In truth, based on the guidelines, consistent experience in a related field of endeavor can compensate for the advanced degree requirement. I know someone who is currently a PhD student in the US without any previous master’s that just got his NIW approved. You may want to read the guidelines and properly update your audience

If you have STEM OPT it does buy you time. You can also go back to school to maintain status while waiting for NIW

I'm afraid, it does not.
In place of an advanced degree, consistent experience in a particular field of endeavor suffices for that.
