The Bruce Kulick era has always been my favourite Kiss era! That was the time I started to listen to them. Asylum is a great and kinda overlooked album.
Me too. Asylum was my first album. Bruce is an under-appreciated player and unfairly overlooked as a contributor in musical evolution of Kiss during a difficult era for them. With either Eric on the skins, Bruce's era with the band was their best musically be a mile, though I totally understand the reverence for Ace.
Bruce Kulick (IMO) is the BEST guitar player that has ever played with KISS !! He was definitely one of my major influences from my early guitar playing days !!!
Bob played on Paul Stanley‘s 1978 Solo Album and on the 4th side of the Alive II Album. Bob and Bruce are both featured on Meat Loaf’s Rockpalast concert from 1978. It is available on RUclips.
Favorite Kulick lick is the opening to his main King of the Mountain solo. The idea is awesome and shows how to take what is more or less pentatonic and give an old idea some new tricks.
This stuff is right in my wheelhouse great lesson and great fun to play. Thanks you. PS that Play Button needs to be centre stage not tucked away. Don't be shy - you have worked hard for that . Put it centre stage m8 😀
Youre all limp wristed and weak! Reminds me of Dee Snider, I love it, thanks for this awesome lesson David. I'm a struggling 35 year player needing exactly these types of lessons to get me past my block. 🤟
Has anyone mentioned the bonus lick was also identical to the ending to Eddie Van Halen's lead on Brian May's Star Fleet from 1983? Isn't it neat how licks work their way through different hands.
Give it a Bartolini active pickup and paint it sea-foam green (like Vai's Charvel from the Flexable days), and that's my main metal guitar from back in the late 80's through the 90's. I had Ralph Novak (the inventor of fanned-fret guitars and basses) install the floyd and pickup, and also re-fret it. That guitar was super easy to play, and sadly I never found anyone else quite that good to do re-frets, because he went on to make those guitars and moved to another state.
You should do 3 licks from Shinji Wajima, the Japanese riff Meister from Ningen Isu. He's heavily influenced by Black Sabbath I think, and his riffs are just amazing.
Kiss my ass.....i don't like them, but i like more Paul Gilbert and Van Halen so a request ☝️ The scuffle.... "I am the one".... David can you learn us Play it correct 🤔😁🤘
They're not my favorite, in fact I like Racer X more, but who cares what we don't like? That doesn't ever get anyone anywhere but disliked by people who we have insulted. I'm not hating on you either, and it's not like I haven't pissed people off before, and I'd bet people have said that about things you like at some point in the past. I've certainly been blasted before for liking Pail Gilbert, even when Racer X was brand new. It's just a waste of time for you and everyone. And the thing is, a lot of players I really do like were heavily influenced by them, so they must've been doing something right. Paul Gilbert was a big Kiss fan, and I'm having trouble thinking of any great rock or metal guitarist from the 80's that wasn't influenced by Kiss. So I still pay attention and once in awhile I learn something I missed that helps make other guitarists evolution make more sense. And even I have to admit _Rock and Roll All Night_ is a classic foot stomper, and part of the prelude to mosh pit driving metal riffs. But I hope David does take your request, although you have a backwards way of making requests, and I wouldn't do it after being insulted for what was more than a month of work. Just some things to think about. Hope you and everyone else have a good/day night. 🙂
His brother Bob Kulick was a slick player too
He's my favorite Kiss guitarist of all time ,Thanks for lesson You're great.
Killer player but I gotta go with Ace!!! Another great video from this channel.
I love Ace too, He made me love Dynasty album.
Totally agree. My fav Kiss guitarist

@@coalfacechris1336 I still have the Asylum cassette somewhere. Got it for christmas in -85.
Great guitarist
Seriously underrated. Every solo on Crazy Nights LP was fantastic.

Wicked lesson❤

Underrated to the max. His solo album is sick.
I saw Bruce, play these licks back in 1986. He was such a tasteful player live.
I saw Kiss live twice during the Kulick years. Both shows were outstanding!
I read the book, too. Great read.
Lick#3 sounds similar to Reb Beach. Bruce's acoustic solo on the song Forever was really great too.

Wow! This was a lot more than expected. I especially liked lick number 2
Starting to become the coolest channel on the 'tube buddy! 🎸
Killer lesson
More awesome KISS content, David. A Mark St. John/Animalize Three-For-All episode would be the cherry on top!
Mark deserves a tribute for sure.

How about a Bob Kulick video.. loving this
Fun lesson
ace was the guy that influenced so many ,but Bruce was my favorite

Do you have tab for happy birthday song that you played on the evh video ???I want to play that version on my mom’s birthday???

The first tapping lick he used in the intro to No No No
Dave has an earlier Bruce three -for-all lesson with that exact lick. Very cool.
Bruce was the best they ever had. Ace was great for the 70s but they became better musicians from 80s - 2000s
David, would love to see some Coco Montoya featured on the channel.
Hey David. Are you based in Atlanta? Do you offer lessons? Love your channel and all of your content.
Your delay has changed. Faster and fewer repeats?
After Vinnie is say Bruce was the man. Gene n Paul duped him for the make up era revisited which got old
Saw kiss in 88 columbus oh they sucked

Be nice, man. Plenty of people like both bands and PG (me included), and this is a special time for Kiss fans, which is being celebrated by LNL.
Im gonna start referring to shuffles as scuffles now after reading that
