Variac is one of those things there are only a few uses for, but when you need one nothing can replace it. Nice tool to have available. Thanks Chuck! 73

Nice review !. they are great to have fixing electric and electronic stuff . Years back the power grid changed voltage over the years from 110V to 120V . Old electronics from that time does not like higher voltage . also old parts like caps in old tube radio get funny when old so bringing up voltage slowly is preferred. That output voltage you measure will change a bit under load and according to input voltage. I have many of the. they have ones for 240/250 V as well. My 3KVA one is 120/240 in and 0 to 300 VAC out. Yes that a Toroide inside. I can show you one's big as a caterpillar tractor tire at MW broadcast station and SW broadcast. look threw the vent holes you can see how is is wound .That core is powered IRON . why it is HEAVY ! 73

Variac is a trademark, like Xerox. But we used to call them Variacs, regardless of the manufacturer

VEVOR 2000VA, Yeah it is definitely cheap, super cheaply made. If you open it up you will find that most the components are held in with hot glue.
