I know this is after the fact but any body that cuts hay has had rained on bales, what i do is put those bales on top or spread them out so the heat can exscape till they cure.GOOD JOB
Yeah I’m loving it, the M6060 handles the baler great not just running it but the weight of it on the hills, my old tractor would get pushed around on the hills and could be down right scary in some places, the Massey 1838 is great too this will be the third season with it and I still don’t think it has missed a knot, I had some trouble with banana bales a little but found out it wasn’t the baler, I had the chute and the ramp on the accumulator to sharp of a bend so I made adjustments and it does great now.
@@WilliamsonRidge Thanks so much. Not much info online about the 1838 and most people say the smaller M’s are too small. I have watched all your videos and it looked to run well, wanted to double check 😉
Maybe the MX models? I think they are a bit smaller than the standard M series like the 5660 6060 and 7060 or at least weigh less, weight I think is the key factor , my 40hp ran the small square baler fine but when you got on a hill it would push the tractor down the hill, those square balers have a lot of back and forth motion transferred to the tractor and even on sideways places would cause the lighter 40hp L series tractor to slide sideways down the hill, witch was the deciding factor in getting the M6060, and it handles all the same places fine.
@@WilliamsonRidge I think it’s more due to someone having a larger tractor and saying that they wouldn’t go smaller. Usually due to ride quality I guess. I am also going to have radials so they should rise better. I am on much flatter ground than you so I definitely won’t have issues with that setup. Not going to run an accumulator either so should be even easier on the tractor.
Glad to see the wagon getting used!
It’s working Great! Thanks so much for getting me fixed up!

Thanks I appreciate the info, I’ve only been cutting hay a few years and have a lot to learn.
Still happy with the m6060 and 1838 combo? I am about to get the same baler but slightly worries about windrow height with a smaller/lower tractor.
