    1. Miter the fascia board?
    2. Condensation between the OSB boards & insulation, ventilation? (That one is a big problem.)
    3. Primer on OSB boards?
    4. Sealant in the expansion gap between OSB boards (does not prevent seasonal movement).
    5. Rebating the drip trim?

    Hello handsome stu and surgeon kc, it's really special you and your dad are working together and building memories will last a lifetime..... .you have an awesome family and the lots you have gone through. ..thank you for your encouragement. ....lots of God's blessings to you and your family. Good work especially when you noticed that the roof was not even..other people would not care but am glad to see you caught that and did it right.

    The bits of wood to get the fall in a roof are called firrings and most good timber or roofing suppliers will have them in stock if not quite easy to cut yourself with skillsaw out of something like a 6x2

    What is that drip mounding called and how big is it. I want to get something similar to cover the concrete foundations in our garage before we do an epoxy pour. I feel like that PVC material would be perfect to cover the oddly exposed sill plate and the concrete edge under it that measures 3”x7” or 75mm x 180mm.

    Hi Stu love the vids! I have a small concrete porch roof how would you waterproof it? the concrete absorbs moisture currently, could I coat it in isoflex liquid rubber? As their is no insulation between the concrete and internal ceiling so the moisture is sitting on ceiling and creating damp, need to resolve this before winter sets in look forward to your response

      You could create whats called a warm deck roof on top with a system of your choice as the finish

    I’ve been learning all about GRP roofing installations & one thing all seem to instruct is the use of tongue & groove OSB board, but you haven’t & left a 3mm gap for expansion. Would this not cause an issue with the GRP layer?

    Excellent video and prob. one of the kind for what I am looking for on youtube... I have a question... When you installed firings, it created slope, but on the side facia details it doesnt looks like there is a slope (I am taking about video at 5:12 .... visually - I am sure there is a slope ... or it it just me that not seeing it?)! why is that?

    Hi stu do the OSB boards need to be staggered or can they be layed side by side giving cross joints

    Do they sell the fillets pre cut or have you ask them to cut them?? Great video

  • @hassansaddique7411

    Instead of loft insulation should have used 100mm kingspan and some sofit vents at the front fascia so the whole roof is vented and no damp issues later but again if customer is not ready to spend more money on it what you can do
    Rest is Picasso

    • @garethheathcote4988
      @garethheathcote4988 4 года назад

      Hassan stadia insulating that makes it what is known as a warm roof,you do not vent warm roofs. Now imagine the roof above your house,the insulation is sat on top of your ceiling with none above that between the roof spa,s/timbers. This is a cold roof which would benefit from being vented and is also partly the reason that we now use breathable felt on pitched roofs.the airflow stops timbers from rotting.

    Just curious why you didn't scab sister joists to existing which would be much quicker and easier...?

      @dscott1520 7 лет назад

      BeeFriendlyApiary by running new rafters, you can change the pitch any direction you need..

    • @dennisphoenix1
      @dennisphoenix1 5 лет назад

      @@dscott1520 I was thinking I would have screwed 4x2 timbers to the side of the old joists to remove the sag and get the correct slope . I have done this on internal floors

    just a pointer... music is too loud and vocals low so everytime the music comes on its too loud and when vocals kick in you gotta turn it up again after turning it down on the music... slightly annoying but a great video.
