As a Paraguayan, I can say that your analysis of the Chaco War is the most simplistic one I've ever seen to say the least. Hopefully you can do more research for your next video.
Interesting video, which involved two of my favourite South American countries in detail. Thank you for the upload and also for the continued politeness and courtesy showed therein. Not a great deal of other Alternate History youtubers thank their viewers for watching - yet instead arrogantly treat them as if guaranteed - nor at all wish them a 'happy and prosperous life.'
FUN FACT! Bolivia never won a single war since their independence Even for their indepence was won by bolivar (that why its called bolivia) aka gran colombia They pretty much were liberated from the spanish instead of actually fighting for independence
@@rewriting-history if im not mistaken they also have a holyday for the day they lost their acess to the sea from chile called "dia del mar" or day of the sea They go around singing about their claim to the sea and insulting chile and its celebrated for a week in the "semana del mar" week of the sea
The independence war was not won by Bolivar, I don’t know who told you this but it is just not true, because when Bolivar arrived to Bolivia in 1825, Bolivian patriots had already defeated Spain and had been fighting since 1809, Bolivar just came at the end of everything and claimed the land and throne.
In my oppinion, that the ultranationalist peru join allied, I don't seem it weird. Example are thailand before japan strike south campaign, thailand are aware of japanese invasion, even try to get secret treaty with britain in case that japan attack thailand that thailand would join allied with british help to protect thailand, but britain never consider this agreement from thailand. Militarist Regime would do everything to survive not to win external conflict.
It might have been interesting if your scenario had Chile join the Axis too, just for the outcome of Bolivia getting back a coastline from them in the peace deal.
I've learned to not expect a necessarily realistic scenario from this channel. I mean no offense to Rewriting History but I come here for a more loose interpretation that puts viewer interest first. If I do feel like watching a scenario that adheres more to realism then there's other alternative history RUclipsrs who provide that. Don't put your eggs in one basket, y'know?
The TLDR of our timeline: Bolivia: I’m gonna attack Paraguay they thought they could replicate Napoleon but got humiliated there’s no way they can beat me. Paraguay: about that… there’s one thing you miss about Napoleon’s story. Bolivia: and what’s? Paraguay: even against all odds Napoleon came back once. Bolivia: wait wha- Paraguay: yep and I’ll be taking this territory.
I mean, even if Bolivia managed to retake Chaco, wouldn't it be better if Paraguay and Bolivia could both use the river in order to avoid conflict, like they split it in half where one half of the river is used by Bolivia and the other half by Paraguay (as long as both parties reached an agreement) ?
2:34 and what about Russians ? The rest of the white army helped Paraguay in the war (many of them considered Paraguay as they second country just behind Russia)
As someone from Nepal I think bolivia is like us but in south America except for the fact we didn't lose wars against all our neighbours despite them being more powerful and we didn't get colonized Also, Tillicho is the highest lake in the world not Titicaca 🇳🇵❌🇧🇴🇵🇪
