Hey Mads, any issues with the aqara no neutral switches. There are many reports of the switches failing on hardware zone. Also can I ask if the lights you are connecting them to are all LEDs?
Felix Kho the aqara switch itself no issues. It depends on the light. If u are referring to flickering, it could be resolved by adding a capacitor to the light. So far I’ve used COB LED, SMD LED, T5 and LED bulbs... SMD LED is the only light with minimal flickers

I ordered an outsmart smart switch with no neutral. It comes with a capacitor and it says I must connect it to the very first light. Didn't really see or hear you mention about capacitor. Is it a must to install it?
Not a must.
@@madsncakes thanks for your reply. I have already installed the capacitor last week though.
If you on the lights using a smart switch, can you close the light with the physical switch?
Yup u can
Hi I need your support.
I want to use Aqara switches as a 2-way connection. 2-way - i mean a long hallway - with a light in the middle and 2 switches on both ends, so i can switch on and off the same lamp from both ends.
I currently have an existing 2-way electrical installation with normal switches (non smart).
Hi Mads does aqara do switches that is able to adjust the brightness of the bulbs? (My bulbs are adjustable from 2000k to 3000k). Or can i adjust it from my aqara app?
Great video ! Is it possible to connect Aqara to Apple homekit or google assistant ?
😂😂😂😂 I just setup Google home so I can answer u.
Google home - yes
Apple home kit - yes
@@madsncakes Thats great to know ! hope to see a tutorial on that :)
@@madsncakes May I know if you are using international version of aqara hub? or China version?
MADS is there a difference between international version and china version?
I don’t think much diff
is no-neutral smart switch stable? I came across some comment on no-neutral switch being fragile and incompatible with some low power LED light.
I am doing renovation to my resale HDB and I am thinking to put neutral wire to those switches.
Seems ok with my 7 watt cob leds, 12w, t5s....
Possible to share what type of switch for heater? Referring to smart switch
Is Aqara wall switch got sg safety mark? got cover in fire insurance?
Nope
This wall switch needs to connect to hub? Or can direct connect WiFi and control on app?
Hi, if I buy a triple switch version, wire only two buttons, can I use the third button to control something else. Let's say if I click the third button, can it turn off all the lights at home? Or the third button needs to be powered in order to be able to control something? Thanks
Yup don’t need a wire for third button. See my latest aqara video
@@madsncakes Thanks for your reply, I watched your video but couldn't find the answer to my question.
I did some research and ended up on this blog blog.tlpa.nl/2017/11/02/xiaomi-aqara-wall-switch/ He claims that "You might ask: ‘why would I buy a double key switch if I only have a single key now?’ Because I thought (potential spoiler) that I could only connect the wires for a single key and the other key would just be programmable (for other automation’s), sadly enough I had to find this out the hard way."
It seems it's not possible to programme the button which is not connected for other automation tasks? I wanted to use the spare (I won't wire it to any lamp) button to turn off all of my lights at home but it doesn't seem possible? Thanks
Good afternoon.
I want to buy an Aqara D1 circuit breaker (QBKG21LM without neutral, one key, wall mounted).
I want to connect 5 MJTS01YL bulbs to it.
But in the off state, the bulbs consume very little (less than 3 watts) and the switch will not work correctly. Its working range is 800W-3W
Can you please tell me what you can buy for a load of 3W?
Hi, kindly check do you need neutral wire for this your smart switch
I also want to know...
HI MADS, great video! wanna ask. are all HDB units wall switch default comes with neutral wire?
Nope, neutral not required in Singapore light switches
@@madsncakes noted. Do i need to install capacitor on lights if go w/o neutral ar?
Watch my latest aqara updates
Thanks for the great video on the smart switches. Does Aqara has five buttons switch?
Felix Sim nope...
No use neutral? I see some switch come neutral? Ples explain me
Hey Mads, any issues with the aqara no neutral switches.
MADS how do you add capacitor to the bulb?
I don’t know how... sorry!
hello
could you share a little more on this switch as i'm also thinking of buying the Aqara switches, but i have some doubts
1) any issues with the no neutral switches you are using so far? i understand that the longevity of the Aqara switches without neutral has reliability issues. From your first video over a year ago, are both switches running well till to date?
2) did you install a capacitor across your aqara switches to solve the flickering issue etc? or you went without a capacitors, no issues so far?
EmptyHue hello there. so far ok. No capacitors. Occasional flicks (once 1-2 mth?) in the bathroom smd led but not on the T5. For my living room, no issues on cob led and aqara bulbs
Hi. I have a traditional 2 way 3 gang switch. Are there any 2 way smart switches from aqara?

Love your videos. Short and sweet.
Need abit of help while I am planning for my smart home. When using Aqara Home app, which region do I choose? Currently there is no Singapore region and I do see "Other Region" as an option. Should I use that?
Also in "Other Region" I did see Aqara wired wall switch. Can I pair it with aqara home app?
Just A Cat Lover thanks! Yes have to choose China or other region
Hey MADS. Just wanna check with you if your aqara hub coverage is enough for all the aqara smart switches without neutral? Planning to use the aqara smart switches but wondering if i would need a zigbee repeater for a 5 room bto?
Nope! One is enough
@@madsncakes thank you!
Hi can I check if you know the aqara switches work with Xiaomi hub V3? Many thanks
Just to check is there any problem with the switch until now? As I see review online that when there is no neutral wire it will have intermittent on and off. Please share your thoughts.
Thank you
Working well. Will share when I get time
@@madsncakes ok sure. thank you. BTW it is a comprehensive video for viewer to understand.
Hello! Nice video! Which smart hub do you recommend us to purchase? Xiaomi smart gateway?
Thanks! I recommend aqara
Hi, thanks alot for the video! But I have one qns, what if there are lights that has 3 tone colour, can I change the colour in the app?
Tiffany Nyap is it those that u press once and it change color, press again another color? Then it should work
MADS yes! U mean it works in the app?? Great! Thanks! I bought the lights with 3 tone colour. Thought it wouldn’t work in the app. Thanks for reassuring!
In the app it looks like a normal switch, u just need to press like how u would usually
Excellent videos, I watched the old and this one, excellent information about the switches, good to know there are 2 different ones :)
Now I have a new project for my house, thanks again and keep it up!
Both videos are the same... aqara non neutral wall switches. And the latest d1 wall switches triple gang
@@madsncakes Thanks MADS, I actually meant the wireless switch vs the switch you wire to the wall :)
I thought it would've been a really great solution to actually change the switches, but didn't see that solution out in the regular places I shop.
So thanks for bringing it out
@@madsncakes hi there, does the latest D1 wall switches have the same installation method as your videos? i needed triple gang switches so i need to get the D1 version for my place.
Hi! Is there a difference between the wall switches from Aqara and Yeelight? Thx!!!!!!!!!!!

Would you be sharing how to convert the switch from 2 way to 1 way? It might benefit some of us. Thanks

Hi do you connect any capacitor for your nuetral wire? As what i know if you didn’t run any neutral you need to run light wire to capacitor then to neutral.
Thanks for making another video. Your videos gave me the confidence to install the switches in my home. However I have switched that are 3way and hope that Aqara will make a 3way switch in the future.
do u mean 3 buttons? There’s one

Huge thanks for this video! But just want to check that the Aqara Hub link in your description, the product reviews people indicated that it's a Mijia hub and not Aqara. Will that affect the pairing with Aqara smart switches?
Apocsky Lim go for aqara hub with aqara switches :)
Hi there, thank you for your video. Is there a way to link Universal IR with Aqara. Currently the Universal IR uses the Mi Home app and will not work with the Aqara app
It does if u add aqara to China region. Both will link up.
Hi
I just got a Aqara two rockers model no neutral but there were no blue light. Checked there is L-240V incoming . Do you think it is broken? Aqara hub also cannot locate this switch. Thanks
Did u hold down the buttons
Great video. After seeing this video, I have better understanding of what to get for my next addiction 🤣. Btw, you are not using Mijia app but Aqara app instead for all ur devices. Anyway, you are such a handywoman but do take safety first. Kinda having cold sweat seeing u on the ladder changing ur ceiling lights...😅

No issues. Sg don’t use neutral for lights
Hi MADs, i planning to install smart switch for my new house. Are you able to advise me the step and device that i need to have before installation?

Hello,
If a i have this Aqara Wall Switch (single or double), an aqara hub and an rgb lamp/light, can i dim the light over the the app (if i pair only the smart switch in the app) or i need a dimmer switch or a wifi lamp?
Is the rgb lamp from the xiaomi family?
I know it can with yeelight. I did wireless switch with yeelight bulb.
However with aqara wired switch, u have the option to switch to wireless switch in setting. Create automation > choose yeelight bulb > + change color or brightness
Thanks. Understand. Ordering :) the wired switches an the yeelight
