Stunningly beautiful, an engrossing tale told with passion as only Marillion can. Steve Hogarth is a revelation, I know no other vocalist whose heart and soul shine through their work with such intensity and emotion. Just treated myself to the 'Out of Season' DVD box set - wow, pure joy!
Utter classic,I love the long Marillion tracks. I had the pleasure of seeing them live on the Marbles tour and every song played was perfect,Steve Rothery is a genius on that guitar.
I am usually trepidatious to say this about any Marillion song, as they are so many brilliant ones...but this may well be one of their very best. Their are so many songs-within-songs that tell a magnificent story here...it's nearly perfect.
Not only is Marbles one of the best Marillion records judged by its musical merit but these songs also have a nostalgic value for me. Remembering those days of sun but sometimes thunder and lightning as an exchange student in France.... :)
Intense. The live performance is supported with all key features of the studio recording. The song stands as a journey on its own. The crowd is comprised of what you may call a characteristic progressive rock audience. Listening with utmost attention, deep fascination, to the journey of the seaman. Wish I could be there then

Obviously you have never heared them play live. When you are there with them in the same room the real magic kicks in. marillion is one of the few bands who are better live then on their albums.
