As a Man City fan I've seen a takeover - and within 20 min we were linked with Berbabtov lol obviously we signed Robinho who didn't even know there was a bladdy blue side (obviously Newcastle cant do that now with FFP) and we tried to get Kaka LMAO imagine LOL aahh those were good times - i was in a pub when i heard the news and just didn't know what to expect really because if you look at what happened to Portsmouth etc. - City were a big club in the 60s , title wining sides , fa cup wining club who later went on to win the European Cup winners Cup (OG CL that we cant seem to sniff rn lol) back in the early 1970s - but then our ownership changed . At the start of the 1973-74 season Eric Alexander announced his intention to step down in October which was the start of our downward spiral and we ended up later having anti Swales campaign TO GET THE OUT after 20yrs of little success and things just got even worse after the Thai prime minister Thaksin was given the accounts who nearly got us liquated let alone all the relegations and promotions were going through at MAINE ROAD , but fortunately THE SHEIK , bless that man , came in and stabilized the clubs accounts , wrote off debts at the end of the season which is good business as some owners (eg Glazers) choose to take debt out of a club as big as united for their own gain , the sheik always reinvested the money , and at the beginning he had to spend more than we made in that time obviously but that was always on a FOOTBALLING level , we wanted to succeed on the pitch against your United's and Liverpool's - they improved the City of Manchester - anyone whos been in Manchester know what the sheik has done for the community , job creation ,especially in a city full of minimum to average wage workers , the facilities around the place , the Etihad Stadium and the football club we see today - that's my experience of a take over but its not always a fairly tale as i mentioned on a lower level teams lie Portsmouth or the Venky's ownership with Rovers . Only time will tell how Newcastle end up but all ill say is , it surely gets better from here . CTID
