This final gives me the impetus that the US may not be as overwhelming in baseball as they think so I think they will be more active in wbc. And this tournament is likely to encourage more countries to enjoy baseball.
That's not what this means at all. None of our best starting pitchers were there. Only one of our top 20 pitchers was there and he had an absolute meltdown. The US offense had an uncharacteristically bad night by not scoring a single player that got on base. Let's keep it a stack. The US lost by one run in the finals with our fourth best pitching rotation
@@whenisdinner2137 look at how Urias and Alcantara were. If Watching baseball longer, you may know It doesn't matter the best SP is useful or not in short term race.
@@ratronatro great starting pitching is the only way that you can consistently win in baseball. All I'm saying is that you might want to pump the brakes on claiming that the US isn't by far the best off this tournament alone. Team USA had to deal with way more restrictions even with the pitching they did have than any other team

@@whenisdinner2137 You said, "The US offense had an uncharacteristically bad night by not scoring a single player that got on base." In rest of the world that's called a "loss". Besides, the exact same could be said about the Japan team, too. The fact is, USA didn't lose because of lack of pitchers, the pitchers rather did fine, it was the galactic lineup that couldn't get the work done. BTW, I agree that the US is probably the strongest baseball nation in the world, especially in its width and depth of talent. But in a tournament, the width and depth of talent doesn't really matter much, it's the dedication that counts (and luck, of course) . It especially doesn't help when one side is being over-confident or arrogant for that matter. So, is USA the strongest? Yes, most probably. Heads and shoulders above? No.
One of the most epic games ever. USA 🇺🇸 had a hell of a run, but if we had to lose, I don’t mind losing to Samurai Japan 🇯🇵. Hope you had a great time Austin👍🏾 Been a fan of your vids for years. Keep them coming👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 P.S. I also love the Eagle battle cry every time USA hits a homer🎉 Great stuff my guy😊😊
Vean el lado bueno los estadounidenses si perdieron significa que en el béisbol hay buen nivel si perdieron contra México significa que tienen buen nivel y que el béisbol tiene un nivel como el de fútbol y además trajo un montón de aficionados al béisbol
I have one thing to say. Stop dreaming. Goldschmidt is on first base, Trout is on center field, and Mookie Betts is on the outfield. I think everyone who plays baseball knows the players, but you can't beat them just by admiring them. We came here today to go over, to win. Just for today let's abandon our admiration for them and think only of winning. Alright, let's go! This is what Shohei Ohtani said to the members of the Japanese national team before the game.
Spitting on the field is something super common in MLB but none or rarely seen in NPB. Just food for thought. This was a well-deserved victory for Team JAPAN!
Please come to the ball park in Japan. Games in Japan are like carnivals. Japan welcomes you. There are many superstars in Japan who have not participated in the WBC. Japanese high school baseball has about 5,000 team tournaments. If you lose, it's over, so the experienced Japanese team has an advantage in the tournament. Ohtani lost in the regional preliminaries in high school, so he knows how scary it can be. If it had been a 7-game system like the postseason, the result might have been different. Japanese people respect American baseball. I won this time, but I haven't surpassed America yet. Please congratulate Japan on being the best in the world this time. America has a lot of great pitchers. I didn't participate in the insurance relationship, so my strength fell. Let's fight again in 3 years. 🇯🇵🤝🇺🇸
It was still a great game all teams play they hearts out I gotta give credit to Japan they were just a better team USA had too many mistakes in that game but congratulations to both teams making it to the championship
the money can come back, but there might not be this same experience again, especially as an Angel fan. Glad you pulled the trigger and went to the game!
Darvish will be OK. He's always been like that in international competition. The media often portrays him as the pitcher who got the winning out for Japan in the championship game back in 2009 WBC, but that was because he blew Japan's lead in the previous inning. In other words, Darvish getting hit usually leads to Japan's victory.
I’ve talked to someone here on YT who is a Mets fan, and he went to both this game and game 7 of the 2006 NLCS. He said that watching Trout strike out was sadder to him than watching Beltran strike out all those years ago.
Hey Austin. Great video! You said that you only brought your GoPro to this game but I noticed you were able to get some close up shots of the game play. How did you do that? Did you film in super high resolution like (5.3K) and then crop in? What settings do you use on your GoPro for games? Thanks.

A historical game!!
For me the WBC is more important than the World Series, I’ve never enjoyed baseball like this year WBC, that was spectacular.
Igual a mi me encanta mucho la mlb pero si el clásico mundial de béisbol va a atraer a más personas al béisbol entonces prefiero mil veces el cmb
Honestly a great game!

Bro this wbc brought new fans to the game. But I'm still bummed USA lost but as an angel fan I still feel like us fans won.

Because Japanese players regard the field as very sacred.

Swinging at the first pitch twice in the eighth after that Turner hit…the rally killer
You should go see a game in Japan or Taiwan at the next wbc

Darvish must have PTSD. Anyway, the best highlight, Trout vs. Ohtani was a win for all baseball fans!

He is the best writer on the planet. He made the Ohtani vs Trout match-up possible by allowing that homer.
I love this edit like early 2000s mood
It was a good world baseball classic wish I could go I'm a usa team
Great video I will see you in next WBC ⚾️

Man, that last slider was insane.
Both Phillie Boys hitting those homers!!!!!
Ohtani & Trout are my favorites, so I'm happy either one wins. This theatrical ending is more for promoting baseball, which used to be a dying sport.
This series saved the MLB
That is so sweet impressive that you traveled all the way across the country and back in one day
wow, that was thrilling.

Would've love to seen your live reaction to the final pitch as it happened. Not the recap only after everything died down.
Not even kidding, it's just me in silence as Japan celebrates amd goes crazy 😂 maybe i'll post it as a short

So I guess you could say that the Angels won right? Lol
Where is your Marlins Hat??
“I hate Loan Depot Park. I never want to come back here.” Said every Marlins fan ever.

Phil Nevin needs to step up and do something about this team or Ohtani is leaving. 😭
