I actually fell in love with using Deckard since he was free last week, instantly liked him in try mode, focused instinctively on kanai /cube build and keeping mana up. it seemed pretty effective as whitemane and I were in a pug where we were the only characters doing damage and pushing in the correct lanes with the ai push, and that was hilarious. It became pretty clear how not aware of anything many people are when they get caught up fighting midlane the whole game, because I was chasing a few of them initially trying to heal them, and id surround them with pots, and they would just leave them there for someone else to grab, which usually did happen. He was very fun though. So glad to see a new perspective on him from you. it feels really good with how new I am to this game that I actually picked this 'build' without someone telling me its 'meta'.
Edit: Forgot to mention, thank you for all the high-quality content, this has quickly become one of my most visited channels on RUclips You should do a Samuro guide (either like this or the “Beginners” series style). I’ve climbed from silver to plat with him, he is a very interesting hero that can fill a a lot of gaps in a team. He does camps quickly and safely, can burst out squishy’s, and once you get used to controlling your clones, he is nearly impossible to kill and Ken show up just about anywhere on the map To help get your team and XP lead
Went from Plat 4 to Dia 4 this season because of Deckard. I really recommend people learn to play him. Well timed gems and ults make all the difference.
I get respect the elderly 24/7 Since im not playing on masters most likely my team is going to mess up the ultimate,so at least i can secure a nice silence
This guide improved my Cain gameplay a lot. I never used the gems, because I never really understood their huge potential. Now I'm blocking heals of all those whitemanes around. :)
This build is soooo good. So, so good. At lvl 13, you are not loosing a boss race and truthfully forts/keeps are a smash. Thanks for this upload. Crazy, crazy strong.
1:21 I am sure the combo was Saphire, E , W not the order you stated. The E takes long to wind up, so people cast that one first and trap them in the triangle with the W except from that, an informative video as always.
Actually, it tends to be the other way around. Paradox addressed this in a long while, IIRC 4 mistakes on Deckard Cain vid or something? W has a long time to finish and while E has a windup it would slow perfectly when you need it the most when casting W first and then throwing E second. Throwing the Cube first means they get more time to escape your Scroll in most situations so the default is W and then E.
@@Mjolonar Dude, the W explodes with a delay, so it's better to throw out W since it takes effect faster that way, and then place E so it's easier to hit since enemies are slowed... E first gives enemies half a second more to avoid it since they see where you put it before the slow even takes hold. W FIRST
@@LagOknenonok Did you know that scroll of sealing also has a delay? If you throw cube first, it doesn't matter that you've applied the slow earlier because you've given them more time to get out of the E zone by casting it late and warning them that it is coming.
I can see why it isn't taken in pro play but in Hero League I LOVE Field Study at level 1. Not only does it increase spell damage AND the healing of the potions you drop during the 16 seconds after you land a root, but it ALSO increses the amount of SHIELDS ... AND it increases all stats of Ancient Blessings... If you catch 3 people in a root, your team will be unstoppable.
Hmm is that true? I mostly used HotsLogs to figure this out: www.hotslogs.com/Social/TalentCalculator/deckard?build=67985#HoSA I figured that since the shields scale with your level that they also scale with spellpower. Is there some rule somewhere that shields are not affected by spell power overall?
Actually I belive I tested it out in the Try Out Range or whatever its called as well! I'm pretty sure that the shields went up. I can test it again today or you can do it and let me know because I tested this when Deckard was first released.
Not sure if that Sapphire really got much use tbh. Like you said, a lot of the times, Emerald is used, so is that not just a waste of a level 1 talent? I mean, i guess it's good to get since it has its uses before level 7, but after that it just seems like Emerald is all that's used.
Ruby is a very underrated talents in my opinion. With Perfect Gems you can spam Ruby to your hearts content and heal the frontline to max health thrice. I prefer that over that very small value from Potion of Shielding way more. Just my opinion, though.
Ruby is better with a lot of frontline heroes which are in the face of the enemy. The shield is so much better for squishy like Dive heroes which are also in the face of the enemy, protecting Tracer-Genji-Zeratul is generally more valuable than healing a Sonya or Diablo
@Marcos Mendez Ruby is very effective against Dive compositions as well: you pop that Ruby on the Diver to get some easy potions. Plus, Dive Heroes tend to have high damage output, something that the very small shields from Potion of Shielding won't help.
I like ruby a lot conceptually, but at least in my experience I have such a hard time getting allies to use them even when I successfully make a lot of the little buggers right next to engaging allies
One reason why I prefer shield over Ruby is that Ruby forces your temmate to go somewhere while you can drop potions on top of them. And it's not minor shield. From top of my head numbers I have on mind, it roughly doubles your healing.
@@LiveforHM I love that sometimes people are used to do things that when it doesn't matter, they just do it anyways cause it would feel weird not doing so
Important to note: emerald is also strong when you need to reduce a tank's self healing (Diablo, Yrel, etc.) but I don't think it applies to Muradin as much since his self heal is after a certain amount of time without damage... but should affect his Avatar? Excellent video, thank you for this!
Avatar is both. It increases the max HP as you mentioned, but also gives him a health increase, so emerald (if timed correctly) should reduce the amount of health that is increased when avatar is activated. Anything that increases health should be affected, such as life binder, yes. But again, timing is very specific.
Because Alarak is all about punishing mistakes. Since pro players do way, way less mistakes Alarak just struggles to get as much value as he would in a regular game.
I'm still waiting for when Ancient Blessings will only do damage to Heroes; it's so dumb that I can hit my D key to help with race or pushing. Either take away its non-Hero damage or drastically increase its cooldown... I think more importantly are the power levels of his Basic Abilities and his Mana costs: 40 for Cube and 40 for Scroll of Sealing. Scroll of Sealing has an effective ~10.5 second cd. Meanwhile, Entangling Roots costs 75 Mana and has an effective 14 second cd. Hmm... Not to mention that Deckard gets a 65% Slow for 1.75 seconds, leading into the root for 1.25 seconds, and that's 3 seconds of very low MS for 80 Mana. Or you can be Malfurion, and spend 75 mana for a 1.25 second root...
I think he needs a nerf on his root or slow. As you said he has one of the most if not the best root in the game. I'm oblivious as to why blizzard hasn't addressed him yet. Considering his popullarity and win rate. A lot of people may be salty, but it's the truth.
Blizz needs to feature you. I’ll keep saying this. I haven’t found vids even close. So grateful for NP.
I'm learning a lot keep up the good work.
