    I believe very strongly in the saying “There’s no such thing as bad kids, only bad parents.” While I agree that now he’s legally an adult he isn’t a biological adult, because a man’s brain isn’t developed until about 25. The only guidance his “mother” gave him was how to ruin his life & the lives of other people.

    • @Kennymac8251
      @Kennymac8251 Год назад

      And yet they are allowed to drink, do drugs, vote, drive cars, purchase weapons etc all before their brains are developed. They can't have it both ways: do all those things and when it goes wrong and someone dies say it's not their fault because their brains aren't developed.

    • @mellvee
      @mellvee Год назад +7

      That's not true. It's a choice. My husband's childhood was as bad as a person's childhood can possibly be, in every way, but he grew up strong, honest, hardworking, and loyal. He made a choice at 17 to run as far and as fast as he could, and he did exactly that. He could have easily wound up like this kid, but he made the conscious decision not to. He's the best parent I've ever seen, and is so much more than the way he was raised. This young man had a chance, he simply chose not to take it.

    • @Dekks123
      @Dekks123 8 месяцев назад

      @@mellveeI see this sentiment a lot, but it's not a binary thing, not all criminals had messed up homes, and not everyone from a messed up home will be a criminal. But what you will find is the majority of people in prison had bad homes or mental health issues, it doesn't excuse their crime, no one is saying they shouldn't be punished, but we can acknowledge that having terrible parents and upbringing is more likely to put you on a bad path than having a happy childhood, I mean it's just common sense right?

It's really sad that the kid is so young. I don't exactly know why he killed a plumber. I can't imagine why somebody would shoot a plumber doing their job? Unfortunately as the victim's daughter shaded all of their lives will forever be changed by that one bad decision. 35 years is a long time and I believe he deserves every one of them. So many of us have had problems with drugs and alcohol, yet, we don't go on to kill people. My prayers are with them all. I do feel horrible for the kid that did it, because he did not have a wonderful mother or father. However in no way did I give him the right to take a life.

  • @JMarieCAlove

    She’s an awesome judge and isn’t afraid to speak up and be honest and say things a lot of people want to really say about a person. That mom needs a lot of help to get sober and not rely on a man but to be on her own. Some people will do anything so not to be alone even if the other person is a awful human being, people don’t like being alone or need a person to help them with money and raising their kids. A lot of people are jealous of their partners kids and will treat them horribly. This kid looked remorseful and even though a lot of guys don’t cry, he looked remorseful and full of regret. Sad thing is drugs controls a persons life and they’ll do anything to keep getting their drugs. I really hope this young man betters himself and stays away from his mother until she gets her life together, her choice of men has ruined her son’s life. But he’s also an adult to make his own decisions he made. We can’t always blame the parent because he could have walked away from his mom and make himself have a better and stable life. I wish him well.

    I met a lady years ago who attended one of our church services. This video reminded me of the account the lady shared with me about her 12 year old daughter who was sitting on the toilet in their house, when a neighborhood girlfriend walked into the bathroom and shot her in the head, killing her instantly. That young girl never served a day in jail for that murder. Unbelievable! And this young man before Judge Boyd shot someone dead who was simply doing his job. The daughter of the plumber told him via video that she forgave him for killing her father. I understand that action was based on her faith in Jesus...as she said. However, whenever I've heard other people through the years stand in a courtroom and tell some other murderer that they forgive him, I've always cringed. The reason being, that the murderer didn't ask for forgiveness. And yet forgiveness is being extended.

    I have lost friends and family too, just like everybody else on the planet. It never caused me to smoke meth.

    He goes to prison for 35 years, that means a whole life, that's tragic. Maybe the ONLY person who will go to visit him in prison is HIS MAMA, and Judge Boyd's words inciting rancor against his mother, are really insensitive. His mother is no angel, BUT still is his mama.
