I LOVE this gel. It keeps my hair defined and moisturized until my next wash day which is every 5 days or so. I have gone a week with this gel. I use water as my leave in and it's less sticky. There is a learning curve with MC gels. Your hair looks great!

I get what you mean with working product through the top to bottom or other way. When I start at the roots to the ends I end up applying too much at my roots because I’m trying to work it down completely and then my scalp is built up and irritated quicker. When I work from ends to roots then I can smooth the product through and make sure I’m defining all the way up and then only apply product as needed up to the roots. That minimizes possible gunks of gel in one section at the root 😉

I tried the Orchid Biotin gel a few years back as well. I did not like it at all, and never purchased another Mane Choice styler again. It felt like a super sticky slim, and was difficult to work through my hair. And the flakes I got when my hair dried😭 I don't like protein in my stylers, but your hair looks so good I'm almost tempted to buy!
I've never purchased the MC Cheers Gelato. I'm not a fan of the spearmint smell of the Melanin Haircare leave-in, so I typically use it as a pre-poo. Your hair is always 🔥🔥🔥.

Your curls look great. Love the shape. Sometimes I love a soft wash and go. I've been using the Melanin leave-in as a rinse out conditioner or I will use it as a leave in with my kinky curly custard. It did leave my hair soft for about three days. Day four I needed some moisture. I never tried the Mane Choice gels. Great video.

I used this gel for the first time last week. Definition, shine and Moisture for days. I used the Mane Choice 3-in-1 conditioner. The only downside is the tackiness of the gel. When I tried to fluff my hair the Afro pic could not go through my roots because the gel was sticky there. I love the gel though and I will use it up as I have a back up.
I didn't have sticky roots. Did you sit under the dryer or did you air dry your hair? My hair was not sticky unless I added heat or when the steam from the shower hit it, but it would dry with no tackiness. I hope your 2nd try will be better for you. Thanks for watching.
I style my hair in four sections but smaller sections as I apply the leave-in conditioner and gel. That is what my hair likes, and my hair looks 👀 even more moisturized and defined. Your hair looks great 👀👍🏾
That foaming is from the leave in conditioner. I use it too and that happens to me. I like it because it has amazing slip and it mixes well with most gels. It's also very moisturizing. I don't like that peppermint smell and that foaming. Not sure I will purchase it again either. Have you tried the Doux big poppa gel? It has that sticky feel also. I don't like that. However I'm on the #useyourstash kick right now 😁

I love your results as always. Your wash n gos are so beautiful. I used the gel with Adowa Leave-in for a braidout and I loved it. I think there are a couple other leave in you can use as well. If I remember I don't think you like Adowa because of the smell. I'll look in my notes and let you know.

@@staceyparker6856 I've only paired it with the camille rose curlaide and the Alikay yogurt, twisting butter and moisture parfait. It worked well with all of those. I am going to try it with other leave ins from other brands so I can let you all know. I just haven't gotten around to it yet, but it is coming.

I haven't tried it yet but I've heard that using a strong hold gel on top like wetline or something keeps it from getting sticky and helps with elongation? I just got this gel I'm going to try it next wash day :)
