biggest source of CO2. Have a great Christmas Geoff and family
Western countries will follow the example of Cuba, which has old cars on their roads. So maintain and keep your ICE car.
when I wanted to buy my Ford Focus RS mk3 I was told they were only allowed to sell 150/year because of emission quotas and each retailer was only allowed 3 at max, my dealership already sold 3 so they had to arrange with a smaller dealership that hadn't to get them the car for me in exchange of taking another car, that was in 2018 6 years ago, now we are at the stage where I was refused by 3 dealerships the purchase of a car no rebates MSRP price, they didn't want to sell me even a HEV "too polluting"
I can see a lot of dealers leaving the industry as profits are going to plummet.
Companies perfer petrol and diesel cars because there is more servicing and parts to sell
Watch Richard Vobes video on Stakeholder Capitalism.Explains allot thats going on.
yes, Very good video that really explains a lot.
@@mon1aro But the guy on Vobes cannot see through some of the mist as he cannot see that Brand, Trump and Rogan are heavily controlled/owned opposition.
I wonder how this will pan out.
The way things are going, 2025 EV sales targets will not be met. No chance.
Have you watched richard vobes and guest re stakeholder capitalism ,explains a lot
Funny thing Geoff, I do actually have a Pitchfork lol.
You forgot about Barrie Crampton.
EV sales will go up again in Dec, then plummet in Jan and Feb, where the Anti-EV lot will once again convince themselves no one wants EVs, the niche is over, yada yada yada, but then they'll stabilize again in March and slowly go up for YOY sales each month. It's the pattern we've seen since the pandemic and it's the pattern that we shall continue to see.
Pitchfork at the ready.
They are just kicking it down the road
Next year they need to sell less ice car
My uber driver in London last night, told me that uber is prioritising green vehicles, giving way more jobs to ev drivers than non-ev drivers. And that uber have got manufacturers to offer special rates for new ev sales 😂
I don't want to ride in an EV and wouldn't get into one, they're not safe enough to pass my risk assessment.
@ he was in a diesel Mercedes, but they’re incentivising all the drivers so hard, and threatening to remove benefits, and they’re already suffering less work… so they’re all looking at buying evs
What happens next year. If the held back cars are being sold in the new year will go against the 28% figure of next years target
Wait till we start getting closer to 2030, the government's will really start to push for net zero, digital ID's, carbon credits, etc.
Trees don't pay tax or fines.most new EV,s are driven by people who didn't want them in the first place, they just got lumbered with them.
